MORE CAR TROUBLES

Yeah so apparantley my car is some kind of WEIRD machine. It has a special engine in it not what most of the cars just like it have, but something special which makes it so anytime you have to fix something on it you have to pay extra money. (Unfortunately we didn't know this when we bought it.) It's a SAUB Engine. So anyways here is the story apparantley two years ago when we replace the battery you can't just put any batterey in it. It has to be some special one with a certain number of cranking amps and all of this mechanical jargon. Except most normal part stores would have no clue and only the best mechanics would. Anyways two year ago when we replaced the battery we unknowingly put the wrong one in, so for the last two years we have been burning up wiring; and relay systems; and alot of stuff in the car-without even knowing it.
Well the last few weeks my care has been saying weird things and the clock has been going all haywire, so we thought it was the battery, so we took it to Checker and they tested it and said no it's fine, but then when they put the battery back in the car wouldn't start at all. So they said it was the starter. We finally got the car home; and Landon took the starter into ABC AUTO and they said yeah it's bad-so he paid $380 which is actually about $100 less than what the dealer told us. So he put the new starter in and yeah the car still won't start. So last night we called up a tow truck for $25 to haul the car into Midas to hook it up to their computer and figure out what in the heck was going on.

Well they figured it out all right and luckily were able to redo a bunch of stuff and put the right battery in for a grand total of $552. I did have a 10% off coupon so it brough it down to $493 which isn't much though in the grand scheme of things.

So anyways a Grand TOTAL of $898 plus a new starter we didn't actually need, but decided to keep since it would probably be next to go out.

Obviously this just isn't out year what with Landon's hand and all the problems we've had with our car. I feel like someone up there is saying let's just give the Ellison's one more trial and see if they still turn in their tithing.

Happy Birthday Tanner

Since we were going to be in Flowell for the weekend and since Landon's whole family was going to be there we just decided to have Tanner's Birthday party there. Some of my family came up too, so we had quite the bash. Tanner had an awesome Transformers cake that Grandma Tawnia made for him, and of course he got spoiled. We set up the big water slide and filled the horse trough to use for a swimming pool. So Redneck I know, but the kids LOVE IT! We also filled up about 500 water balloons and played a little bit of water balloon volleyball along with just throwing the majority of them. Grandpa also got out the lawn tractor and took the kids for rides. The kids all had a blast. It was a fun day for Tanner. I can't believe he is nine years old now.

Cowgirl Chloe

Chloe was so excited to be going to Flowell this weekend because she couldn't wait to ride the horses. Landon had promised her he would let her and that's all she would ask "is it time to ride the horses yet?" She finally got to and before to long she was out there riding all by herself she could turn and stop and even with a lot of effort and a little bit of kicking get the horse to go. She is a true cowgirl at heart. In fact she asked me if she could get a horse for Christmas this year. I told her I was afraid not this time.

Do I Need To Say Anymore

Do I need to say anymore or does this picture say it for me. This little girl definately has an attitude and a mind of her own.

TRUE STORY

Okay so yesterday I took some waterballoons to scouts with us thinking they would be a fun and seemingly harmless way for the boys to have fun. Let's just say my plan backfired.
Landon being the good sport that he is told the boys they could use him as a target so we let them see how far away he could get and they could still hit him, he would move back a little every time they hit him. Towards the end though he started throwing them back and of course it turned into a waterfight. Here's the un-believable part. One of the boys throws a balloon at Tanner it doesn't pop, so Tanner joining in the fun picks it back up and throws it at the boy-it pops! At this point the boy just gets this look of pure evil on his face and starts yelling and running towards Tanner. I am thinking WHAT THE HECK!. Then he gets to Tanner and just starts punching him as hard as he can, Tanner is just trying to get away. I at that point lost it and started yelling at the kid and had to go pry him off of Tanner. Yeah and there is a cop sitting right there in the parking lot watching the whole thing-due to the fact that a couple of youth who were using the church as well decided to prank call the police. We finally got the situation diffused, but boy was I upset. I mean yeah this kid might have some problems, but nothing more than any other kid, and why would he think it is alright to ever act like that. EVER!!
I later told Tanner that I was glad he turned the other check, but I didn't pay for 3 years of Karate and almost a black belt for him to take that. I told him he was never to let someone hit him like that again-he was to defend himself at all costs. OKAY so am I a bad parent to tell him this?

