DERBY TIME

Yesterday was the pinewoor derby for cub scouts. It was an exciting event. I guess you could say we were a little unprepared with Tanner's car. Maybe a little more laid back with it then we should have been. Don't get me wrong Landon and Tanner spent a lot of time on the actuall car it was more like the application of weights and which weights to use and also the use of graphite or lubricant on the wheels that we were maybe a little naive about.
I'll say this Tanner's car wasn't the slowest, but close to it. However he did get an award and trophy for the best design, and no it wasn't because his parents are the leaders we actually had nothing to do with handing out the awards. His car actually was pretty cool looking just not very fast. But he still had lots of fun and he even won a few races. Great Grandma Marshall came to watch and I think she enjoyed herself. Chloe really wanted a trophy to, but at least she got a candy bag and a rice krispy treat.
I think all the scouts had fun. It's kind of a cool event. The track is all computerized now too, so there is no debating the winner. Although a few people would still like to think there is. Our bishop was talking about having a ward pinewood derby at our spring ward party. I can only imagine the competition. It was intense enough at cub scouts I can only imagine it against grown men and women, but it would probably still be fun to watch.

I wonder how much time some of the boys actually spent on their cars or if they were even aloud to touch them at all before the derby started. Ha Ha

Tea Parties and Basketball

Today has been a busy and fun day. Tanner had his last basketball game of the season bright and early this mornig at 8:00. There season score 0-9, with 1 tie. The good thing though is that they are learning and there team actually improved througout the season. Also they had fun. I don't think that Tan would be smiling like that in the pictures if he wasn't enjoying himself. It was really hard to sit in the stands though and not yell to much. I really think that I might try to coach his team next year. Later in the day Chloe had a tea-party birthday party. They were supposed to go in princess dress she opted for Hannah Montana dress instead. I said well she is a pop-princess I guess and as long as she was comfortable going as her when all the others would be in disney princess stuff then who cares right. She had lots of fun, and was all smiles when she got home. She was especially excited for the "real princess" who came to the party. She made animal shape balloons for them. How fun.
While Chloe was at the party Tanner, Landon and I went out to lunch at Applebee's. Then we came home and a couple of the kids friends came over, and they have been playing with them ever since. They should probably be ready for bed tonight.

Jumpin Jacks!

My mom and I both have a dixie direct card so we both had two free admission tickets to Jumpin Jacks! So today we took Tanner, Chloe, Saydee, and Gavin there. They loved it! They didn't stop running and bouncing for the whole hour and 15 minutes we were there. For those of you who don't know Jumpin Jacks is a big warehouse type building filled with those blow up toys that kids can jump and slide on. They have a lot of them in there. Some of them are as tall as the ceiling. The kids went on all of them several times even Gavin thanks to Aunt Tia draggin him up them with her supper strong muscles. I think I went on a least 20 things with him. I think I need to make an appointment with the chiropractor on Monday. JK . It was fun though. We even ran into my cousin Tyler while we were there he was at a Birthday Party. Tanner was happy for that and spent alot of time playing with him and his friends. When we were leaving they wanted to know if we could go back another time.

Happy New Year 2009

Well the new year is here. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't quite make it to officially ring in the new year. We went to bed about 10:00. Maybe next year we will stay up until midnight. We had a new years eve party with my Grandma Marshall, my Dad and Mom, and Landon, myself, and the kids. We had fun and lots of good food. We had our traditional Crab Legs, Shrimp, and Lobster Tail. Tanner dinned on little smokies made into pigs in a blanket since he doesn't really dig seafood. We of course had some sparkling grape cider to go along with it. Today Chloe kept asking me if she could have some more of that sparkly punch.
After dinner we played some games Catch-Phrase, Cranium, Yahoo Buckaroo, and a few others. Then we decided it was time to go home to bed. The rest of us were sound asleep at midnight but my Grandma says she was up to watch the ball drop on tv and hear the fireworks in town.
Well Happy New Year Everyone. Hope it's a Good One!

Christmas Clothes and Sledding

The day after Christmas we went up to Landon's parents in Flowell for the weekend. We had a good time. The kids really love being able to play with their cousins. One day we went sledding. When Chloe got to the top of the hill she was so excited she just took off a little before she was supposed to and hit right into a huge bush. It kind of hurt her, and it took her awhile to want to go again, but once she did her and Saydee had lots of fun. We had the most of the kids from Landon's side there along with my sister, and husband and her two kids. Someone had built a jump on the hill, and Tanner hit it over and over. Later that afternoon when we were back at Grandma's Landon hooked the sled to the 4 wheeler and pulled the kids around. They rode until they were all frozen. My camera died so I don't have alot of pictures but I do have a few thanks to Mandy and Taryn.
On Sunday the kids all got in their Christmas Clothes from Great Grandma Robison. They look so nice. I'm really glad she gets them these nice church clothes every year. It's fun for everyone.
