Tears

Going back to work has been hard on me. I love my job and what I'm doing, but it has been hard to leave Bryce. This is the first time we have really had to have someone else watch him that wasn't family-unfortunately even though we have a lot of family close by, it just didn't work out for someone that could consistently watch him, so we chose a babysitter who could be consistent. Luckily we were able to get into Gay Newby. She is someone we knew we could trust 100 percent-she is who watched Tanner when he was younger, and who would have watched Chloe if she would have had an opening. Anyways we were very happy that she had a spot open up and was able to take on Bryce.
That being said it was still hard to leave him. The first day when I dropped him off he actually did fine. It was hard for me though-I struggled not to cry as I pulled away. When I got back to pick him up they had picked me flowers and made cookies for our family-which I thought was so thoughtful.
He also did okay the first day of preschool-just waved and walked right in. The next day at the babysitter was okay too, but then after that things changed. Since those first few days he has cried every time I have left him. It's hard on him and it's hard on me. It breaks my heart. I know he is fine once I go-he only cries right when I leave for about 5 minutes or less. He is also happy when he is picked up and likes both places he goes. I think he just has a hard time with the initial goodbye. Honestly I think he is having a little bit of separation anxiety. There is just a lot of change right now to take in. I'm hoping as time goes by he will be able to overcome it, but in the meantime his Mom will go to work everyday with just a little bit of a broken heart. Tomorrow is a new week and I'm trying to be optimistic that it will be the turning point for us.

Back to School 2016

After a fun filled summer our break is finally over and it's time for the kids to go back to school.

This year Tanner will be in 11th Grade at Dixie High School.
Chloe 7th Grade at George Washington Academy.
Bryce started a week later than the other two at Bare Foot Montessori. Preslie is in his class.
It's crazy to think I have one almost done with school and one just starting the path. I hope they can all have a great year!!!

Back to school for the kids also means back to work for Mom. I have decided to go back as a special education paraprofessional in the severe classroom at George Washington Academy. I felt like it was the right thing to do at this time and would be more steady and stable for Bryce than the substitute teaching I had been doing the past few years.

I couldn't help but post my awesome work photo-haha. I love that they also take these and then print them off for us. Not really I never know what to do with them-this year they came in handy cause I was able to give one to Bryce to keep with him in his backpack, since he has been having a little bit of a hard time adjusting to preschool and daycare-so I guess that's a good reason to get them.

"I want to sale Chloe"

This happened on our way home from Park City a few weeks ago...
It had been a long weekend. Fun but long. We were only our final leg of driving for Saturday and Bryce was beyond ready to get out of the car. He was cranky and tired. Chloe was in the back sitting by him and she kept kind of tormenting him. She did something and accidently hit him in the head. He was heartbroken and sobbing and crying. He said "Mom I want to sale Chloe". I was like okay how much do you think we could get out of her. He said something like 5 cents or something funny like that. A few minutes later the incident was over and forgotten and then I heard him say from the back seat. "Mom I don't want to sale Chloe anymore...lets keep her." They were back to being friends.

Park City

A few weeks ago we Chloe had a soccer tournament in Park City. We decided to kind of make a mini vacation out of it. We told Chloe she could bring her cousin Saydee along with us. For weeks before hand those two planned out all the fun things they wanted to do while we were there. They even held a couple of bake sales to earn money. Of course the main reason we went was to play soccer, but between games we planned to pack as much fun is as we could.
The tournament began Thursday with a soccer game in the afternoon. We got to Park City early and spent most of the morning shopping at the Outlet Malls. Then we had lunch and checked into Condo. Then off to the soccer fields. Unfortunately Chloe's team lost the first game. After a trip to Wal-Mart for some groceries it was time for dinner and swimming in the condo's pool.
Friday morning started out early with French toast-made by Landon, and then a soccer game. Chloe's team won. YEAH!!! Then we hit the alpine slide and coaster. We had a hard time finding them, but we finally did, and everyone had a great time. After that we grabbed some lunch and onto another soccer game. In a close game-Chloe's team lost again. That loss took us out of the competition for Saturday. Which was sad for the team, but would mean we would have a whole day of free time the next day.
Saturday morning after breakfast we packed everything into the car and headed over to UTAH OLYMPIC PARK. This was really what the girls had been waiting for. A day full of extreme adventure. Chloe and Saydee wanted to do everything so they both got a gold pass, so that they could do everything as many times as they could. Landon ended up getting the gold pass as well-I mean after all someone needed to keep track of the girls. Bryce was only tall enough to ride the alpine slide so we got him two tickets for that. I got one ticket for the alpine slide. I'm not much into extreme thrills, plus someone needed to keep track of Bryce and take pictures. Bryce loved the alpine slide!!! The second time he went down the line was getting pretty long, so we were glad we did it twice first thing. I think by the end of the day the line for that was around a two hour wait-that is the thing people wait the longest for. Here is what the other adventurers did-they did the extreme zip line (I think the girls did it a least three times if not four and Landon did it once.) The girls also did the smaller zip line. Landon did the extreme tubing and the girls did they other tubing hill (much to their dismay they weren't old enough to go on the extreme tubing hill). They all did the drop tower. (a 50 foot straight drop down that you have to zipline over to. We all did the scenic chair lift and the alpine slides. We also got to see a fun freestyle show, where the skiers do flips and stuff into a pool, as well as walk through the museum, and see some people practicing the skeleton and riding the Bobsled. When Bryce saw the people doing the skeleton he said "when I grow up I want to do that".
We finally left around three or four. The girls could have stayed even longer, but the weather was turning bad and some rides were getting shut down, plus Bryce was about done for the day, so we headed on down the road back to Fillmore.

On the way we stopped in Provo at the Mall to let Bryce go to Build a Bear-that was his souvenir/reward for being such a trooper the whole time. I also bought each of the girls and Bryce a shirt at the Olympic Park as well as a magnet for myself. Unfortunately due to some mis-communication Landon accidently threw away Bryce's shirt and my magnet :(
We were really glad to make it back to Flowell and spend the night. We went to church with Landon's family the next day and joined them for Sunday dinner before continuing on home. We had a really fun time, but it's always nice to be back home.
