Monster Muley Madness

If you can't tell Landon got ahold of my camera while I was out shopping this morning. He infiltrated my blog and added these picts of his deer. He is still just so happy about having it.

CHRISTMAS

Yesterday was a great day. I fill like we had a really wonderful Christmas. If you have seen Drake and Josh's Christmas (which my kids have watched like ten times this year) I would feel like voting Yes This was the best Christmas ever! It's not because I gots tons of great stuff (however I did get some nice things). It had more to do with watching the excitement the kids had and the surprise on Landon's face (I really got him this year). The kids both started out on a Treasure Hunt from Santa. Tanner had requested that he hide their presents. It was so fun to watch they were both so excited. While Chloe was opening her presents she kept saying "just what I wanted" every time she would open something. She was even so excited about the orange in her stocking "look I got and orange!". When she was all done she said "I must have been a really good girl this year because I got everything I wanted." The two things she wanted most her Barbie computer and her doll were played with the remainder of the day. Tanner got his Wii and couldn't have been happier. He got some other little things to. The good thing about him is that he was also saying thanks and ready to give a hug to whoever gave him something. He later told Landon I just got to much, more than I asked for. He had to versus everyone on the Wii and saying he is good at it would be an understatement. He beat us all. I did knock him out in one boxing match finally, but he beat me overall. I think my mom finally did beat him on a game of golf. Even Chloe gets into it, but it was kind of sad to see her face down in the boxing ring after Tanner got through with her. The biggest surprise was for Landon. Thanks to the help of my dad for making the phone calls, and the use of my neighbors garage I was able to pull this off. Now he was supposed to be getting what he got, but not until like June of 09 so imagine the surprise on his face! First of all he walks out into the living room and there is a huge box in there. Well when he finally opened it up there is his deer that he was supposed to have mounted staring back at him. It was finished. He was speechless and near tears I think. Ha Ha. I got the whole thing on video. He had no idea. All day long he just kept saying how great it was. Well Merry Christmas Everyone. Hope it was Great!

Twas The Night Before Christmas

For those of you who went to Millard High remember when we had to memorize and recite the poem "Twas The Night Before Christmas" for english. We'll the funny thing is I can still practically recall the whole thing except for the begining of a couple of lines. The other day at preschool I picked up the book to read to the kids, and was suprised when I only had to glance at it a couple times while reading it to them.
Well it's finally here, and boy am I glad. I don't know if I could have lasted another day of Chloe asking if she could open a present. They are both so excited they can hardly stand it. I don't know if they will ever go to sleep tonight. Tanner has been tracking Santa on NoradSanta.com since about 3:00 this afternoon, he would go in about every five minutes and give us an update on where he was in the world. It was actually kind of fun.
We read the Christmas story, and the kids opened their Christmas Pajamas. The Stockings are hung. Now it's just time to wait for Santa to come, but the kids will have to fall asleep first.

2nd Place Gingerbread Train

Well remember that gingerbread train I briefly mentioned in an earlier blog. The one my mom helped Tanner make one weekend. Well my mom got the call yesterday that Tanner's train had taken 2ND place. His prize-$50. They are mailing him a check. He's pretty excited about it. So I thought I'd post a few more Pict's of it, to brag a little.
(Laying out the track-it was made of licorice.)
(Decorating one of the train cars. They put so much detail into each one.)

(The finished product. Looks Awesome!)

Thanks Mom for doing this with him, he had so much fun. But beware you might have started a tradition he'll probably want to do it again next year.

The Giant Snowman

Well remember that giant snowball Tanner was rolling it turned into this. Landon ended up getting off work early yesterday so he was able to help Tanner finish it. The middle was so big that he had to have me come out and help him lift it on. You can tell a guy helped build this though with the boards for arms and the antler. Tanner was so excited everywhere we went he was making sure his snowman was the biggest in town. It is just over 6 feet tall.

SNOW DAY!

So today was officially a snow day in St. George and not just the one the schools usually take in the spring because we never use it in the winter. They actually closed all schools due to snow, because St. George City doesn't have any snow plows. So that mean the kids and I had the day off. The kids were so excited. I thought Chloe would be a little sad because it was supposed to be her Christmas Party at school today, but she said she would rather play in the snow, and make snow angels, because all she did at school was learn and learn and learn. Tanner was glad for the snow, but said I hope they don't close school tomorrow because school is like the funnest thing on earth, and plus I don't want to miss my class party. They are both so different.

They had me out at 8:00am to play in the snow. The temp wasn't actually that bad. They both made a snowman, and a snow angel, then Chloe started working on a snow baby, while Tanner set to work rolling the world's biggest snowball. It got so big he finally couldn't push it anymore even with my help.We were out there for about an hour, and we saw a few neighbor kids and their families out too. They had so much fun and when we got back in they wanted to know when we could play in it again. My Grandma and Mom said the last time they actually remember the schools being closed for a snow day, was the year they moved down here 30+ years ago. They said there were like 100 or more accidents that day, because nobody knew how to drive in the snow, or else the teenagers were spinning broadies and then lost control. Maybe I'd better stay home today. ha ha

Snow is Falling All Around

It has been snowing all day today. Not such an unusual occurance for most of you, but do to the fact that I live in St. George Utah it is kind of unexpected. The only downfall is that it's not really sticking. The kids really wanted to play in it, and it's also freezing.

