School Pictures

The day after my little accident Chloe had school pictures. One of my neighbors spent almost and hour curling her hair since I was a little bit incapacitated. She looked so cute and so grown up!

Fun Day turns Out in DISASTER!

Last Tuesday started out great the day was overcast keeping the temperature in the low 90's instead of the 100's. We went to the splash pad in the town center with some friends and cousins and we were the only ones there. That never happens usually it so crowed. The kids had a blast running around and playing. I didn't get any pictures until it was time to go.
After the splash pad Tiffanie and I brought our kids to my house. We fed them some lunch and gave them an ice cream cone. Then we started a movie for them. While they were watching the movie we went in my room Tiffanie was working on the computer and I was working on cutting some quilting squares. Then all of a sudden the rotary blade slipped and went right through my index finger on the left hand. We both saw the piece fly and both knew we were headed to the ER. I grabbed a bathroom towel and we headed for Tiffanie's van. Out in the front room Bryce had fallen asleep. I quickly called a neighbor who was home and she came to sit with all the kids while Tiff drove me to the ER. On the way I called Landon and he met us there.

In the ER they first had to give me a shot in my finger and numb it. Then they looked at the damage and took x-rays. I took off a pretty big chunk but it was mostly the flesh and nerves on the end...no bone or vein. They could not stitch it back on. The wrapped it up and sent me home with some pain meds and an appointment to meet with a specialist on Friday.
Friday we met with the specialist. He said he had never had an extreme quilter in before and he gave me the nick name of the red bull quilter. He determined the best thing to do for my finger would be just to let it kind of grow over-it will be a little deformed but he is thinking that it won't be too bad. However, it is going to take a long time to heal and be very painful for awhile. UGH-I hate waiting and being patient-it's so hard not to be able to do the things I want to do. I guess this will be a lesson in patience for me.
Thankfully I have had lots of people take care of me this week.
Landon-took time off work everyday, drove the kids to school, and has taken on a lot of my normal responsibilities.
My Neighbor Ashlie-watched the kids while I was at the ER and did Chloe's hair for school pictures.
My Sister Sandi-brought us Pizza one night and helped a lot with Bryce.
My Sister Tiffanie helped get dinner in the crockpot, brought me yummy smoothies, and hung out.
My Grandma Angie made us dinner.
And lots of other people who called and checked on me everyday. I am lucky to have so much love and support.

Happy 15th Birthday Tanner

Tanner turned 15! Can you believe it?
Just a few years ago he was like this...

Now he is a full blown teenager. Having a teenager definitely has it's challenges, however I have to say overall he is a pretty good kid.
The morning of his birthday Bryce was so excited to get up and help Daddy and Chloe make waffles for Tanner-he even put a candle in them for him.
For his Birthday he had earlier gotten a new phone-however on his actual birthday we took him to the mall and let him get an outfit and then we went out to lunch at his favorite restaurant-Buffalo Wild Wings. I love the pictures of these two bros. I hope they will always have a special friendship. (FYI they have on matching shark shirts in the picture.)
For his birthday cake he of course chose cheesecake-my Grandma Marshall usually makes it for him, but since she is out of town for a few months I had to make it. I would say overall it turned out pretty good for my first time. Grandma Angie came over and we all enjoyed a slice and a nice visit.

Our New Favorite Date Night Treat

We try to have a date night every now and then; although we aren't very consistent and certainly not very spontaneous or creative. Mostly our dates consist of things like getting a movie from the redbox, going out to eat, going to ward temple night,  or every once in awhile going to a movie. The last few weeks we have gotten desert. It has become our new favorite and I can see it becoming a habit-haha! We ordered a blondie dessert from Applebee's to go. The first time we were nice and shared it with the kids. The second time we got smart and saved it until they were all fast asleep and then enjoyed it by ourselves.
YUMMY!!!

Mommy and Bryce

On Wednesday and Thursday we don't tend Preslie, so while the kids are in school Bryce and I have a lot of free time. I try to find fun things for us to do together. Last week we needed to go to the library so I decided we would make a trip out of it and visit the splash pad right next to it while we were there. Bryce brought his dinosaurs along and he had a blast having them jump of the rocks and swim in the water.

Since Judd's is right across the street I decided we would stop by to grab some lunch and an ice-cream cone. Bryce got his favorite-Superman!!! The big kids were both so jealous when they got home and realized where we had gone-they are all huge fans of Judd's.

Wildlife Museum

Last week we went to the Wildlife Museum with Preslie and some of our friends. Bryce was initially excited to go and when we first got there he was excited. Then we had to walk past the alligator and it was all over. For some reason it totally freaked him out! I pretty much had to hold him the whole rest of the time. That is why he isn't in several of the pictures-he was clinging to me while I was trying to take pictures.

I tried to get Bryce to take a picture with my by this bear, but there was no way he was going for it.

Even though he was kind of scared while we were there I think he liked it, because afterwards he told Landon and the kids all about it. As well as talking about the animals for days and days.

First Day of School 2015

School started this week. Can you believe it?! I can't believe summer has already come and gone. The kids were actually both pretty excited to start. After waiting in line for 2.5 hours the day before we were able to get Tanner's schedule worked out so he was happy with his classes and on the right track (Business). Chloe received notice of who her teacher was on Monday-we were all happy to see it was Mr. Bruschke. Chloe also rotates classes a bit this year, and so far she is loving her Language Arts teacher Miss Kerr about the best!

Bryce and Tanner. Brothers and Best Buds.
 Off to School
 10th grader
 two cuties
 6th grader
and we couldn't leave out this cutie pie
Bryce has been a little bit sad to see these guys go to school; although overall he has handled it better than I thought he would. He has been close to tears a few times, but none have fallen yet. After the first day of school he told Tanner he was going to get a backpack and go with him to school and Artic Circle (where Tanner went to lunch that day) the next day. The next morning he said to Tanner, with tears in his eyes, I guess I didn't get a backpack to go with you today. :( It was so sad.
Hopefully this is the start of a great school year!

Cheap Shampoo

Though I don't do as much couponing as I once did I still try to do a little bit. Every once in awhile I luck out and get a really great deal on something. This time it was shampoo, conditioner, and other hair products. I just happened to have a bunch of high value coupons that corresponded with a great sale-making it so I was able to grab all of these items for $1 per bottle. Of course I shared the wealth and let my Mom and Sisters all buy a little of it off me-we should all be good now for several months at least :)

Snapshots of Summer-Final Edition

These two girls love spending time together; they are always up to something; look at these lovely pictures I found on my phone one day.
Brydee's grandparents got horses so a few mornings this summer the girls have been able to go on a ride. Chloe loves it!!!
We were able to go and pick a bunch of peaches at one of my Grandma's fun. It was fun except for the giant beetles that seemed to like the peaches as much as we do-they were a little scary to deal with, but we ended up making it home with a bunch and were able to bottle quite a few one day. Grandma also made some of her famous peach pie several times-YUMMY!!!
Spent a few hours at the splash pad with some of our friends and cousins.
What is summer without ice cream cones? To bad he couldn't stay awake to finish this one-he and my couch were both a huge mess.
