Jack Skelligton Cupcakes

I work in a severe special education classroom. One of my favorite job assignments is cooking with the students every Friday. One of the girls in our class was having a birthday and she loves Jack Skellington off the Nightmare Before Christmas. I found a cute cupcake pattern on Pinterest and we made these. She loved them. I think they turned out so cute and were really simple to make.

Weird Party Favors

Bryce went to the birthday party of one of his classmates. My sister took him and Preslie. He came home and was excited about his pirate garb that he received. I thought it was all good until I saw his party favor bag-it was literally filled with garbage. Weird bits and pieces of paper, odd beads, sticks, rocks, pieces of broken candy. I was really concerned and threw it all away. Then I called my sister and asked her what in the heck kind of party did they attend? She said she had seen another kid going around the yard picking up garbage and stuff in a bag and she figured that somehow Bryce must have brought home the "trash" bag instead of his party favor bag-she assured me that Preslie's had not contained the same things and then I felt a little better about it. LOL I honestly bet the parents that threw the party would have been horrified if they had known.

Failing the Recorder

We got first trimester mid term grades back for Chloe. For the most part she is doing really well all A's a couple of B+ and one C+, but then there is her music grade a big fat F. Yep. She's failing music, not because she needs to be, but because she can't or won't play the recorder. Seriously this is her third year playing it, and I know she could do it if she tried, but she doesn't want to, that's just it, and plus I think she thinks it's a little funny to make her teacher frustrated. Oh Chloe! She tells us she won't be doing music in high school anyways so it doesn't matter. That's the thing about Chloe-she is smart, but it has to be her idea or its just not going to happen. #failingtherecorder #middleschool

Softball

Chloe has been playing a lot of softball lately. Landon has pretty much taken over coaching her team so they have been busy. They played in a tournament the first part of October. It was their second tournament as a team and there was definitely improvement from the first time. They even won one of their games this time, the first tournament they lost all of them. Chloe pitched for one of the games and did a really great job. She has really improved in that area and continues to get more accurate and faster. (she has been working with a pitching coach) The other games she caught and played third.
I didn't get very many pictures because I was stuck taking score.

They are just getting ready to start their season in a Fall League, so that means games every Monday for us and busy, busy, busy with softball practices and basketball for the next 8 weeks or so.

At the Movies-LEGO NINJAGO

The newest Lego movie, LEGO NINJAGO, came out and I thought it would be fun to take Bryce and his cousins to see it. My sisters were both worried about me going with that many little kids by myself-HA! Seriously though it went just fine-no problems what so ever. In typical Bryce fashion he slept through half of it. (I wonder if anyone thought they were all mine-thankfully I'm not that crazy! cause I love them all but wouldn't want them all full time.)
The movie was pretty good and the kids had fun, however  I was a little disappointed because THE LEGO MOVIE and LEGO BATMAN were both seriously so good and I just felt like NINJAGO was lacking a little bit.

Because he's just so cute when he's asleep

I just can't help it. I take so many pictures of Bryce when he's asleep. First off, because he's just so cute sleeping. Also, because he falls asleep in some of the funniest ways and places.
Don't worry about the tipped over couch in this picture, we were in he middle of moving some things in Tanner's room and he just ended up finding a comfy spot on it while it was tipped like this. :)
Snore on Buddy. #BryceEE
*Side Note-he still falls asleep and needs naps most days, but he has also started fighting them just a bit.

A little Shock

Bryce had a little shock over the weekend. His Ipad was dead and he wanted me to charge it, so I asked him to bring me the charger something he always does and is perfectly capable of. He went to get it, and I heard him crying. Immediately I knew that he had been shocked or electrocuted, I don't know how I just did. I ran and grabbed him, and sure enough he was holding his fingers. Luckily it wasn't bad enough that it did any real damage, but it gave him a pretty good shock and he cried for a bit, and had a sore hand. I guess what has happened is the charger had been broken for awhile, but Chloe had "repaired it". When Bryce grabbed it, it came apart again, exposing wires and stuff which he then grabbed on to try and pull it out. That's when he got shocked. We threw the charger away and told Chloe no more repairing electronic things they need to just go in the garbage when they are broken. Poor little Bryce :( at least it wasn't any worse than it was.