Family Christmas Party

On Saturday it was the Gentry Family Christmas Party. We went up to Ceday for what was supposed to be the day, but ended up being overnight because we got stuck there when the snowstorm hit. The only bad part was that we didn't have p.j.'s and a change of clothes, and since the whole family was there no bed either. It wasn't to bad though we actually slept pretty good on the floor.
We had a white elephant gift exchange. Even the kids did one. They each brought an ornament. You should have seen the look on Tanner's face when he got a Hannah Montanna one. Luckily he was able to trade in the end and I think everyone went away happy.
We also did a secret Santa for a family and we went to deliver it. Landon went up to the door with Tanner, Chloe, and Saydee. It was kind of funny seeing him try to throw the girls back in the truck as they were having a hard time even getting there through the deep snow. When we got back to my Dad and Mom's Tanner couldn't resist making a snow angel despite the fact that he didn't have a snow suit on and it was freezing outside. My Dad told him he couldn't go in the house covered in all that snow, so Landon had to brush him off first.
Later on we played Catch Phrase. The Gentry Girls against the boys or spouses. Sorry boys we killed you 2 out of 3 games.
My mom made the kids each a beenie they all look so cute in them.
Mom also made each kid a ginerbread house. They had lots of fun decorating them. She does this for them every year. Earlier this year she also made Tanner a Gingerbread Train which he entered in a contest at Lin's. They judge them sometime this week. They all look forward to their gingerbread houses, and I think the parents have fun helping too.

Thanks everyone it was fun!

Ho Ho Ho

We went to the Santa Social at Tanner's School tonight. It was fun. The main reason we went was so that the kids could see Santa, which they did. I thought that this year Chloe would break down and sit on his lap, but once it got right down to it there was no way. She did relay to me though what she wanted and told me to tell him, but she wouldn't talk directly to him. Oh well the picture turned out cute anyway. Maybe next year will be the year. Tanner has sat on his lap without any hesitation every since he was 3, so I guess kids are just different.
I love this picture of Tanner he is deep in thought about what he wants for Christmas.

Fiesta Fun

Over the weekend my Grandma was tending my cousins Tyler and Sam. So we decided to take the kids to fiesta fun. They had so much fun riding the bumper boats, playing minature golf, playing the arcade games, and playing on the indoor play place. It is so fun to see them all together. They have such a good time, and Chloe acts like she is just one of the boys. She especially loves Tyler he is the oldest and he takes such good care to include her in everything.

Christmas is in the Air

Well it's here. The best time of the year in my opinion-Christmas. The Christmas season is always filled with so much fun. Over the Thanksgiving weekend we went and got our Christmas tree. The kids had so much fun looking for the perfect one, despite the mud, they even each got a small one for their own rooms. They could hardly wait to decorate them. They wanted to do it Sunday when we got home, but we had them wait until Monday night. Now the house is all decorated and the tree and lights are up. The kids are already so excited they can hardly stand it. They are both doing there advent calendar countdowns, although we did catch Chloe sneeking a couple of days ahead on hers.

FALL

It seems that Fall has finally arrived in St. George. Sometimes I think it takes longer for the leaves to start to change color and the tempertature to drop in St. George than in the rest of the state. Probably because it's warmer here.I don't have any trees with leaves that fall, but my Grandma has a couple by her house. So the other night when we were out there the kids asked if they could rake the leaves up and play in them. Tanner really had a lot of fun he would run and like do a front flip into them, and the he let Chloe help burry him completely with leaves. Chloe didn't really want to get in them to much she would jump in with only her feet, besides it was way more intertaining watching Tanner and burrying him.

Happy Fall!

Halloween

We had a fun filled Halloween. Tanner was a secret agent and Chloe was a witch. It started out with the kids Halloween parties. Oops mom forgot the cheese sticks for Tanner's luckily we had Grandma to run a get them since I was working. Chloe had her party the day before since she has school on Tues. and Thurs. They both had fun.
Later that afternoon Tiff and Taelor came over and we went trick or treating to Grandma Angies office. They had like a haunted house going on there. Tanner loved it. Chloe got a little scared by one of the agents and had me carry her the rest of the time. Taelor was just kind of there for the ride, she didn't really know what was going on yet. She looked so cute in her pumpkin costume the kids couldn't get enough of her.
When Landon got home we went trunk or treating at the church. One person was handing out fangs and the kids and some of there friends enjoyed trying those out. I don't think they were to excited about the toothbrushes the dentist was handing out, but I was after the last dentist appointment. He did give them some candy too. They were both really happy about the gift certificate for free ice cream at cold stone.

Then we went out to Grandma Marshalls to trick or treat, we hit a few houses in her neighborhood and then headed home. The kids ended up with way to much candy. It should last awhile though. We all went to bed around 8:00, because Landon and I had to be at a Scout Leader Pow Wow the next morning at 7:30.
