Tanner

I had some pictures taken of Tanner to commemorate his becoming a teenage. I really didn't have to beg him to much, which was surprising. Most of them are serious shots cause we couldn't get many real smiles out of him, but I think they look nice just the same. I can't believe he is getting so old and looking so grown up. Here are a few of my favorites...

Daddy/Daughter Sock Hop

Last Saturday our Stake held their annual Daddy Daughter Date. They are always themed events and really fun. This year it was a 50's sock hop. My sister Tiffanie made Chloe a poodle skirt and Landon rolled up his pant legs and shirt sleeves. Chloe was so excited and they had a great time. The of course did some dancing as well as hula hooping and playing jacks. For lunch they served them sloppy joes. What a fun day!!!

30 weeks olds

Okay so this boy is growing by leaps and bounds. Everyday we notice something new he can do. He is really going through a tantrum phase and will throw himself back if you set him down or take something away from him. He is stubborn already-uh oh. He is so happy and such a little chatter box-sometimes it sounds like he is really saying words like hi or yes even though he really isn't. He is also so quick at grabbing things that he is like a little octopus. We have to really be on our toes while holding him. He rolls all over the place but doesn't try to crawl yet.

Birthday Boy-Teenager-13 Years Old

I can't believe it-we now officially have a teenager living at our house-gasp. How did that happen so fast? It seems like just yesterday he was a little Bryce and now look at him. He got just what he wanted for his birthday-clothes-yep he's a teenager alright. I bought Bryce a matching shirt...twiners :)
That day I got him from school at lunch time and took him out to Chick-Fil-A to eat.
Then that night we went to Outback Steakhouse. Grandma Tawny, Great Grandma Marshall, Great Grandma Angie, and cousins Taelor and Braxton came with us. It was fun and yummy.
Tanner let the little ones eat his birthday sundae cause he was saving up for the cheesecake waiting for him at home that Great Grandma Marshall had made for him.

Bryce fought and fought but finally gave out.
We love Tanner to bits. He is a great kid most of the time-when he is not tormenting his little sister. He usually is very obedient and is a smart and talented boy. We hope he will use his talents and abilities to the best of his ability as he gets older. For now we really don't worry about him getting in trouble or making a bad choice and we hope that doesn't change.

29 Weeks Old

He definitely is developing a mind of his own and he knows what he wants. A lot of times when I set him down or walk away from him he throws a tantrum for just a minute letting me know that is not what he wanted. He is very stubborn when it comes to eating if it's not something he likes. He thinks he can do whatever he wants to just like a big boy-for example he will try to just to stand up whenever he feels like it. In fact the other day he was sitting in his crib and he grabbed the side and just pulled himself up to a stand I quickly grabbed him so he didn't fall forward and smack his head. He rolls like crazy all over the place and we can no longer lay him on a bed or couch. Luckily he has only rolled off of something one time. Oh yeah and he hates his car-seat it is a struggle to get him buckled in-the trick being to get his mind on something else. Still love him to bits even when he's a little stinker.

Socks

Tanner is obsessed with socks! He loves them. He has a pair in every color and style. He will gladly spend his own money on them. He always tells me that Bryce wants Nike socks like his. This morning when I looked over there was Tanner putting a pair of his socks on Bryce. He wanted him to have some cool socks to match his outfit.
Little Bryce sporting the air-jordan sock...

8th Grade

Yesterday Tanner started 8th Grade. He is now officially in Middle School. He chose to go to Dixie Middle School this year instead of staying at George Washington Academy.  I think one of the big factors in this decision was the fact that he can wear whatever he wants as well as the fact that most of his friends also chose the same path. I am good with the decision as well, I think he was ready for the change, and it will be a good growing experience for him. It will definitely be an adjustment but I think he will like it.
Tanner wanted a picture with Bryce before he left. He always jokes that he is going to take him to school with him in his back pack-honestly I think he really would if he could.
Yesterday while both of the kids were at school I was showing Bryce pictures of them on the computer and he would get so excited-he really knew it was them and you could just tell how much he loves them from his reaction. What a lucky little boy he is to have two siblings who love him so very very much.

4th Grade

On Monday Chloe started 4th Grade-holy cow where does the time go it was just yesterday that she was starting Kindergarten. School shopping is pretty low key because of the uniforms so she already pretty much had everything she need. Her only request was a One Direction back pack and lunchbox and Converse Shoes. (They can wear any shoe as long as it is completely black or brown.)
She was so excited to start school. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Bauer. I think it will be a great year. She is loving it so far. The only thing she hates is leaving her baby brother behind. She hugs him first thing everyday when she gets home.

