2nd Trimester Report Cards

Yesterday I went to the kids SEP's (parent teacher conference)-they both got great reports. Tanner had straight A's again!!! Chloe almost did-the weird thing is that her teacher and I both just assumed she had straight A's however somehow her science grade missed our attention. She got a B+ in science only missing the A by a few percent points. Although I blame that mostly on the fact that the reason for that grade is a test that she had right in the middle of baby brother being born and adjusting to life with a new baby, so it was probably more Mom's fault that she wasn't better prepared for it. She was very upset about the B+ and threw herself on the ground in a display of how upset she was when we got home. I guess she is going to take after her Mommy and brother in the grade department.
The kids each get a reward if they get straight A's it can be $20, a trip to the movies, etc. This time Tanner chose socks-yes I said socks. Nike LeBron James Socks to be exact. Ha Ha. He is turning into such a teenager-in fact the other day it was so funny because we had a power outage for like 2 hours, well Tanner and Landon were getting ready to leave for a Dixie College Basketball game, and Tanner was like how am I supposed to do my hair :) Even though Chloe didn't get the straight A's we let her choose a reward since we felt it was probably more our fault than hers. She chose a new soccer ball-the soccer season starts this weekend and she is super excited!!!
We are so proud of our kids and the effort they put into their school work to get good grades.

Basketball Review

The Basketball Season has come to an end. It has been an awesome season for everyone.
Tanner has had a great year. We have seen so much improvement in his ball handling and defense this year as well as his overall confidence. He no longer just passes the ball as quick as he can he will actually make a move and drive it in if the opportunity arises. He also will get steals and get in there after rebounds. His last game was 2 Saturdays ago. I went with him while Landon stayed home with the baby. I hadn't been to his games for a few weeks and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. He made a couple of three pointers and another shot, plus he got right in there and was hustling after the ball. This has been a great year for him.

Chloe has had an awesome first season. She is definitely her mommas girl, especially in the defensive department. She gets steals and rebounds like nobody else, and was so proud of herself when she successfully made her first layup in a game. The first time she was the point guard she really struggled-she couldn't focus on having to get the ball down the court while dribbling and passing. She kept getting nervous and stopping and then would get the ball stolen. Well she got a chance to redeem herself in her second to last game and was able to play point guard again and the improvement was ten-fold. She did exactly what she was supposed to do. Her favorite position to play was a 2 or a 3 and she loved stealing the ball.
Here she is with the assist..
And here is a layup...
Trophy Time...
We can't leave Landon out of the updates. He has been playing church ball. His team tries really hard and have come close to winning a few times, but really I think they are all just more there to have fun and get a little exercise. Landon does a good job, he's made some layups and even a three pointer last week. (I think he was trying to keep up with Tan). I think he also fouled out last week but they didn't have enough players so they gave his foul to someone else so they could keep playing-haha-that's church ball for you.
Now if only we could find a basketball team for me to join ;)

4 Weeks Old

Look who is 4 weeks old today.

He is growing like a weed. I can't believe that much time has already past by.

Pictures from the Week...

Bryce is learning to like his bath, but he still hates getting his lotion on.
 Three in Mommy's bed...
 Snuggles from Grandma.
When he decides he is hungry, there is no stopping the tears. He does not like to wait to eat!
The last few days he has been staying awake for longer and really looking around at things.

Pants on Fire

I forgot to write about this in my baseball tournament post...so here it is. We have a little propane heater that we take to the ball games and even though it was nice weather I am kind of a wimp and early in the morning on Saturday it was a little cold for my, so Landon turned the heater on. I was sitting in front of it nice and cozy watching the ball game when suddenly Landon was like "Tia are your pants on fire?". I looked down and my pant leg was seriously smoking probably ready to ignite in flames at any minute. It took me a minute to beat it out, and then I move back quite a ways from the heater. I guess that is why you are supposed to sit so many feet away :0

