Eye Infection

Chloe woke up with her eye swollen and hurting. I was able to get her in to see the eye doctor and said she had an infection in her eye, caused by something getting into it. He put her on an antibiotic for 10 days to clear it up.

Unfortunately this would be the start of eye problems for her :(

Dixie Basketball (6)

Last Saturday Chloe's team played 2 more games. They lost the first, but they won the second. YAY! It was so awesome to finally see them get a win. It wasn't an easy win. The game was super aggressive and they had to work for it every minute. I was glad Chloe didn't foul out or get in a fight. She came close on both accounts. HA! One of her team mates actually did foul out. The girls all really worked together and everyone helped get the win. Chloe made all of her foul shots and that was good, because we really needed the points from them. Go Dixie!!!

This is a great shot of her making one of her foul shot shots. Her form is great. She shot them with nobody on the court because the time had run out.
This is one of my favorite pictures. It's hard to see her, but she's the one with the black shirt under the blue jersey who is grabbing the ball in the mix of everyone. She is really good at rebounding.

He didn't even make it to Primary

Last week Bryce didn't even make it to Primary before he fell asleep. He actually fell asleep during Sacrament meeting and then we took him to our family history class with us and let him keep sleeping on the floor while we did our work.
1 o'clock church is rough on the little guy. #BryceEE
Sometimes I wish I could join him. ;)

Valentines

Bryce is the only one of the kids to still hand out Valentines. He was excited. Of course he wanted Lego Batman. We found some cute printables on Etsy and paired them with Lego batman blind bags, which we got a good deal on from Ebay. He wrote his name on all of them, which was a pretty big undertaking, but he did it diligently even changing the color of the marker he was using to match the valentine.

On Valentines Chloe had a scrimmage game and of course Tanner had to work. Landon ended up working late and just making it to the last few minutes of Chloe's game. Before the game I bought a heart shaped pizza and some bread sticks as well as some red cookie dough made that for Chloe and Bryce for dinner. After Chloe's game Landon and I went out for Dinner. We went to a new Mexican Restaurant in town called Ninfa's. I really like it. One of my favorite things about it is the table side guacamole, which they make fresh right in front of you.
Of course I got some chocolate covered strawberries.
MMMM-definitely my favorite part.

A few days before Valentines Bryce and I made some heart shaped cookies to hand out. I frosted he did the sprinkles.

Happy Valentines Day

Dixie Basketball (5)

Chloe had two more games on Saturday. They lost both again. It's hard sometimes to keep losing, but they are getting better. In fact in the first game they were actually ahead for most of the first half. Then the other team started full court pressing and since Chloe is the only one on her team who knows how to break a full court press or run one it didn't end well. They are improving though and that's what matter. Chloe had an awesome game on defense, but her offense was off just a little bit. Her shots seemed flat. She only scored 3 points in each game and that's low for her. Her 3 points in the second game-were a three. She did some good bounce passes (something she is working on) but threw several bad passes as well (the whole team was struggling on that one). She played most of the first game, and the entire second game. In between the two games she asked me to get her a cheeseburger-HA! I gave her a banana instead and said cheeseburger after or you won't even be able to run up and down the court. She didn't think that was very fair, and thought she might starve in the meantime. Crazy girl. I love her though. She's a fighter that's for sure.

36 Years

Last week I turned 36. That's hard to believe. It was a pretty low key. A few days before my birthday my Mom and Grandma took me out to lunch, they had to do it early since my Mom was headed back to Arizona. Then day before my birthday I went out to lunch with a couple of my friends Amy and Tara. On my birthday the kids and Landon gave me some presents and then that night after Chloe got done with practice we went out to dinner at the Olive Garden. Chloe asked them to sing to me. They said "will you help us" and she told them "no" HA. They still came and sang and brought us this delicious desert to share. On Saturday Tanner took me to lunch because he wasn't able to go to dinner with us on my actually birthday since he was at work. It was a nice little lunch with just the two of us. Saturday Landon also took me shopping. It was part of his present. He told me he wasn't good at getting stuff, and he had been so busy at work that this was his gift to me. It was thoughtful, because Landon hates shopping with me. He does not enjoy it. He usually avoids stores at all costs. I know it was extremely painful for him, but I appreciate him for doing it and I got some nice new clothes out of the deal.
Bryce was a little disappointed that I didn't have a birthday cake, but I told him sometimes when you get older you don't really want one, because you chose yummy deserts like the one at Olive Garden instead. He wasn't sold.
Thankful I got to celebrate with my family and friends.

Dashboard Chats

We do a lot of driving Chloe to practices and games. Which means we also do a lot of sitting in the car waiting. Bryce always likes to get out of his seat and come up front with me while we wait. Lately he likes to climb up on the dashboard and wait, we have some good conversations this way. He's like a little lizard laying in the sun to warm up.

Groundhogs Day

For Groundhogs day I made some fun cookies with my students at school.
Then when I got home I made Groundhog pancakes for Bryce. He liked them even though Mom isn't the best at creative things like that-he had the general idea, plus he thought they tasted good.

The real groundhog saw it's shadow so that's supposed to mean 6 more weeks of winter, but it hasn't been feeling very 'winterish' around here the past week (it's been in the 70's), but maybe that will change.

And Once Again He's Asleep

When he's ready to fall asleep. Nothing will stop him. Not even the excitement of getting a new bike.

Spelling

Bryce was practicing for a spelling test and the results are pretty funny. He was trying to spell ditch, but it is common in kids his age to reverse letters like b, d, p, etc. HAHA! If he was spelling simple words like and and the it wouldn't be a problem.
Big words for a little guy. Proud of our good speller.

Dixie Basketball (4)

Another week of Basketball Games. 2 More losses, but seriously the best ball I've seen played by Chloe all year, in fact probably by her whole team in general. She was aggressive both offensively and defensibly and just had great games. She only sat out for a few minutes each game so she saw a lot of playing time. She even managed to make a three point shot, but she also made several great passes to team mates, which resulted in them scoring point.
I  remembered the camera so I was able to get some great pictures.

After the game a few parents came up and told Chloe how good she was. One of them said how does it feel to be the best player on the team. After he walked away Chloe was like "why would he say that his daughter is on the team?" HA. I was like because it's true Chloe. Her coach also came up to us after the game and said "Chloe you're pretty much the best player we have so we need to utilize you more. What position do you like to play best?" She told him, but afterwards was like he's the coach why doesn't he just tell me where he wants me to play." Sometimes I don't think she realizes how good she is. Sure she has lots of things to work on and areas she can improve in, but she really is good. We are proud of her.

Love watching her play!