Fair, Baseball, and Grandmas House

The Washington County Fair was going on last week. When Chloe found out that there was a cutest baby contest she insisted that we enter Bryce. Well he didn't win any ribbons-there was some pretty stiff competition in his age group-LOL, but he is still the cutest in our book plus he got an awesome t-shirt out of the deal.
After the cutest baby contest we all loaded up and headed to Cedar City for some baseball. Tanner's team chose to play up this week to get ready for the Labor Day tournament. They combined the age divisions they ended up not only playing with 13 year olds, but 14 and 15 year olds as well. It was pretty crazy to see the size difference with some of the kids. We knew it was a practice going into it so we were prepare to lose-but the boys actually won one of their games and competed well in the rest. Tanner had some great hits-and we were proud of him for being able to hit off of those older boys like he did.
It was so nice to have my Mom's house to go to in between games and to be able to stay there over night so we didn't have to travel back and forth. The kids and Landon had a blast playing guitar hero-Landon is the reigning champion-I guess he should have been a rock star.
On the way home Saturday night we stopped at the fair for a little entertainment. Landon and Chloe went on the Star-ship Ride and Chloe rode a little roller coaster. The kids both played a couple of games while we watched in amazement as people spend hundreds of dollars trying to win a $5 stuffed animal-it was pretty entertaining. As we were walking out Tanner surprised me and bought me a caramel apple-what a sweet boy he knows how much I love them. (he of course bought one for himself to)

28 weeks old

28 weeks old and definitely keeping us on our toes. You have to be careful because he can reach out and grab something quick as a flash. He is making more and more sounds with his baby gibberish and becoming more and more animated. He loves his brother and sister more than anything. He gets super excited when he see's other babies and will try to talk to them. Look how big he looks compared to Presley. They are about 5 and a half months apart.

Beat the Heat Swim Meet

On Saturday August 3 Chloe had her last swim meet of the season. I was in Cedar City with Tanner at his baseball tournaments so I missed out on it, but she had Daddy with her. It was the Beat the Heat Meet and it was held in Mesquite, Nevada. I was able to follow her via texts from Landon and also on a really cool app called Meet Mobile. Landon also got lots of great pictures and even better videos. Blogger is having some issues today so I'm not able to get them to load, but you can see one that I posted on facebook if you want too. Chloe was showing me the videos when I got home, and she pointed out the fact that Dad made her wave when they called her name before each race-ha ha!
Getting ready on the block.
 With her relay team.
 In the bullpen.
 Hi Dad!
Chloe swam her five events. She swam two relays, breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle. She did so good. I think she got personal best times in every event and swam the best freestyle ever. Her relay teams totally rocked it-the took first both times. Although one of her medals says 3rd for some reason they have a hard time with the relay teams. They always seem to get them mixed up-probably because there is usually more than one Dixie team and sometimes they make last minute changes.
Here are the results...
Free Style Relay-1st place time-2:23.32
Backstroke 4th overall time-51.66
Breaststroke 10th overall time-57.42
Medley Relay-1st place time-3:18.47 (she swam the butterfly in this one)
Free Style-5th overall time-42.59 the times for 2nd-5th place in this race were all so close.
She had an awesome year-looking forward to next year already. She was definitely born to swim.

Color Country Classic 2013

Last weekend Landon and I were forced to divide and conquer with our kids athletic events. I took Tanner and Bryce and we headed to Cedar City for two days of ball games-luckily my Mom recently moved back there so we were able to stay with her which was nice. While Landon and Chloe headed to Mesquite for a Swim Meet (more on that to follow).
They played two games Friday and they lost both-it was kind of rough to watch the boys were just not playing well. Luckily they redeemed themselves on Saturday.
Saturday games were much better to watch. They won both. Tanner had some really good defense in the outfield and on third base. While Tanner was out on the field Bryce developed quite a following in the stands. He was surrounded by his 4 new girl friends (Miley, Presley, ?,?) for the entire four hours. They couldn't get enough of him and took turns holding him and walking him around in his stroller.
Okay here it is the highlight of both days. Tanner's team was down by 1 point. It was the last inning of the game and they were batting. Two outs. Bases Loaded. Tanner steps up to the plate and...hits a hard line drive past second base bringing in two runs and winning the games. It's a walk off for him. Now that is something every boy who plays baseball dreams of doing-hitting a walk off. So glad I was there to see it-I was so proud of him.
