6 month check up

Yesterday I took Bryce in for his 6 month checkup. The doctor said he is doing good and looks like a happy, healthy baby. He has met all of his appropriate milestones such as rolling and sitting up, and he said he has a really nice head shape-lol, and nice blue eyes like his sister(she was with me).
He weighed 15 lbs 12 oz which is 17th percentile.
He was 26 and 3/4 inches long which is 60th percentile.
He is tall and skinny.
While we were there the doctor also checked out Chloe's finger again. Good news it had finally started to regrow the skin, so he didn't have to put the liquid nitrogen on it-what a relief.

Championship Swim Meet

Over the weekend Chloe went to the Championship Swim Meet. This is the biggest swim meet we attend and is two days long. Well it's two days long if you make it to the races the second day, which are the championship heats. The kids and I got to the meet at 7:00 am Friday morning and we didn't get home that day until about 4:00 pm-that is about 9 hours spent at the swim meet-WOW! We set up camp and just settled in.
All relay results were final. Any other races they took the top 5 and they swam Saturday for the Championships. FYI the relay teams were all messed up they switched girls at the last minute so they had the wrong girls on the wrong teams and gave out ribbons and medals to the wrong kids, so what they had written on paper and what really happend doesn't match up but the results I am putting on here are the real thing
Chloe's Events
Day 1
200 Meter Freestyle Relay- Chloe's team took 4th
50 Meter Backstroke-Chloe took second with a time of 55.72 and moved onto day two
50 Meter Breaststroke-Chloe took 13th with a time of 1:05.52
200 Meter Medley Relay-Chloe's team took 3rd
50 Meter Freestyle-Chloe took 10th with a score of 50.8
Day 2
50 Meter Backstroke-Chloe took second with a time of 55.67
She got the silver medal and was so excited. She swam so good in this race-really straight with a perfect flip turn. What's even better about this win is that it was the first time this year she had swam the backstroke in a competition and also the fact that she hadn't really been to practice all week because of her finger.
Chloe is having an awesome year. Most of the girls beating her are 10, so next year she will dominate her age group. She loves swimming and is so happy to be back in the water!!!

26 weeks old=6 months=1/2 a year

I seriously can't believe that he is already six months old. Where has the time gone? He is such a happy good baby. We are so blessed because it seems we are always on the go and it would be super hard if he was a fussy baby. For example these pictures were taken at Chloe's swim meet. Yesterday I had his 6 month pictures taken-can't wait to get them back! He is now the proud owner of two teeth-and he likes to bite his mommy. He loves to eat his baby food and drink out of a cup like a big boy. He also loves popsicles and ice! He has started throwing tantrums if we take something away from him-especially if it is paper. He can sit up really well now and has really good balance. He is growing up way way to fast.

24th of July

On the 24th of July Chloe and I went to a parade being held in Washington with my sister and her kids. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland is from Washington and he came home to be in the parade. It was very fitting that they had God's Army marching before him-stripling warriors (from the Book of Mormon), boy scouts, and missionaries. It was pretty cool although the parade itself was rather short.
Later that night we went out to my Grandma Marshall's house for a BBQ. My cousin Audria and her family was there as well. We made homemade ice cream and did some fireworks. It was lots of fun!!! Fun days with family are the best.

Carousel

We took Bryce on his first ride on the Carousel...

Tanner was with us but I didn't get a picture of him since he was taking the pictures.

Chloe's Thumb

When Saydee and Gavin were down Chloe got a cut under her thumb. Then somewhere along her adventures probably at gym or swim she picked up staff infection in the cut. Her finger started swelling up and just looked horrible. Landon and I tried to doctor it and get out the infection on our own but finally on Friday morning (July 19) I decided it couldn't wait any longer and took her to the doctor. He said it was really infected, he had to numb it, and then lance out the infection, and cut off a bunch of skin that was dead and ruined. Chloe was so brave she didn't cry once even while getting the shots to numb it.
Little brother helped to cheer her up....
After the ordeal I took her and brother to See Monster University as a special treat.
Brother Chillin with Sully after the movie.
The doctor also put Chloe on a really strong antibiotic. It made her really sick to her stomach and also made her mouth break out in cancers. Also Friday night she woke up with a really high fever from the infection and fought that for about 24 hours. By Monday she was doing better, but when I took her in they discovered the antibiotic they had put her on was ineffective against staff infection so they switched antibiotics. The doctor checked it again today and said the infection is doing better, but if it doesn't start to heal a little bit better by Tuesday he is going to have to put some liquid nitrate on it to get the wound to close up, which won't be fun. We'll cross our fingers and say our prayers that she is doing better by then.
This whole week she has been out of swim and gym. She has been dying to get in the pool. The doctor gave her the go ahead to go to swim team tonight, so she is there as I am typing probably swimming her little heart out.

