9 Weeks Old

Look who's 9 weeks old..
The question everyone is asking is "Is he smiling yet?" Well I counted his first official smile as Tuesday March 26. He does smile but just a little and a lot of times they are these cute little half smiles like in the picture above. He is smiling more and more every day though and it's getting easier for him as he learns how to use those muscles in his face. We found some baby pictures of Tanner and they look so similar, so were thinking he might be a little Tanner mini-me, but I guess only time will tell.

Soccer Season

Chloe had her first soccer game of the season on Thursday. She did a great job and played the entire game. She was soooo tired because of the track meet earlier in the day. She could barely make it up and down the field at times, but she never quit trying. In fact she missed 8 goals by inches-it was so sad. Her team won though 4-1. Hopefully next week when she isn't dead tired those goals will go in :)

Track Meet

On Wednesday it was the Hershey Track Meet for George Washington Academy. Both of the kids participated. Tanner ran the 100 meter and Chloe did the softball throw, 50 meter and 100 meter. In Tanner's race he took 3rd in his heat. In Chloe's 50 meter she took 2nd in her heat. She took 1st in her heat in the 100. They both had a great time and were glad to be out of school for the day. They might have had a little too much sun though, I guess it was probably due to the fact that they had the track meet from 8-2 and then played with friends and then had baseball practice and a soccer game, because Tanner was throwing up by that night and Chloe fell asleep in the car.

Grandma Capone

Last week my Great Grandma Capone died, on Tuesday I went to her funeral. She was 92 years old. The last few years she hasn't really remembered who anyone was and has been in a care center, she has been hanging on, but it was finally time for her to go. One of the things I remember most about her is that every year for Christmas she would make me Danish Wedding Cookies-they were my favorite and so so yummy. The last few years she hasn't been well enough to do this but my Grandma Angie has stepped in a continued the tradition. She would have been a Great-Great Grandma to my kids although they didn't really know her well. She was a great lady. Love you Grandma :)

Anniversary

Yesterday was Landon and I's 13 year anniversary and yes Landon did have to remind me about it :)
It doesn't seem like it has been that long, but I guess time flies when your having fun. My Grandma watched the kids and we went on a little date to Paula's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. It was nice. So glad I have Landon in my life. I love him more everyday.
Here we are 13 years ago...
 Here we are today...

Scout Court of Honor

On Sunday Tanner had a scout court of honor. I forgot my camera and since Landon was conducting he didn't get any pictures with his phone either-bummer. Tanner received a rank advancement and is now a star scout. He also received 5 merit badges...personal management; citizenship in the world; pets; dog care; finger printing.

Sunday Morning

I decided the kids needed some color in their wardrobes or maybe I just needed to feel like it was Spring a little bit more. Whatever the reason I gave them their Easter clothes early. Don't they look so nice and Springy :)

8 Weeks Old-Spit Up and Shots

Bryce turned 8 weeks old today. He also had his 2 month checkup. He has been spitting up a lot. The doctor thinks he has a little bit of acid re-flux but says he is a happy spitter because he still seems to be thriving, so for now we just watch him, and try to do things to reduce the acid re-flux  Some days are better than others and some days the whole family has to change clothes at least once. We still love him though despite his spitting up on us :) He measured in at 10 lbs 12 oz which puts him in the 32 percentile for weight and 23 inches long which puts him in the 59 percentile for height. His head was 15.4 inches which is the 30 percentile. He is definitely growing. He also had to have 3 shots today while he was at the doctor. I thought it was 4 but that shows how long I have been out of the baby loop, because one of them is now given in liquid form that they drink, so he had that as well. The kids thought it was so sad he had to have so many shots, but Chloe was happy that at least they gave him  band-aids that matched his shirt.

Sleeping Baby

It's just too hard to resist taking pictures of him when he is sleeping.

Tanner's Science Fair Project

Tanner's science fair project for this year was pretty intense. It would have to be right-in order to send his father into the liquor store. HAHA! We needed 95% proof alcohol otherwise known as Ever-clear for the extraction process. His project was which fruit or vegetable has the most DNA. The process of DNA extraction is pretty lengthy, plus he extracted from each one 3 times to get an average, so this project took a long time! Guess which one has the most-Spinach. Does that mean it's the best for you? hmmmm

When he proposed this project to his science teacher her first response was that most 7th graders did not have the equipment on hand for DNA extraction. HAHA! We showed her the process we had found to do it with things around your house like pantyhose, blender, liquor (haha), etc. and she approved it. Tanner was so excited about it and sure he was going to win something, but guess what he didn't :( He was super sad about it. I mean the project that won was "Does a basketball bounce higher if it has more air?" Really! I think the judging was a little biased. Tanner did say though that after school his teacher told him that she thought his should have won and that he had definitely put the most work into it, which made him feel a little better. Then super mom to the rescue and a smoothie from Perks and all was forgotten-hopefully.