No Peeking

Bryce always wants to play a game for family night. Sometimes it's a board game, or croquet, but what he really loves to play is hot/cold and hide and seek.

It's just so hard for him to keep his eyes closed while we hide. LOL
No Peeking!

Dixie Round Up Rodeo

Once again we attended the Dixie Round Up Rodeo, this has become one of those traditions that the kids look forward to every year. We ended up sitting right next to the bucking shoots thanks to Landon's work hookups. Tanner didn't come this year since he was working, which is about normal for him these days. Bryce actually stayed awake the entire time this year-bull riding and all. Of course it wouldn't be a rodeo with out some rodeo food-hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, and cotton candy-YUM! Fun night out.

School Pictures

Chloe and Bryce got their school pictures back.

Chloe has a little bit of a silly smile in hers, but I still think it's pretty cute. I didn't have her do retakes, maybe I should have. Oh well. I like it. I can't believe that next year this girl will be a Freshman.

Bryce's pictures turned out so well! I honestly can't get over how cute they are. We love our little guy so much.
Bryce Pre-School
Tanner had his pictures taken for the yearbook but I didn't buy any cause I'm planning to do senior portraits at a later time. EEK! I can't believe he will actually be graduating in May and that this is his senior year.

Ice Cream Mess

The other day Landon and I took Bryce to get ice cream. We needed to visit another store in the same shopping complex so we let Bryce stay out of his car seat while we drove through the parking lot to it. I don't really know what happened besides the fact that all of a sudden Bryce's entire ice cream was sitting on my lap. It was all over me, the steering wheel, and my phone. UGH!!! I was so mad for just a minute, but then we all got a good laugh about it. Unfortunately, I didn't have anything in the car to clean it up with, so I had to drive home before I could take care of the problem.

Building a Fire Pit

A few weekends ago we took a trip to Fillmore.
Landon had a big work agenda planned. We all tried to help him a little bit, but her really did most of the work. On the list: replace the trampoline mat and springs-he did that first-good move on his part it kept the kids occupied all weeked; take down old swing set, and put up a newer one; and build a fire pit and benches.
The beginning
There hasn't been a trampoline at Grandpa and Grandma's house for probably close to a year. The kids loved having one again and spent countless hours. The only injury was Chloe, go figure, she fell off and hit her elbow, but she recovered pretty quickly.

Bryce and Taylee became pretty good friends this trip and had lots of fun on the slide.
Bryce and Beckett both got wore out from all the hard work and play, and took a mid afternoon nap on the lawn.

The fire pit finally finished, now to add gravel.

Completed Project. Landon sure is a handy guy. He can build just about anything he can find a picture of.
It was only fitting to test it out with some smores. Grandpa even joined us.
We all had a great weekend. I'm glad the kids love spending time with their cousins so much. I hope they always do.
I forgot to add it in above, but they were even able to sneak a little time in on the horses, which they always enjoy.

Bringing in the garbage

Bryce loves his great grandma and was so happy the other day when I let him bring in her garbage can from the curb by himself.

Croquet

We have been helping my Grandma Marshall clean out her basement storage and have Landon some fun treasures. One of those is a croquet set. Bryce loves it. He knows how to set it up all by himself and is actually pretty good at it. The other night we played for family night-we gave Bryce a little lead at the started but didn't need to cause he ended up finishing way before us all.

Carpool Good Mornings

One of Bryce's favorite things to do in the morning, while waiting in the carpool drop off line for preschool, is to open the sunroof and stick his head out. Some morning if he gets lucky Preslie is there and doing the same thing. They think it's the best to way good morning to each other through the sunroofs.
