A Few More Pages

Since it has been a boring Saturday I played around on the computer and did a couple more layouts. I am starting to see just how much quicker and cheaper it might be to do digital stuff.

Here they are:
both of these are from 08-I can't believe it has been two years already!

Photoshop Class

Landon gave me Photoshop 7 for my Birthday so I decided it was time to learn how to use it right and not just keep saying I was going to learn to do digital stuff. So that's exactly what I did last night I took a Photoshop class through Pebbles. It went from 7:00 to about 10:30 but I learned lots in that amount of time. I finally figured out the layers and some of that other crap that I didn't know what the heck was for. Granted I'm still no Brenda Neuberger but I'm still pretty pleased with this layout and now I know at least enough that I can play around with stuff and try some more layouts without feeling like a total fool. I'll probably take the next two photoshop classes in the series just to learn even more and become a little bit more confident.
To bad I don't live closer to Brenda like Taryn then I wouldn't have to pay someone to teach me this stuff. LOL

Our Trip to a Tattoo Parlor

Okay so after reading this title you may have been wondering "What in the heck?" so let me start by telling you we weren't there to get a tattoo but you might as well hear the story from the first.
Chloe has been wanting to get her ears pierced for awhile now, which I am fine with but I know her aversion to needles so I have been avoiding it. I told her she could do it on her birthday, but alas her best friend Brydee got her ears pierced today so there was nothing doin but Chloe getting hers done as well. So we loaded both the kids along with Brydee and JayJay (since we were watching them) into the car and headed to the Tattoo Parlor. FYI from a friend the Tatto parlor was cheaper, more kid friendly, and cheaper with a bigger selection of earrings to choose from then the local Clair's so that is were we went.
Chloe was so excited on the way there, but once she picked out her earrings and sat up in the chair she started to get very nervous. Her lip was quivering and tears started to fall when they showed her the gun and how it worked. She almost leaped right out of the chair. I told her to look at me and count to three by this time she was full out balling but I figured we might as well just get it over with then one, two, snap. It was done. She cried for a minute but soon stopped when she got a sucker and we told her we could walk over and look at the animals at the pet store.
So there you have it our daughter now has earrings and she is counting down the days to when she can take the studs out and start wearing "fancy" ones.

Clothes, Clothes, Clothes

My Grandma Angie has connections when it comes to getting the one thing most little girls love-clothes. She volunteers at the Catholic Thrift Store like once a week, plus goes to the flea market on weekends, and also gathers hand me downs from other grandkids. So every so often we come home to find a huge gargbage bag full of clothes on the doorstep. Chloe will know what it is and is in heaven. She will spend hours going through the stuff and trying it on. It is all good stuff to-not junk! Here is her last stash.

She got about 9 new dresses, 4 jackets, and a couple of shirts. To bad I had already bought her an Easter dress the green one would have been perfect. HA HA

This was a school morning but she just had to try on a few of the clothes before I could pry her away from them and get her ready for the day.

10 Gatorades for under $2

Last week Smith's was having this deal but they are running it again this week so I thought I'd post about it. It is part of the Daytona Event-which is if you buy 10 participating items you get an immediate $3 off. Well this makes the Gatorade .69 a piece wyb 10. But to make this an even sweeter deal stack with 5 of the $1/2 gartorade coupons from the Sunday Papers and you get them for .19 a piece or $1.90 for 10.
FYI if you don't get the Sunday paper and want coupons you can order on Ebay. If you order at the first of the sale you should usually get them in time to shop or at least get a rain check if everything is gone. I ordered 10 more gatorade coupons yesterday so I can get 20 more bottles. Granted when you order them it makes the cost a little higher to factor in the cost of the coupons, but I figure the ones I bought will make my gatorade be about .39 a bottles which is still a steal in my opinion.

Garden

It is starting to feel like spring around here. It has been so nice and warm. This is the perfect time in St. George. We have been going to the park alot in the afternoons. On Saturday we planted the first of our garden. Yeah! We put in peas, onions, and raddishes. The kids were both really good to help.

