Holes

It's a good thing there is only one week left of school because Bryce has literally worn holes in his school shoes and in his lunchbox. I'm not buying new ones at this point-we can get through 5 more days!!

A Softball Isn't Soft

Landon was out throwing Chloe some balls in the batting cage and ended up with a black eye. He probably needed some stitches as well, but he never went in. It happened on Mother's Day and he didn't want to ruin my day he said. He was behind the screen when it happened, but one of the balls took a crazy shot and made it's way around it somehow. OUCH!!! He sure gets beat up a lot working with her.

Mothers Day Smiles amidst the tears

I can't say that I was super excited for Mother's Day this year. In fact I was so upset that I told Landon not to have the kids get me anything. I cried a lot the few days beforehand and just was so frustrated and fed up with my kids I didn't want them pretending that everything was all fine and good on Mothers Day.

The problem was mainly that Chloe was having super bad and grumpy teenage attitude I just couldn't deal with her negative attitude anymore. She was struggling with some things. She told me she didn't want to play basketball anymore. I was in tears not just because of that but because of everything going on. (We believe a lot of her issues at this time were concussion related). It was all really hard on me. Bryce was having some of his rare but completely out of control moments I'm sure it was just to do with his sensory issues and OCD he was too the point of no reasoning and I was at my breaking point with him-I usually don't get that way, but I was more mad and more frustrated than I have ever been with him in my life-and I yelled hard and loud-which only made things worse. Landon said he was taking the kids to Target and I knew the only reason for this would be to get me a Mother's Day card as he avoids Target like the plague. I told him "do not have them get me a card I don't even want it". When he got home he said I promise what they got you is fitting and you will like it. I wasn't too sure.
But you know. I had time to cool off and reflect. It wasn't all bad. I just had a couple of bad days and a few really bad hours, but the kids were having a hard time to it just happened to fall on Mothers Day.

A few days before Mother's Day Chloe and I went and got pedicures. Just the two of us. It was nice. I told her that could be my Mother's Day gift.
The Saturday before Mother's Day Tanner took the whole family to breakfast once again it was really nice and super thoughtful of him-that was his Mother's Day present to me. He also got up and came to church with us on Sunday (Mothers Day). Usually he doesn't so that was also super thoughtful of him, because it was something he knew I would appreciate.
Sunday Landon got up and had the kids help make breakfast in bed for me. He also cleaned the whole kitchen and made dinner after church.
Bryce actually sat by me on the couch and snuggled for a little bit and even took a picture with me where he was smiling-that never happens-especially the snuggling.

Landon had the kids give me the card they bought and it was actually very fitting and made me laugh.
I really didn't want to celebrate Mothers Day, but honestly there is nothing I love more than being a Mother to my three kids and I love them more than anything even when they are at their most trying moments.

More than just a dent

Sometimes I let Chloe move the vehicles for me. The other day she had moved my card and then thought she needed to pull it back in the garage when she was done. She came and said to me...Mom I think I broke the freezer. I went out to investigate-um not broke completely demolished and my car also suffered some damage to the front-nothing major but some noticeable cosmetic stuff. UGH! And then she wants me to take her to get her learners permit-I'm not so sure I want to-HA!HA!

Peanut Butter Everywhere

The other day Bryce asked me if he could use some peanut butter so that he could build a trap for some birds. I said sure. I was thinking you know he might set up a cup or box and put a little peanut butter in it or something like that. What I wasn't expecting was to walk out my front door and find peanut butter smeared all up and down my driveway-and it did not look good either. It looked like some animal had been sick all over the place.

I tried not to be too upset, and took a few deep breaths, and then just laughed about it. I mean what else could I do? At least he was voluntarily touching peanut butter that months ago he wouldn't even look at, so I guess it was a step in the right direction.
Cleaning off the driveway was no easy task!

Helping in the Yard

Bryce likes to help out in the yard. He doesn't usually last long, but he is willing to get in and help for a few minutes. One thing he is always willing to do is work in the garden-he loves planting and picking the stuff.
Last week we let him try trimming some of the bushes. He thought that was pretty fun!

Landon spends so much time making sure our yard looks nice. Sometimes I get annoyed because I want him to do something else with me besides work on the yard-HA! But I truly and grateful that he cares so much and puts so much pride and effort into it.

Mandt Training and Hatchet Throwing

I had to travel up to Salt Lake for work to attend a training. (MANDT) Luckily I was able to go with one of my friends, Kelsie. We tried to make the best of the long hours of sitting and listening. Unfortunately it was pretty cold so even though we brought our pickleball stuff to play we weren't really able to. We did kind of just goof off at some tennis courts across the street from where our training was for about 10 minutes during a break, but that was about the extent of it.
We searched for ideas of something fun to do the one night we had to stay up there and we finally found it. Hatchet Throwing! Neither of us had ever done it before and it sounded interesting and fun, so we decided to give it a go. It was actually a lot of fun and we both said we would definitely do it again.

We had fun and learned lots, but I was happy to get back home. We rolled into town just in time for the start of Chloe's last softball game of the season-so glad I didn't have to miss it.

An Early Morning Call to 911

What should have been a great weekend ended on a bad note. Landon's parents were in town as well as my Mom and Grandma to see one of Chloe's softball games. My sister Tiffanie and her kids came to support as well. The game went great. Chloe pitched varsity and the team got their 1st and only win of the season. It was awesome to have all the family there to see it.
Afterwards my Grandma and Mom went to a hotel for the night and Landon's parents came to our house to stay. We had a nice visit and then went to bed-we were all pretty tired, especially Chloe.

At about 3 in the morning a heard a big crash. I didn't know what it was but I woke Landon up and told him I thought someone had fallen. He jumped out of bed to go and investigate. Sure enough his Dad had somehow tumbled down our entire flight of stairs. It was horrible to find him like that and very traumatic. I quickly called 911. Amidst all off the chaos everyone woke up. The kids watched anxiously from atop the stairs. There was a lot of blood and we weren't exactly sure what was wrong, but at least he was being responsive. Soon enough the paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital. Landon drove his Mom and they followed behind.

After that the two younger kids and I couldn't really sleep so we all piled into my bed and watched some early early morning cartoons while we awaited news from the hospital.
We finally heard back and luckily he was okay. He had to have some stitches on his head and be put in a sling because he broke his collar bone. We were so glad he was okay and that it wasn't any worse. I know it was pretty traumatic for everyone especially Landon who was the one who found him. Hopefully we never have to call 911 again but super grateful that something like that exists for when you do need it.

April Book Recap

2 Books in April. I liked them both for different reasons.
4/5 for Rules
5/5 for the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Easter

We started out our Easter by decorating Easter Eggs with our cousins.

Bryce was super stoked that Aunt Sandi and Chloe used their artistic skills and made him some Pokemon eggs.
Chloe made a softball
All ready to hit the sand hills.

The Easter Bunny always has fun finding little treats and trinkets to stuff each kids Easter basket with.

We made the trek to Fillmore to spend Easter with Landon's family. The kids woke up and found their baskets and then hunted for some eggs.

After awhile we headed out to the sand hills for the traditional family get together.

Bryce had fun flying his kite.
This picture accurately depicts what happens at the sand hills every year. Wind blowing sand and dirt in your eyes and in your food. LOL. Poor Bryce
Making tunnels to roll eggs down.

Despite the wind. People usually still have a pretty good time.
Later that afternoon we all met up at the Fillmore City pool to have a surprise party for Makeles 16th Birthday.

We went home Saturday night so we could spend Easter and have Easter dinner with Tanner.
Great weekend with the family.
