Daddy Daughter Date

On Saturday Chloe had her first Daddy Daughter Date. She also had a birthday party for one of her best friends at school. The bad thing was that they were both at the exact same time. She was so torn she really wanted to do both, so she finally decided that she would go to half of each one. She had a blast at both.
The Daddy Daughter Date was a Hawaiian themed Luau. The made necklaces and bracelets and did some hula dancing. Well actually Landon said the dad's hula danced and the girls just watched them. He said they were probably all mortified. Afterwards Chloe was giving us all a demonstration of Landon's hula dancing. Man I wish I would have been there to get some video footage. The both had fun and it was good for them to go. When Chloe first found out about it she said she didn't want to go with Landon she wanted me to take her-haha. I told her that it would be fun and that they would probably make the dad's do something embarrassing like hula dance :) that changed her mind!

Happy Birthday Tanner

Tanner turned 12 on Wednesday. I can't even believe it 12! We were kind of low key for his birthday this year but we did get the whole fam together for dinner at his new favorite restaurant the Black Bear Diner.
He was not happy when they came to sing to him and bring him some ice cream. He ate a few bites of it though and then Taelor and Chloe finished it off.

After dinner we went back to our house for presents and cheesecake. Chloe picked out Tanner's present all by herself if was a garbage can. She filled it with some candy and money wrapped up in toilet paper. Funny Girl!!! Tanner was spoiled by everyone.
Great Grandma made the cheesecake and it was a hit as usual, he was just lucky he got 2 slices cause it went fast! Notice he has hold of his new ipod. He didn't put it down for days-well actually he still hasn't. He even convinced Grandma Tawny to run him to Target that night after the party so he could buy a new case for it, so it was properly protected.
On Friday after school I took him and a couple of friends to the movies to finish off the celebration. They went to see the Bourne Legacy while I took Chloe to see Brave. They had fun and they must have been well behaved in there because they weren't escorted out of the theatre. Funny thing when we were in line getting snacks the lady was like well you could just get a large drink and share it and it would save you money and I pointed to the boys and was like well they don't really want to share their drink. She said in a serious tone "they don't" I was like no and the boys were just busting up laughing.

Family Night Olympics

Landon was in charge of family night a few weeks ago and in the spirit of the Olympics he came up with a fun game where we had to work together as a team. Each of us was on two different teams and then the teams with the most point won medals. The medals were made out of candy- bronze was two mini candy bars hooked together. The Silver was a bunch of kisses glued to a cardboard. The gold a bunch of miniature Reese's glued to a cardboard. Everyone had a fun time and then came the awards ceremony. Well when Chloe realized she wasn't getting gold she just burst into tears. I graciously stepped down and let her trade me places. Look at her face in both pictures it is red from crying.
Tanner told Chloe to bite her medal in this picture because that's what they did in the Olympics.

It was a fun night and were glad we have such a fun dad to plan fun things. Usually I just read a story from the friend when it's me turn for the lesson-haha :)

First Day of School

The kids started school yesterday which means that I started back to work as well. I can't believe that I have a 3rd grader and a 7th grader-WOW! Next year Tanner will be in Junior High and that is sad-haha. Chloe was so excited to start, Tanner was trying to act like he didn't want to go back but deep down I know he is glad to be back. My theory was proven when he got home from school yesterday and he really seemed quite happy about things. He even was getting his binder and planner all organized without me telling him to, as well as doing the little bit of homework he had. The thing Chloe was most excited about was the fact that she has nice girls in her class this year and a real (heavy) mathbook. She actually brought it home last night because we were supposed to cover it but then she did some problems out of it just for fun.

They both must have been excited to go back today because they were outside waiting for their carpool and I went out to check on them and they were gone. I saw the carpool van driving off down the road. So excited they didn't even holler in the door bye Mom or Love You or anything.

I am happy to be back to work as well. I am still battling nausea which is no fun, but I keep hoping I will get over it soon, but I really do love the kids I work with so I guess it's worth it. I'm working more hours as well this year so we'll see how that goes.

Crib

We got a crib and we decided to go ahead and put it up in Chloe's room since we had the space ready for it. Chloe was so excited to put it up. She wanted to test it out with Beckett. She put him in it and the funny thing is, is that he actually stayed in it for like an hour and didn't even try to get out. Of course she had to get my camera and take a picture. Now she is using it for her baby dolls.

Baseball News

Tanner had a baseball tournament last weekend. I'm still not doing a very good job of taking pictures, but I did manage to take one of him before one of his games. His team had a pretty good run at this tournament they went 2 and 2. On Friday I made myself go to one of Tanner's games to try and be a good mommy-haha. And yes you would have to make yourself go to if it meant sitting in a blistering 105 degrees of direct sunlight. Thankfully someone shared there canopy with me. I was glad I went because I was able to see Tan make some pretty awesome double plays and also get a really good hit that ended up being a triple. Tanner played 2nd base pretty much the entire tournament and I think he had about 5 double plays from there :)

Lightning Strikes at Swim Meet

Chloe had her last swim meet of the summer season last Saturday. It was another big one. The only bad thing about it was the weather-it started lightning and thundering about 4 hours into the meet. Right before Chloe's next race. They ended up canceling the whole meet and she missed her last three events. She was bummed because at this meet they were giving out medals to the top three instead of just ribbons like they usually do. She kept saying that she was going to get five gold medals like Michael Phelps-haha. Well she got two before the meet was canceled.
Here relay team took first in fact they totally smoked the competition. They were all so excited.
She also got a gold medal in the backstroke-which no one was expecting because she hasn't swum a backstroke in competition in months and it's not really her specialty. But she did it! 1st out of about 20 girls. I have no doubt she would have gotten her five golds had the meet not been canceled.

Baby Update

I had a doctor appointment on Friday. Chloe was happy that I told her she could accompany me, Tanner was gone to a baseball tournament and Landon was at work, she was super excited because I told her that she would be able to hear the babies heartbeat. Well the doctor made her day even better because he has an older ultrasound machine and he let her actually see the baby and see it's heartbeat. She thought that it was so cool. The only disappointing thing for her was the fact that she really wanted there to be two heartbeats-HAHA! I'm  pretty happy there wasn't because I don't think I would have survived. The doc said everything looked good so far and the baby was measuring exactly where it should be.