Valentines Cards, Boxes and Parties

We have had a a fun few days with Valentines.
First we made the kids valentines cards. We decided to go with the handmade cards this year instead of the store bought ones.
Here are Chloe's. I think they turned out so cute and so did her teacher apparently-she told me when I got there that she had been around to show them to all the other teachers (thanks Taryn for the idea)

Chloe with her butterfly box and all her candy. She was so excited for her valentines party that she actually got up and got ready without me having to fight her once. She even set the table and got breakfast out for everyone. Ha

Here are Tanner's cards. AVATAR! We taped an almond joy to the back-the only blue candy we could think of. (thanks Brenda for the help in photoshop.) This picture is a little blury but the actual cards were great and clear as could be.

Here is Tanner's box the robot from Avatar! Landon helped him make it. It turned out pretty cool. I helped in Tanner's class so I heard lots of comments from his classmate on how cool his box was. I also asked his friend who came home with us who was handing out the best Valentines and he said "Tanner".

The kids both had a fun time at their parties.

Then for the valentines from Mom and Dad one day early. A book for Tanner-he was so excited due to the fact he was like 50 something on the library waiting list and a new Hannah Montana CD for Chloe-she has been jamming out to it all day. I love how they are both so different and get so excited over there own type of fun.

Ice Skating with Scouts

Last night Landon and I took on quite a venture we took 8 cub scouts and Chloe ice skating. Can you believe it? and the best part is the activity went off without a hitch and all the kids had lots of fun.

The boys were all so excited to be going. When we first got there they were so excited to hit this ice, but once they actually HIT it a few times the decided maybe it wasn't all it was cracked up to be a few of them even shed tears and gave up and times, but in the end they all tried again and got the hang of it. Two of our boys were pros from the minute they hit the ice but for most of them it was a little bit of a challenge. Tanner has the bruises on his knees to prove it. They all had fun though. Chloe was a little trooper. She fell down time and time again but would not let us help her she had so much fun. When it was time to go home all the boys got off the ice but Chloe headed around for another lap I had to drag her off.

It is so cute how all the boys are so used to Chloe being with us that they all treat her like their little sister or some of them treat her more like a little princess. At the end we were all getting some hot chocolate somehow the bench fell over on Chloe and she was in tears all the boys were surrounding her trying to comfort her and make her feel better. One of the boys said "someone get her some hot chocolate" and someone promplty did. How would it feel to have 8 big brothers?
The kids were so tired after all that fun. Chloe fell asleep and stayed asleep on the way home from dropping off the boys and Tanner climbed into bed as soon as we got home without us even asking him and was out.
We had a fun time!

AVATAR

On Saturday we went to see Avatar. Tanner has been begging to go and see it ever since it came out. The whole fam went plus my Dad. It was fun although it was a really long movie-almost 3 hours. Grandpa bought enough popcorn and treats to make the kids happy and make us all a little sick. It was a good movie I thought-however you might not like it if your not into sci-fi and fantasy type stuff.

The Thinker

Okay so to get this story you have to have seen Night at the Museum 2-Battle of the Smithsonian. Remember the thinker and the way his voice sounded as well---now that you have that in mind.

I was working with a girl at school I showed her a picture of someone who was standing up with their arm kind of raised. My question to her-what is she doing? her response was supposed to be standing up. However here was her response--now keep in mind the movie--She is going like this boom, boom, firepower!
She said it with the actions and accent!
HAHAHAHAHA

14 Days of Valentines

Here is a good idea for valentines for your hubby, it's cheap and simple and overall meaningfu. My sister Mandy saw this idea on tv and told me she was going to do it for Cody for V-Day. I thought it sounded like a good idea so I followed suite. I made this for Landon mostly just out of scraps I had and with the cricut cartridige-bags, tags, boxes--it is the cakebox one. However you could cut it out by hand if you wanted to-my sister did.

In each day you put a reason why you love them. Then they get to open one a day up to Valentines Day. Then on the 14th you have a little surprise-exp(gift card to favorite restaraunt).
