Sweet Treats/Sweeter Deal

So today I didn't really feel like going and doing my Grocery Shopping even though the ads came out yesterday and yes there were Albertsons Doublers. However I was so glad I did.
I got these 4 boxes of Nestle Drumsticks for $4.19 OOP. Even better I got a $4 off coupon on anything on my next visit, so yeah factor that in and they were pretty much FREE. Can't get any better than that. I won't try to explain all the technicalities of how I accomplished this, but I will give one little bit of advice-Check the bottoms of your Albertsons receipts sometimes a survey coupon is there and if you call in and take the survey(less than 1 minute of your time) they will give you $2 off your next visit.

Swimming

Yesterday I took Tanner and Chloe and a couple of friends swimming to the sand hallow aquatic center. They had tons of fun. While we were there Chloe decided that she was going to go down the slide ALL BY HERSELF and so she did. Once she went down once she just didn't want to stop. She would run back up as soon as she got out of the water from going down. She loved it. It really wore her out to. To bad we didn't go earlier she definately would have had a nap, but since it was so late I had to keep her awake so she would sleep later and so we could go to scouts.(Tanner's new trick is to hide from me whenever I try to take his picture. It is so frustrating. What a little punk!)

Free Pedicures

Yesterday my sister Tiffanie, Chloe and I all went to Hollywood Body Spa where we got pedicures. Now these weren't just any old pedicure. These were spa pedicures-90 minutes of pure bliss for your feet. Chloe really had fun-she didn't say much the whole time, but would just smile if you asked her anything. And the best part they were FREE. Yep that's right. If you go to the Roadrunner's games there is a coupon on the back of your ticket for 50 off any spa treatment at Hollywood Body. Plus a bonus if you get them signed by the roadrunner mascotts you get 50 more dollars per signature. So a couple of weeks ago I had Tanner and my nephew Dawson get my ticket signed. So there you have it free pedicures all around. Plus last week I got my eyebrows done, and I still have some credit left from my coupon.

Garden Veggies

Our garden is starting to put forth a little bit of produce. We have been getting a few tomatoes here and there and Sunday we had corn-yum! Yeserday I picked a bunch of carrots and some onions. I'm thinking home-made chicken noodle soup sounds good.We have so many carrots I really don't know what we are going to do with them all. I suggested to my Grandma that we might have to donate a bunch to the Care and Share and she said we might even need to bottle some. So if anyone wants carrots let me know.

Star-Gazing

(I took this pict with my camera-it zooms in pretty good-don't ya think?)
On Monday the news announced that there would be a satellite coming close enough to Earth that you would be able to sit and watch it for a couple of minutes. Of course anytime Tanner hears anything like this it is a for sure thing that we will be out looking for whatever it may be eclipse, planet, satelite, etc. He remembers the time all day long and makes sure that we don't forget to get out there to see it.
So we went out to watch for it, and yep we saw it all right. It was moving pretty fast so although our neighbor Dave brought his telescope over we weren't really able to see it through it because of how fast it was going. The kids did use the telescope to see the "dark side of the moon" though. And after all we could at least see the tiny dot of the satelite for a few minutes and the kids were both happy with that.

50 cent toothpaste and toothbrushes

Well I decided since I had 15 Albertsons Doublers I had better find a good way to use them all. Well I think I found it toothpaste and toothbrushes. There were some $1.00 on 1 toothbrush coupons and some .75/1 toothpaste coupons in the last P&G coupons they expire this week. When used with a doubler from Albertsons I was able to snag both the toothpaste and toothbrushes for 5o cents each. Not to bad. I know sometimes you can get free toothpaste, but it seems to usually be Colgate and we prefer CREST, so I didn't feel to bad about 50 cents a box. I'm on my way to having my 2 year supply of toothpaste now. LOL

Also I found a good reason to bring Tanner couponing, since you can only do 1 set of doublers per visit now and you then have to walk out and then back in instead of just seperating the transactions. We would walk out of the store; Chloe and I would wait by the door while Tanner ran the stuff to the car and then we would go back in and do it again-much better than me having to walk all the way to the car each time. Don't you agree?

Lazy Weekend

It was so nice to be home for a weekend as we have been gone for the last three and will be gone for the next two again now. We just kind of hung out at home. We went swimming in the afternoon and then in the evening we got some sandwichs and went over to quail lake for a couple of hours.
At the lake there were a bunch of dead crawdads. I made the mistake of putting a claw of one on Chloe's shoulder I was just pulling a small practical joke well she didn't take it very well she started screaming and bawling and was just hysterical. Then for the rest of the time she would just start to cry every time she say one until I picked it up and threw it out into the water.
We ended the day on the frontroom floor watching a movie with a bowl of popcorn. Sometimes it's nice to just be home.