Scout Camp

Last Thursday and Friday Tanner went to scout camp. He has been to scout camp before but only when Landon was going to so this was his first time going all alone. He missed one earlier in the year that was a week long one. He and we just didn't feel like he would have handled that one very well, because of his anxiety and the fact that he doesn't like to be where he can't get cleaned up when he wants to. However, we decided since this one was only two nights he could probably handle it. He was actually excited and looking forward to going. Everything seemed to be going fine. Then at 2 o'clock in the morning on Friday I started getting texts from Tanner-ha ha. He had a little bit of a hard time that first night, but he did just fine the second and really enjoyed his time there. He didn't even seem to mind the service projects they worked on while there.

25 weeks old

He is 25 weeks old and is now able to roll both ways. He tries to scoot but just gets high centered on his stomach while kicking his legs as fast as he can. He has really good control of his hands so you have to be careful or he will knock over, pull, or eat anything he can grab hold of. He loves to pull sister and Mommy's hair. The other day he grabbed a big handful of my salad and shoved it in his mouth. He also got a hold of my plate with a brownie on it and was licking it. If you can't tell we love him to bits. He does not care for green beans, but likes anything else we give him including fresh frozen peaches to suck on.

Preslie Ann

Announcing the much awaited arrival of our niece and cousin...
Preslie Ann Bulow
Born July 16, 2013@ 4:37am

Cute as a Button!!!
The kids were appalled that the nurses had put syrup in her hair to stick the bow in-gasp!~

Swim Meet July 13, 2013

On Saturday the 13th Chloe had her second swim meet of the year. This time it was against Fredonia and she had some pretty hard competition. All in all she swam really well though and we couldn't have been prouder or our little fish.
Her little buddy there to cheer her on and make the wait time more bearable.
 Getting ready on the block.
 Swimming in her breast-stroke race.
Doing the butterfly in her IM...
Neck and neck in the freestlye...
Her ribbons to add to her collection...
Well she swam 5 races again. First was the 200 yard free Relay. Her team took 3rd with a time of 3:06.92.
2nd up was her 50 Meter Breast-Stroke she took 6th out of 19 with a time of 55.19. Only one 9 year old beat her in this race.
3rd was her 100 Meter IM with a time of 1:57.59 she took 6th out of 7 with only one 9 year old beating her in this race as well.
4th was the 200 meter Medley Relay. Someone on Chloe's team didn't show up she she swam the first and last leg of this relay-not sure if that's even legal-ha ha, but her team ended up taking second with a time of 3:23.19.
Her 5th and final race was her 50 Meter Freestyle She took 7th of 17 with a time of 43.84-personal best.

A few funny things about this swim meet-we had to have a lunch break so the Jehovah Witness's could use the pool to do some baptisms-lol. Also during the lunch break we went to Jimmy Johns-Chloe's fav-now usually her and I share a Turkey Tom (8" sub). Well I walked next door to grab a couple of smoothies and by the time I got back she had eaten the whole thing-that swimming really takes a lot out of a girl-to funny-doesn't she look to little to eat a sandwich that size by herself.

24 Weeks Old

He is 24 weeks old and now has one tooth poking out on the bottom. While he was cutting his tooth he was super sick for a few days and refused to eat baby food for about a week. Now he is gobbling it down again he eats rice cereal as well as pears, squash, sweet potatoes, and bananas. He was thrilled to death when great grandma gave him a real banana to eat the other day. He was also extremely fussy while cutting his tooth, but now he seems to be back to his normal happy self most of the time.

Fun Week with Cousins

After our week in Fillmore last week Saydee and Gavin came down to St. George for the week. The kids look forward to the week they get to spend with cousins every year. We try to do lots and lots of fun stuff, but still try to have a little bit of order-yeah right.
Monday-we went and got FREE FROZEN YOGURT at Yogurtland with Aunt Sandi. This is the kids favorite place to go for a treat.
Tuesday-we met up with my sister Tiffanie and went to my Grandma's friends house to swim. There was so many pool toys floating around you could barely see the kids-ha ha. They had fun. Grandma fed everyone popsicles afterwards.
Wednesday-we went to Jumping Jacks. Tyler and Sam met up with us too, and the kids had a blast. Tanner even took Bryce down the big slide a few times.
Thursday-we went swimming at Sand Hallow Aquatic Center and then my sister came to pick up her kids. On their way out of town we met up with my Dad and Kathy at Yogurtland once again. The kids couldn't have been happier-twice in one week. They were sad to say goodbye but they had a blast while it lasted :)

New Do's

On Monday Chloe went to a Birthday Party at Evans Hair-styling College. They did each girls hair and nails. She looked so cute all dolled up.
Tanner has been really itching to do something with his hair for awhile now, every time he would get paid from mowing lawns he would debate about if he was going to pay to get his hair done or buy something else. He finally broke down and went for an all over bleach. It took us a few days to get used to. He is super happy with it :)
