Headaches

Poor Bryce he has been getting a lot of headaches lately. It's hard to know what they are from. I don't know if they are related to him not eating and drinking enough, or if they could be sinus related, or if he is getting migraines (which runs in the family). I hope we can figure it out. I feel so bad for him. He will say his head hurts and then 80 percent of the time he falls asleep. Hopefully we can figure it out soon.

Sunday Hike-Anasazi Trailhead

I can't believe that we have lived in St. George for almost 20 years and we are just barely visiting or discovering some of these places for the 1st time. We truly live in a great place to be able to get outdoors and explore. This week we went to some Anasazi Trailhead. We were able to hike to the top of a hill and look at some truly amazing petroglyphs.

Mookie was so tired after our adventure.

HOT AND COLD- differences in personality

Chloe and I are some much alike in a lot of ways-our competitive nature, our love of doing new things, and somewhat our looks. That being said we are completely opposite in a lot of things. She likes to have music on constantly. I crave and need the quiet. I like to sit and read, her not so much. She likes to go fast and is a thrill seeker. I like to try new things but prefer a slower pace and thrill seeking isn't so much my thing. She loves to be outside all the time and could camp for weeks at a time. I'm good for a few days, but give me a shower and my own bed after that. She likes the windows down and the wind blowing in her air. I want the windows up. She loves softball I want her to love basketball ;)
One day after we had argued about something on the way to school-I don't even know what. (That's another thing about her-she purposely tries to argue with me or push my buttons because it's fun for her to get a reaction.) But anyways I know I was upset by the time she got out of the car. After she got out I looked down and saw the air controls and I just laughed.
I am always cold and want the heat on. She is always hot and wants the A.C. on full blast.
This isn't just about the air controls it's an analogy about us just like our personalities HOT and COLD but I wouldn't want her to be any other way even if sometimes if makes like a little bit conflicting. We usually work things out and have a good time despite our differences.

Snoozing Doodle

Almost nothing cuter than a sleeping doodle-especially when he is snuggled up next to you.

Pig at School

Our classroom had a special visitor come in-a cute little pig. I grabbed Bryce and Preslie to come take a look. They thought it was pretty cute, but Bryce didn't really want to touch it.

Maybe this is the reason Bryce still has a hard time with bacon or ham. They are still some of the foods we can't even get him to put in his mouth. Maybe he thinks of "pigs" when he eats them...

Beckett's Growth

**Don't Look if you don't want to see something potentially gross**

We noticed that Becket seemed to have a problem with his ear, when we would scratch it he would yelp. Upon further investigation we noticed something pretty big growing inside of it. We took him into the vet and they determined that they were going to have to do surgery to remove it. Apparently this sort of things happens with Cocker Spaniel ears quite frequently. He seems to be doing better now that we took it out, however we can tell he is starting to get old, at times he has trouble walking or getting up, but at least he'll probably be around for a few more years.

Parade of Homes

I won some tickets to the St. George Parade of Homes. I was super excited, because that used to be something I would go to every year with my Grandma although I haven't been in several years. Also my friend Lisa, did the interior of one of the homes so I really wanted to see it. It lasts for a couple of weeks so I had time to visit a lot of the homes that were in it. My friend Amy went with me to some of them, Tanner and Chloe went with me to several another day, and I even got Landon to go with me one day. It was fun to see some new ideas and trends.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

We don't usually do a lot for Valentines Day. We are usually at ball games and this year was no different. We do give each other cards and go out to dinner, sometimes a day early or later and Landon always get me chocolate covered strawberries. MMMMM
They are my favorite. I love that he makes sure to do this every year. It's the little things :)

Two Front Teeth

Bryce's  2 front teeth have been loose for forever. Not joking at least 5 months. The dentist said not to worry to much about it unless they started to hurt him. Part of the reason they just were loose in his mouth was because he doesn't eat anything very hard or crunchy most of the foods he eats are soft.
Well one day at school he comes home with a tooth necklace, they give them one if they loose a tooth at school to put their tooth in for safe keeping. I asked him how he lost a tooth and he said-someone hit him in the mouth in P.E., on accident, and knocked it out-haha poor kid, what a way to finally lose his tooth.
Then about a week later him and Tanner were play wrestling and Tanner accidentally hit his mouth with his knee and the other tooth popped out. So Bryce literally had both his teeth knocked out.

What's in the Big Orange Box?

We have literally waited months and months for this big orange box to arrive. We started trying to get one clear back in October and finally were able to order one, but it was on back order. You can only imaging Bryce's excitement when we got home from school one day to see this sitting on the doorstep. I mean look at that smile!
What is it?
It's called a nugget comfort. Only the best piece of versatile furniture built specifically for kids. For kids to sit on, jump on, slide on, build forts with, and anything else they can come up.