St. Patrick's Day

my little leprechauns...

March Madness Tournament

Tanner had another ball tournament last weekend (March Madness). It was sooo hot! We all got sunburned. This tournament is the biggest one we see in southern Utah. In Tanner's age division alone there were 42 teams-wow! They lost both of there games on Thurs., which really sucked because they should have had at least one of them. Then they won both of their Friday games. One of them was a complete blowout and the other one was an awesome victory! Tanner was still hitting really well in this tournament and played mostly left and a little bit of catcher. One time him and another player were both going for a ball in the outfield it was Tanner's ball but the shortstop went after it as well. They crashed into each other but even while taking the hit Tanner managed to hold onto the ball and didn't drop it. Everyone was pretty surprised. It was a great play.
Bryce had fun at the games and Chloe was so worn out by the time we headed home Friday night she fell fast asleep. No Championship round this time, you pretty much had to go 4-0 to get in, and I can't say I felt bad about that, because it was nice just to have a free Saturday with nothing to do :)

Spring Break

We didn't go anywhere for spring break, but we made the most of our time here in St. George and took advantage of the nice weather. I was so glad for the kids to get back to school today so I could have a little break. I feel like we were running constantly all week last week. It was fun, but I am exhausted!
Monday we went to Fiesta Fun.
Tuesday we went on a picnic and went hiking.
Wednesday we went to Anti Gravity.
Thursday Tanner had ball games and then after that we went to Laser Mania. Landon was able to come along as well and we had lots of fun playing laser tag, arcade games, and watching the 4D video.
Friday we went to lunch with Grandmas, helped grandma burn a bunch of weeds and the there was more ball games.
Saturday we had a BBQ with our neighbors.
Plus the kids played outside for hours on end everyday. A couple of days Chloe was so tired she was literally in tears by the time bedtime rolled around.
Thank you Starks for hanging out with us all week :)

7 Weeks Old

Our little guy is 7 weeks old today. He is growing fast and getting big. In fact he is getting a little bit chubby. He is so close to smiling at us when we talk to him, but he hasn't quite done it yet. It's a contest between us to see who he will smile at first :) He loves to look around and is getting way more alert. If we are holding him in the living room he will find the picture of Jesus hanging on the wall and just stare at it. We LOVE him!!!

6 weeks old

I can't believe he is 6 weeks old today!! He is growing up way to fast, everyday he is changing. He is more alert and can hold his head up really well. Last night and this morning were the first times I put him in 0-3 month clothes instead of newborns and they actually fit him quite well.

Chloe's Science Fair Project

Chloe's science fair project this year was "Can a Rubber Band Break a Watermelon?"
She had lots of fun with this one and so did Dad and Grandpa :)
I was milliseconds away from capturing the explosion on video too bad I missed it, it would have made an awesome video. Just in case your wondering it took 210 rubber bands to blow the top off this watermelon.
She ended up taking 2nd place and was pretty excited about it.

Bryce's Blessing Day

On Sunday Bryce was blessed. It was a special day for him. Doesn't he look cute in this little tux? My sister Tiffanie let us borrow it, her son Braxton wore it. Such a little angel.
Lots of friends and family helped us celebrate the special day. On Saturday night we had a dinner complete with chocolate fountain, per the kids request, at my Grandma Marshall's house. We were able to get two five generation photos. This little guy is really loved. The kids had fun playing with all of there cousins of course. When Dustin showed up to his motel he was quite disappointed when he found out Tanner wasn't there waiting for him. And as soon as Jack saw Tanner he said to him "Tanner do you want to play baseball or basketball?" haha I didn't get a picture of the two of them out in the front yard playing basketball in their Sunday best :)
Brenda took a few pictures of our family. Love my kiddos.

Spring Fling Tournament

Over the weekend Tanner's Baseball team played in the SU Spring Fling Tournament. It was fun because a lot of family was in town for the baby blessing so Tanner had lots of extra fans at his games. His grandpa and grandma and even great grandma had a blast watching him. He played left field, he was hitting extra well this tournament, and he used his magic while running the bases (hence the nickname-Speedy Gonzales). Even better was the fact that his team ended up winning the championship-woot, woot!!!

Even Baby Bryce made it to a few of the games-don't you love his baseball booties?

5 Weeks Old

Our little guy is 5 weeks old today. You can see how he is really starting to fill out in these pictures-although he is still pretty small and can't quite fit into his 0-3 months clothes yet, however some of his newborn ones are getting a little small, so it won't be long now.
