8th Grade Graduation

Chloe graduated from 8th grade and GWA. It's crazy to think that she started out Kindergarten at GWA and has been there the past 9 years. WOW!!!
Here is a comparison photo Kindergarten Graduation to 8th Grade Graduation
Chloe has had some good years at GWA. She has made great friends and had really good teachers. I know she is ready to move on, but it will be sad not seeing her every day when I come in from my lunch break and riding to and from work with her every day at least I'll have Bryce to keep me company.

A few days before Graduation Chloe was able to go on the 8th Grade Field Trip. It was a leadership type field trip and helped build leadership skills and friendships. She loved it because it was all outdoors and had lots of fun activities like rock climbing and repelling. One of the ladies I went with went as a chaperon and sent me some pictures.

I was in charge of 8th grade graduation. So we had some fun with the decorations and food even though it was a lot more work than I thought it was initially going to be. Especially, the balloon arch which took me 3 separate trips across town to transport the whole thing. Luckily my mom and some of the awesome people I work with as well as a few parents helped out, so I didn't have to do everything myself.
I think everything turned out really nice.
Here is some of the stuff we did.
We had a local company donate cupcakes, but with the help of the ladies I work with we made these cute graduation cupcake toppers.

We took a class photo and had a nice 'subway art' style picture collage made with all of the 8th graders names.

Of course we had the balloon arch and some other fun balloons...

We also did a Candy Buffet in the school colors. It was fun finding and ordering candy that was red, white, and blue. I think the candy buffet was a hit. I found a cute sign on Pinterest to complete the table.
Then just like that all the planning and preparing was over and it was graduation time.
Like I said before definitely a bitter sweet moment. We are super proud of our girl.
WAY TO GO CHLOE!!!

She's a Freshman now!

Kanab Softball Tournament

We traveled to Kanab, Utah for a softball tournament. Chloe's team did well. They won both of their games the first day, and lost a couple and won one the second day. The ruling was a drop dead at an hour and fifteen minutes-we had never played in a tournament like that and it made it confusing and not fun or fair. We didn't like it at all-I don't think anyone on any team did to be honest. Hopefully we won't play in anymore tournaments like that.

In our down time the kids had fun exploring Kanab, swimming in the hotel pool (despite freezing water temperatures), and riding the bikes provided by the hotel.

Bryce found a way to keep cool during the game.

Chloe had a good tournament. She played catcher, outfield, and a little 3rd base as well.

Landon and Chloe both came home bruised and battered. Chloe from the game, and Landon from taking a line drive to the knee when he was throwing Chloe some pitches in the batting cages. Also she is always so orange after games-from being behind the plate catching-she looks like an oompa loompa-HA!

It was a fun weekend. It's always fun to spend time with each other doing things we enjoy.