YaY!!! #nuggetcomfort

Echo-cardiogram

Bryce's doctor wanted him to have an Echo-cardiogram done, just to double check on what he thought could be a slight heart murmur. How fitting that is was scheduled on Valentines Day.

Bryce was really brave through the whole process, even when Chloe told him a few wild tales of what they were going to do to him.

Everything checked out and his heart was fine, which is great news :)

Star Wars Valentines

Bryce wanted a Star Wars Valentine box. With the help of his Daddy they whipped up a pretty cool BB8. I printed out some cute Star Wars Chewie Valentines to go with it, and he was set.
I got to help with his class party as well. My center was minute to win it games with candy hearts. I love not working on Fridays this year and being able to help out with his class parties. I think Bryce and Preslie both really like it when I come. He made this craft at one of the centers. I forgot to take pictures at my center ;(

Sweet Rolled Tacos

Chloe and I have both wanted to try Sweet Rolled Tacos out, but the line was always long or we ended up doing something else instead. However, I got a gift card for there for my birthday so we finally went. Chloe had a birthday cake one and I had mint chocolate chip. They were pretty good a little pricey though. We will probably go back at least once more since I have a buy one get one coupon and some money left on my gift card. It's fun to try new places and new treats.

Feeding Therapy Update

We started back into regular feeding therapy for Bryce again at the beginning of the year. His OT/feeding therapist is working hard to make sure Bryce is able to get consistent appointments weekly (something that isn't always easy to do) sometimes he even see's Bryce at 5:00 pm just to make it work out. We have also been trying really hard at home to make sure we are doing what we are supposed to. And guess what we are seeing results-he is more willing to try something or maybe even eat a few bites of it and there are a few foods we could even now consider part of his diet which we couldn't before. We are all going to work hard and really hope that when we reach our 18 allotted visits mark this year he will be where he needs to be or at least close to it.
Here is a picture of his homework, some of these things he wouldn't have even looked at a year ago.

Sunday Hike-Owen's Loop

This Sunday we went hiking at Owen's Loop. It is a nice little trail up above St. George, not to strenuous, but with some great views.

37 years old

I turned 37 this year. Nothing to exciting. My friends, sisters, family, student and coworkers gave me some nice treats and notes. Landon and the kids bought me a new pickleball net and we went out to dinner. It was a nice day surrounded by the people I love.
And yes I am getting old-closer to 40 every day-my friends made sure to remind me of this. HA!

First Haircut

We took Mookie in to the groomer for the first time. He got a puppy cut. Pretty much they just trim his face up a little bit and bath him and get him used to the process.
They really brushed his hair and made him look nice. When we walked out everyone in the store commented on how cute he was.
Of course we took the opportunity for some pictures in his new Red Sox bandanna.
(too bad his namesake was traded to the Dodgers not long after) Oh well the name stays, but were not switching teams.

Sunday Hike- Babylon Arch

For our Sunday Hike this week we went to Babylon Arch. It is in Leeds. It is a little bit out of the way and not exactly marked great to get there, but we finally found our way. Probably another of those times we should have put the coordinates in our GPS. Oh well. We made it. It was a lovely day and the weather was perfect.

More Pictures of the Dood

A few more I couldn't resist sharing-I mean look at that face ;)

Disneyland Day 3

Our last day at Disney we hit the ground running and didn't stop until the park closed. We road so many rides this day and had the time of our lives.
We started out on some of the smaller and slower paced rides that we hadn't been on yet- the teacups, the train, and it's a small world.

Then we went to toon town and saw Mickey and rode some of the smaller rides there.

We went over to California Adventure to ride the Cars Ride one last time and we also went on Soarin while we were over there.
After that we went back to the Disney side and stayed there. We went on Space Mountain twice, Buzz light year twice, Star Tours, and Tomorrow Land.

We went on Big Thunder Mountain 4 times this day-It was crazy!
WE just kept redeeming one of our Max Passes every chance we got and ran from ride to ride.

Close to closing time we hit up Autotopia. Bryce had fun driving us around the track.
Then we had time for a quick late night visit to Star Wars Land. We didn't get on the Galaxy's Edge   Ride this day-but we are glad we got on it 2 out of the 3 days we were there. We did go on the Millennium Falcon-Smugglers Run though.

Bryce was so tired. We made it out of the park and to the bench to wait for our bus and he fell asleep. I ended up taking a taxi back rather than waiting for the bus and trying to carry him on to that.
The next morning it was time to go home. We flew home as our ride down was going somewhere else before they journeyed home. Bryce asked if we could please just go to Disneyland for a few hours until it was time to get on the plane-HA! I wish. We had a layover in Mesa, so we were able to see my Mom for a few hours and go to lunch with her.
Bryce was pretty worn out from all the excitement so he slept most of the plane ride.
We had so much fun and can't wait to go back. We are already trying to decide when our next trip will be.
We