President's Day Tournament

Tanner had a big president's day baseball tournament this weekend. The weather was perfect! So nice in fact that we took Bryce with us to 3 of the 4 games. Tanner's team did an awesome job and went 3-1. In some smaller tournaments this would have gotten them into the championship round for sure, but they barely missed getting in this time. They were beat out by 1 team.
Highlights:
Tanner made an awesome catch while playing left field.
In the third game he had two really nice line drives into the outfield.
Bryce enjoying his first ball game...
Well the ball season is just about to kick into high gear. Little League is just around the corner and the Tournaments in the Spring seem to happen about every other weekend. Guess it's time to dust off the camp chairs and get the cooler down :)

3 Weeks Old/Due Date

I can't believe my baby boy is 3 weeks old today. What's even harder to believe is that today is his actual due date. WOW! I am so glad I didn't have to wait this long to meet the little guy.

Valentines Day

Chloe chose to make a pig valentine box. Of course her daddy helped her. It turned out pretty dang cute...
She wanted to give out mechanical pencils for her Valentines so we found this cute idea that included a printable template on pinterest which made my life a lot easier.
It says "You are the WRITE one for me".
Tanner is kind of old to give out actual valentines but he did take Russell Stover chocolate hearts for his whole class. Also he came home one day and told me that I needed to get his teacher some dark chocolate covered almonds from See's for V-Day. Okay. So I went and got them. I was thinking what I got, which was half a pound, would be around $5. Imagine my surprise when they rang up for $9. Wow he must have a special teacher :)
Landon ordered me some of my all time favorites. So GOOD!!! Funny thing Landon and I both wrote exactly the same thing in the cards we gave to each other-it was kind of cool actually.
We had a nice Valentines Day. Chloe had a basketball game so we went to that and then grabbed some Chinese food as a family. We came home and ate it and then shared the strawberries. After that we watched a movie together. It was a nice night with the family.

Snuggle Bug

Bath Time

Since his umbilical cord finally fell off we were able to give Bryce a real bath instead of a sponge bath. Chloe was very excited about this. She said "if I had known that's what we were waiting for I would have just pulled it" off-then she said "I really wouldn't have only if it wouldn't have hurt him" :). He is not a big fan of baths but is learning to like them a little better. He hates having lotion on or getting his diaper changed-anything that is cold he does not like. He still really likes to be bundled up in his blankets and kept nice and toasty warm.

2 Weeks old and Happy Birthday Mommy

Yesterday Bryce turned two weeks old. I can't believe how fast he is growing up already.

Look how fast they grow-lol. Tanner and Bryce have matching blankets don't you love them.
Yesterday was also my birthday-31 years old. I had a nice day just relaxing with my baby. Then my Grandma took me and the kids to lunch at the Pizza Factory-my mom met us there as well. We had a good time. Later that night when Landon got off we went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. All in all it was a nice and relaxing day. Landon even took a turn getting up with Bryce during the night :)

2 Week Check-Up

Today I took Bryce in for his two week check up. He seems to be doing really well. He has already grown an inch and gained about 10 ounces. So he is now 7 lbs 1 oz and 20.5 inches long. His head measures 35 cm. He is in the 12 % for his weight and in the 46% for height. He had to have his heel pricked for the PKU test and he wasn't to happy about that but overall he did well while we were there. Also after we got home his umbilical cord fell off. Chloe was pretty excited when I told her that because now we can give him a real bath and not just a sponge bath :)

Newborn Photos

Introducing...
I couldn't pick my favorite so I had to post almost all of them.

These one's are for Daddy...

Chloe came with me so she was in some of the pictures. She loves her brother so much.

 My Favorite

 Mommy's Little Guy

 With his special giraffe.

These two are some of my favorites...

I really love them all though. We took him to get these done when he was one week old. He slept for most of the almost three hours we were there. Heather Stott took them-you can check out her blog at www.photosbyheatherstott.blogspot.com. She did a wonderful job, despite complications with her lights, and we are very very happy with them. Thank you so much Heather!!!
