Baby Goats

We had baby goats come to visit my class, so I went and got Bryce and Preslie for a few minutes to let them come and see them as well. Bryce wasn't too sure about them especially when one kissed him on the nose first thing. He would touch them lightly but didn't want to really hold them. Preslie sat right down and snuggled up with one.

Softball Cupcakes

Another Mom and I were in charge of one of the team softball dinners. I had seen a fun idea on Pinterest, with cupcakes made into a softball, so I asked one of my friends to make it for us. She made it and it turned out great-the only problem was when I picked it up it was white like a baseball, not yellow. I knew with Chloe as a daughter there was no way I could show up to a softball dinner with a baseball cake...so I quickly called my sister Tiffanie and she fixed it for me. A little spray food coloring and we no longer had a baseball. The girls liked the cupcakes but they liked the food even more. We served tacos and they ate every bit of them. In fact I thought I would be able to eat one, but I didn't get one quick enough so I came home afterwards and had a bowl of cereal instead. #momlife #softballlife

Bookfair

I love the scholastic book fair and so do my kids. We look forward to it each year. There is one thing I never say no to and that is books-HA! I always spend way to much money when the book fair is in town. Although this year I did pretty good sticking to the budget I gave myself. It helped that it was the BOGO book fair, so double the books for less money.

Here are some of the fun books Bryce picked out.
Of course there are a couple of Pokemon books. We also found a two by Mo Willems an author he is loving right now. They are fun to read together because him and I take turns reading as the different characters. He also really loves funny books and Creepy Pair of Underwear fit the bill for that.

His favorite book right now though is this Pokemon Handbook that he got at the last book fair. He reads it everyday. Reading the names, powers and weights of the different Pokemon. Sometimes if I tell him to choose a story for me to read to him this is what he chooses.
He has gone through similar phases with Marvel and Lego Encyclopedias. Apparently he likes all those facts and details. What a funny kid. I'm just glad he loves to read as much as he does.

Hopefully we got our book fix for awhile now since the next book fair is months away.

Pokemon Obsessed

The other day Bryce asked me to get him some pajamas out. I asked which ones he wanted and he said the Pokemon ones. Okay so...that's like pretty much every pair. HA! He might have a slight Pokemon obsession or maybe I just need to stop buying him Pokemon things-but he just loves them so much its hard. LOL

Buddies

My Sister Mandy was in town for Saydee's track meet so Bryce and I met up with them and took Hanxton with us for a little bit. Hanxton and Bryce are really good buddies and it's fun to get them together. Hanxton literally never stops talking the whole time-Ha! He's such a funny kid and Bryce and I enjoy listening to him. He will say something funny and Bryce will just look at me and smile. We always have too much time in between visits, hopefully we will get to see them again soon.

Celebrating Landon's Birthday

For Landon's Birthday Tanner took him to a Redsox game in Arizona. Redsox vs the Arizona Diamondbacks.  Unfortunately the only picture I got was this one of Landon walking into the airport wearing his custom Redsox jersey (a Christmas gift from Tanner). You know how boys are...they aren't too worried about getting any pictures. Landon took a few of the actual game, but none of him and Tanner at the game-ha!

They flew out of St. George, however they weren't able to find a return flight back to the St. George airport, so they flew into Vegas instead, and the two younger kids and I drove down to pick them up.

We decided to go out for a birthday dinner at The Cheesecake Factory while we were down there. Bryce actually devoured his spaghetti noodles (with nothing on them)-it was funny to watch.

I think everyone had a good weekend. Happy Birthday Landon!

First Trader Joe's Visit

We don't have a Trader Joe's in St. George. I always see peoples blogs or posts about going or hear people I work with talk about the yummy stuff they get there when they go to visit. The kids and I ended up having to go and pick Tanner and Landon up at the Vegas airport on his birthday, so I decided we would go a little bit early and sneak a trip to Trader Joe's in. Seriously we got so much good stuff and at such good prices. The kids were so funny-they tried one of each thing on the way to the airport. Well Chloe tried one of each thing, Bryce tried several but not everything :) From now on if I am going out of town to somewhere that has a Trader Joe's I will try and make a stop and grab a few things.

We got a few other things as well, but these were our favorites and the things I felt like were a good deal.

Red Reef Trail

The two younger kids and I hiked the Red Reef Trail located in the Red Cliffs Recreation Area. This is a short scenic hike perfect for anyone. The trail head for this hike is located in the Red Cliffs Recreation campground. However, it was an extremely busy weekend and the campground and parking in the campground was full, so we had to park in the overflow parking which is quite a hike into the campground. Unfortunately Bryce had new hiking shoes on and one of them was rubbing his foot funny, so by the time we got to the trail head his heel was bleeding and he wasn't very happy. I just had him take his shoes off and he was able to do the actual hike without shoes on. At a few points along the way you could jump into the water, it didn't take much to convince Chloe to take the plunge. Bryce was having nothing to do with it-he does not like dirty water.
Bryce's poor heel

We decided it would be best if he went without a shoe

We had fun and luckily a quick call to Landon and Tanner got us a ride back from the trail head to the overflow parking when we were finished. I know this picture of myself isn't the most flattering, but I'm trying to really focus on making memories with my kids and not worry so much about how I might look.

New Backyard Projects

We have some new backyard projects going on this Spring. We are making two additions back there. Landon is putting in a batting cage and also building a gazebo. We are also putting in a garden. There has been a lot of rain this year so it has been time to find the time to work back there, but every chance he gets when it's dry enough he has been back there slaving away. I can't say that I'm much help at all, but I did help move a few rocks and do a little painting. Everything is coming along and we are working toward building the backyard of our dreams-I'm sure it will still be a few years before we have it finished, but we are getting closer all of the time.

Batting Cage

Gazebo

For the most part the Gazebo is done however we still plan to add a few lights and a couple more swings for additional seating.

Garden
We planted a blackberry vine, peas, tomatoes, and jalapeno peppers.

Things are coming together. Now if we could just get the weather to cooperate. We have had more rain here this year than we have in years and it makes it kind of hard to get anything done outside. It is so nice to finally have the space though to do something with-we waited a long time to have a yard like this.
