Respect Award

A few days before Christmas I opened the mailbox and pulled out this note from Chloe's school. It said that she had earned a card for RESPECT. Landon and I always kind of laugh about things like this. Chloe actually won an award last year at school for respect as well. We asked Chloe what she had done to earn this one and she said she had no idea but it was like her 4th one this year, but usually they don't mail them out they just give them to you. Here's the thing-Chloe isn't always the most respectful individual. Part of the reason is that she is honest-painfully so at times. Another reason is that she doesn't kiss up or pretend to try and make people like her. She does have trouble with some teachers sometimes and yes she probably says things she shouldn't. That being said usually the teachers she has problems with tend to treat their students like little kids or try to force them to fit a certain mold and force them all to do exactly as they say instead of giving them a little bit of freedom, which is something teenage kids tend to need. When a teacher is like this, Chloe tends to get in a power struggle with them and it never ends well. However, that being said many of Chloe's teachers love her because she is no nonsense and gets her work done. She also is a smart worker and a hard worker so a lot of times she finishes things earlier than many of the other students. Her coaches also like her for this reason and because she is a hard worker and works when it is time to work instead of talking or goofing off. We are proud of her for getting things like this even if she doesn't know what she did to earn them. Good Job Chloe!
