Movies of Summer

One of our favorite things to do during the summer is to go to the movies. It gets really hot here so it gives us an activity to do that isn't swimming and is out of the heat. Typically we will go almost every Tuesday since it is only $5 on Tuesdays. This summer things just didn't seem to align for us to go as much as we usually do. We ended up being gone a lot or had things locally and just weren't able to make Tuesday work. That being said we did manage to see a few. Usually the older kids will still go with us to some of them, or a couple of cousins, and we even got Landon to go to the Lion King with us.

Here is what we saw...
Toy Story 4

The Secret Life of Pets 2

Aladdin

The Lion King

Bryce's favorite was probably The Lion King. I liked Aladdin and Toy Story 4.

Ellison Family Reunion

For Landon's family reunion we went to Castle Rock Campground. We had never been there before and were excited to try out someplace new. It was pretty cool and we will probably definately go back again someday.

For the most part the reunion was fun. There are still a little bit of feelings between us and one of Landon's siblings that make some moments a little hard or awkward, but it is what it is I guess. Otherwise, except for the fact that Landon's Dad fell and hurt himself again, things were great and we had a lot of fun.

Here are some of the highlights

*Hiked to Bullion Falls
It was really muddy, because it had rained previously, but a few of us pushed through and made it to the top. It was worth it. Chloe had fun playing in the mud. Bryce lost his croc in the mud but luckily we were able to retrieve it. (this was a real sensory activity for him) He did great though and mostly hiked the whole thing himself with just a little help from Tanner.

*Floated the River

*Bryce worked on his Slingshot Skills

*Late Night Poker Games (poker games all day) with the cousins in our trailer.

*Explored the cool rock formations around camp.

*Landon won the Annie Oakley Shotgun Shootout

*Horseshoes

*Scorpion Hunt
The camp ground hosts a scorpion hunt on Saturday nights. Unfortunately it was raining and we didn't see any due to the weather conditions.

*Lots of fun games including-LCR, Saran Wrap Ball, Food Fear Factor, and a Human Pinata

Chloe had to leave a bit early due to another planned adventure with Grandma Tawny and Saydee. We drove her to Fillmore Friday afternoon. It rained horribly on our way there, so bad in fact that at one point we slid a little bit and hit one of the side barricades they had up for some road construction. We made if safely though and the ride back to the camp wasn't nearly so eventful.

The reunion was fun. It was well planned out. It's always fun to get together with family.

24th of July

We started out the 24 with a breakfast and parade in the park by our house hosted by our ward. Bryce still wouldn't ride his bike, but he did a lot better on his scooter this year and was able to keep up with the bikers.
After breakfast we headed to my Grandma's house to spend the day and make cinnamon rolls for Landon's upcoming family reunion.

We came home later that evening for neighborhood fireworks. It was a fun and productive day and we enjoyed spending time together.

Eating in His Sleep

Half the time when he falls asleep it is with a chip or cracker in his hand. HAHA!

Champions!!!

In June Chloe's team competed in a softball tournament in Cedar City. The first day they had one loss that put them into the loser bracket.

That night we stayed at Grandma's house. A couple of Chloe's friends stayed with us. We met up with some of the team for ice cream. The girls were pretty crazy-not sure what the other customers in the ice cream shop thought of them. HAHA

The 2nd day they came back ready to play hard. They ended up spending a total of 14 hours on the ball fields. And amazingly they ended up working their way to the Championship Game.

Bryce was such a trooper through all the games and only whined a little bit. He was pretty happy that Great Grandma lived in town so for a few of the games he was able to hang out at her house.

The team they met in the Championship Game was the team they had previously lost to, so this meant they would have to beat them twice to win-which is exactly what they did. The games were intense and there were moments when I wasn't sure if the girls were going to pull it off or not, but they all fought hard. The made good plays and came through with big hits at critical times. It was so fun to watch them win it.
WOOT! WOOT!
The Girls were pretty stocked about their championship rings.

Chloe had a great weekend. She got a nice triple and some other good hits. She caught for 5 out of the 6 games they played on Saturday and had no passed balls!!! When the day was finally over and she sat down she could barely move again-her legs just cramped up from being down in a squat so long-poor girl. I probably would have died.