Cub Scout Day Camp-Cubstruction

On Friday we took our scouts to Cub Scout Day Camp. It was called CUBSTRUCTION! For those of you who don't know Landon and I are the WOLF leaders. We have 3 boys, and we ended up taking all 3. The boys had lots of fun learning about and playing with tools. The were able to make gingerbread houses, build their own tool boxes, plus tons more. Overall we had a blast, but towards the end I was ready to string a couple of boys up a flag pole and leave them there. It was kind of a long day for them though from 3-8 so I have to give them credit for being as good as they were. I also have to give Great Grandma credit who had Chloe for this entire time, and if you know Chloe she was going a hundred the whole time as well. Grandma was probably ready to string her up. LOLAnyways it was a pretty good day and I think the boys all enjoyed it, when we dropped on of the kids off he gave Landon a big hug. That's pretty good thanks I think.

Poodles, and Bears, and Rides OH MY

Well the Washington County Fair is in town. We decided to go Wednesday night which was Family Night. Which means all rides are .50 (normally between $1.00-$2.00 each) so it was a pretty good deal.
We saw the great bear show, and also a poodle show with a little magic thrown in. Landon got called out of the audience to help and the whole time he was up there I just knew something was going to happen to his hand-Thankfully it didn't.We went on a few rides, and ran into some family who had a horse there so of course Chloe went for a ride. Then the whole time we were on the actually rides she kept asking if she could go ride the horse again. I had her ride the Merry Go Round Instead which seemed to please her well enough she kept saying look mom I can ride with no hands. Silly Silly Girl.I think the kids had fun although it made for a pretty late night on a school day. Chloe was crying by the time we got home, and both of them were asleep in record time.

Peach Pie and Salsa

My Grandma and I have been busy this week. On Tuesday we made Fresh Peach Pie and we also bottled 26 pints of salsa.-Yummy I am very excited about the salsa we used up the last of ours from last year a couple of months ago and haven't been able to find anything store bought that we really liked. On Wednesday we had more peaches to do something with so we froze them to use in stuff like smoothies, pies, and coblers. Thursday we did a little bit of corn and froze that as well.
I am really glad I have my Grandma right here close so that we can work on projects like this together and so that she can teach me stuff so one day if I have to I will know how to do it myself.

First Day of School

The big day is finally here. I just got back from dropping the kids off at their first day of school. FYI-I didn't cry though I will admit I felt like it. The kids were both so excited tonight and then this morning. Hopefully the will continue to stay excited and want to go for the rest of the year. They both looked so cute in their school clothes all ready to go. Now what am I going to do all day?

Wed.-Sat.

This has been a busy week and our last official week of summer. I can't believe that school starts tomorrow!

Anyways on Wednesday night Landon took the kids and I up to my parents house to spend a few days while we had the chance. The kids were excited to get there. Grandma Tawnia taught Tanner how to make hats while we were there and he took right to it. It was so cute to see him knitting away. He finished his whole hat in about a day. He said that since his summer job(mowing Great Grandma's lawn) was almost over he was going to need a winter job so he guessed he could make hats and sell them. So if any of you need a custom winter hat for the kiddos just give Tanner a call I'm sure he'll make you a good deal. FYI they really do look good.
On Thursday we went on a little drive to Red Creek Reservoir by Cedar City. The lake is really pretty and out of the way so there was hardly anyone there, but it was so dang cold and windy we only stayed about an hour before we left. We did catch a couple of HUGE (JK) fish though.
On Friday I went up to a wedding with my parents and Grandma. The kids stayed in Fillmore-Chloe stayed and played with Saydee, and Tanner went to Grandpa and Grandma Ellison's. Him and Grandpa had a little party for Grandma since it was her birthday-complete with dinner at Larry's and a Birthday Cake next time you see Tanner ask him about the Birthday candles and Grandpa. hahaSaturday we picked a bunch of peaches at Ken's house. While we picked the kids dined on fresh blackberries.YUM Then we decided it would be just as easy to bottle the peaches in Fillmore as it would be to take them home and do it, so we set up a canning line at Brad's house and bottled up 29 jars. The kids enjoyed just being able to run around and play outside with their cousins while we did this. The boys had sword fights and Grandpa took the three little ones hunting for deer-with fake guns of course. It was a long but good day. Landon picked us up in Cedar later that night and brought us home.

More Cousins

On Friday we headed up North for a baby blessing. It was our nephew Aiden, Brenda and Jeff's Baby. The kids have been seeing the Chuck-E-Cheese commercial on tv and kept asking to go there. Since we don't have one in St. George I told them we could go when we went to Ogden. So on Saturday we went there for lunch. With Brenda, Jeff, Makele, Jack and Aiden. The kids had a blast.
We stayed at Taryn and Jeremy's house while we were up there. Chloe absolutely loves Laney and Tanner and Dustin are great buddies.
The Blessing was really nice and we had good dinner and a nice conversation with the family. It was a good weekend for everyone.
Chloe all worn out after a long weekend...
