Quarantine Quilts

I got a little bit stir crazy when the quarantine was in full swing so I decided to try and do something productive and started using up some of the fabric I had on hand to make some quilts. I got several done. Now I just need to decide what to do with the finished ones. Maybe donate them somewhere?

Sunday Hike-Toquerville Falls

We went to Toquerville Falls for our Sunday Adventure this week, another place we have never visited. It was more of a drive, a super bumpy one, maybe more suited for a side by side or jeep, but we made it okay in the truck. Once we got there we got out and did some exploring and played in the water for a bit, before heading back home. I love that we are finding and exploring places we have never been before right were we live. The kids all look forward to our hikes every Sunday.
Pretty soon the weather is going to get to hot for our Sunday Hikes and we will have to postpone until the Fall, but we will enjoy them while we can.

Getting Organized

If there is one good thing about the quarantine it is that we have been getting organized and also tackling a lot of projects and things that needed to be done around the house. One of them was the shelves in our garage. They really needed to be organized. They were a jumble of mis-matched storage totes and things in random places. I spent days and a little bit of money to get it all pulled together and even was able to find matching totes to make it look even better. We like that they are clear so you can see what's inside without having to guess or write on them.
I wish I would have gotten a before picture, but here is the finished product.

Face Masks

During the COVID pandemic face masks became a reality for a lot of people. There were mixed reviews and signals as to whether or not they were actually effective. Luckily our state pretty much let people make the ultimate decision on whether or not they wanted to wear one. Some places you weren't given the right to make that choice. Our family opted to not wear them. With one exception-- if you visit the doctors office you were required too. That and Costco-which required everyone who came in their store to wear one. Needless to say, we stayed away from doctors offices and Costco as much as possible. We did have to go to a few therapy appointments for Bryce so I thought I would get a picture to document this crazy time in our lives.

Sunday Hike-Yant Flat

This Sunday we hiked to Yant Flat. You have to go on quite a drive to get there, but it was worth it. The views were amazing. This was an awesome hike one I hope we will do again someday.

Doodle Gram

It's been awhile since I did a doodle post. Here are a few cute snapshots of Mookie. He is getting huge by the way. When we tell people he is a puppy still they are shocked.

Fighting the Quarantine Blues

Everything shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic including schools, restaurants, parks, pools, etc. That meant Bryce was going to get bored pretty fast and I didn't just want him sitting on his electronics for 10 hours a day, so I bought him this water slide. (I used part of the stimulus check we received from the government to buy it-I mean I guess technically part of it was his anyways.) Hopefully it will help beet some of the COVID Blues and transition into a fun thing for summertime as well.

No More Training Wheels

We have tried to get Bryce to ride a bike without training wheels on and off for the last year. It is something that has proven to be a bit of a challenge for him. I finally assigned Chloe to the task. I told Chloe if she worked hard and got him to do it she could earn $20. I told Bryce if he learned how he could get a new Lego set. I assumed it would take a couple of weeks at least. Imagine my surprise when they came in and got me 15 minutes after they started working on it to show me that he could do it. I was shocked! The smile on Bryce's face was priceless. Good Job Bryce and Chloe!!!

Easter

Easter was a little bit different for us this year, due to COVID restrictions. Usually we spend Easter with Landon's whole family in Flowell and then sometimes do something with my family as well, like Easter dinner.
This year we just did our own thing, everyone did, because you aren't supposed to gather in groups of over 10. It was really sad actually that a tradition we have had for years, since Landon was a little kid, was just canceled because of a virus and the government.

I did find this really cool Easter egg design kit online. The kids loved it and had lots of fun decorating eggs with it.

We decided to get out of town and headed camping on the Arizona Strip. We found a remote spot and made camp. The kids loved being able to ride around on the 4 wheeler, the dogs just ran free, and I got some good reading time in.

We did a little bit of exploring and went on some trails. We found some pretty cool views.

The Easter bunny managed to find us, even way out on the desolate desert.
Bryce woke up just as early as he typically does when its a holiday and was excited to find his Easter basket filled with lots of fun things including some dinosaur eggs, books, and a few treats.
When the sun came up he ran outside and found tons of eggs hidden around camp.
The Easter Bunny even left a basket for Chloe

We ended up having a really good weekend together and even though we missed seeing all of our other family members, we made the best of it and created some great memories.