24th of July

For the 24th we had a barbeque and party at Tiffanie and Brandon's house. We also celebrated Saydee and Gavin's Birthdays while we were there. Mandy made them some really cute cakes. The kids had fun with their cousins, aunts, and grandpas and grandmas. We had lots of good food including homemade icecream. Afterwords we did some fireworks. It was a fun day. These pictures are for my dad-he couldn't get over how dirty the kids feet all were. I have a hard time keeping shoes on them during the summer, so most days by the end of the day there feet look like this.

Digital Pages and Blue Legs

So I finally have started doing some digital scrapbook pages. I haven't done anything real technical yet, just mostly pages that are pre-made and you just add your pictures and text. Anyways here are a few that I put together today. And here is what I get for taking the time to work on them and not keep a close enough eye on Chloe.
Yes that is finger nail polish and somehow she managed to paint her whol leg blue with it. With the combined efforts of Aunt Sandi and I, and two bottles of nail polish remover we managed to get rid of the evidence for the most part.
That child is going to keep me on my toes more than I would like to be.
On a happier note-my sister Tiffanie was able to come help me salvage the recieving blanket that I cut wrong. I think it turned out pretty cute everything considered.

Family Reunion

While we were in Flowell we also attended a family reuinion. It was for Landon's Grandpa Junior Robison's family. We had a nice get together at the park in Holden. There were over 100 people there so it was a pretty big turnout.
The kids all had lots of fun playing with each other and eating snow cones. (provided by Aunt Tess and Uncle Rick) As you can see from the pictures we were part of the blue family (each brother or sister's family/kin was assinged to wear a different color of shirt.

An Award with a little History

When we got to Flowell this weekend Landon's dad Dave presented me with this award. It is the cone that the string we used to string the beans with. It says "Best Bean Stringer in the State of Utah" Tia Ellison. Redeem for .75 cents a Thank You would be better.
Now to understand the whole story you need a little history. Dave's family owned a bean farm when he was younger. People would come in by the busload in the summer to string beans. For each one of these rolls you used up you could turn in the cone for .75 cents. Yep that's right .75 cents. It took me an hour or two just to do one roll can you imagine working that hard and that long for that little of money? How things have changed!

A little bit more fun and a whole lot of TROUBLE

Well we have had a little bit more fun the last couple of days but we have also had a little bit of TROUBLE.
Wednesday
We set up the inflatable water slide.
I also took the boys to see Transformers 2 while the girls got to stay with Aunt Tiff and play with Taelor.Thursday
We went to the splash park, and then out for an ice cream cone.
(Look at these tuff guys!)
(bathing beauties)
Here is where the trouble comes in right before we were getting ready to leave for the spalsh park I happened to go in Chloe's room and just by chance open a five gallon bucket that was sitting on the bedroom floor. When to my amazement a kitten looked out at me. That's right the baby kitten was in there. We had been looking for her for like 2 hours. I think even the girls had forgotten she was in there. I don't know if she still would have been alive when we got back or not-Chloe did tell me that they had put food in there for here though.
After getting home this afternoon I needed a break and so came and got on the computer for a while (about an hour) in that time Chloe and Saydee had managed to turn the sandbox in the back yard into a swimming pool-yes you heard me right they wanted a swimming pool instead of a sandbox and so took it upon themselves to make this happen.
Later this evening Tanner snipped a piece of Chloe's hair off right in the front. They boys also locked the girls in the dog kennel and were taking them snacks to keep them quiet in there. Then the boys were wrestling again and Dawson slammed Tanner into the wall and Tanner kicked him hard in the stomach. I walked in the front door from taking Licorice out front for a minute and they were both sitting on the couch bawling their eyes out to Landon.
Now everything is quieted down-so hopefully we will make it through tomorrow without anymore incidence.
The worst part of all I was really needing some chocolate and so made some chocolate chip cookies and admist all the chaos I burned them. Oh I was soooo mad!
What a riot!

A Fun Couple of Day

We have been trying to do some fun stuff the last couple of days while we have the cousins here:
Monday
(1) We went swimming
(2) The kids helped Landon wash his truck for part of family night
(3) Dave came over for a couple of hours at the kids request and set up the tent in the girls room-yes they slept in it!Tuesday
(1) We went to an archery shoot for scouts. Since we had one boy that we had paid for that didn't show up they even let Dawson participate and take his place.(2) We went to Jumpin Jacks. (3) We went to half of the roadrunners baseball game.Of course I couldn't be a couponer if I couldn't say that most of these activities were free to do except for the treats and what not the kids had to have while we were there.
