T-Ball Game

Chloe had a t-ball game last night. It was so very cold, but she still seemed to have fun.
This is her before the game (always the fashion diva)
The t-ball games go for two innings both teams get two turns at bat and two turns fielding. Everyone gets a turn to hit when their team is up to bat. The kids get three pitches from their coach and then if they don't hit they get to hit it off a tee. The last two weeks Chloe has hit from the pitch from her coach her first time up to bat. On both of her second turns she has had to use the tee. But that's still good, she is actually doing great. A lot of the kids have yet to hit a pitch from the coach.

It is fun to watch the kids in the field. They all run for the ball even if it's not in their zone. They all throw kind of funny to. Although they are starting to get the hang on the game a little bit more. There were a few close outs on first last night. Chloe is so funny she will run for the ball but if anyone else comes close to it she just gives up and lets them get it-she certainly doesn't get her aggressiveness from her mother. HAHA.

Gymnastics

I stayed to watch Chloe at gymnastics yesterday and so I was able to get a few picts and some video.
This video is of her back hand spring. You can't tell as much from the picture but her coach is barely spotting her she is pretty much doing it on her own.
Her two favorite things are the bars and the floor exercises.
She is working on or can do....
cartwheels
round-offs
handstands
handstands into a bridge
bridge kick overs
3 or 4 different tricks on the bars (sorry I don't know all the technical names for them)
beginning techniques on the balance beam
back hand springs
and starting yesterday the beginning fundamentals for an arial

Who Wears Skirts to T-Ball Practice?

This is the ensemble Chloe threw together to wear to her t-ball practice. Really? Yes she is wearing a skirt, luckily she has Capri's under them. What a cutie! She definitely has her own style.
Also at t-ball practice tonight one of the little boys got hit right in the mouth with a bat. He was bleeding all over the place. We are unsure of at this point as to whether he is missing any teeth. The status that we heard after he was ushered home was that he was probably going in to get some stitches. Poor Little GUY! T-Ball is definitely a dangerous sport. Trust me I know I help at Chloe's practices quite a bit and you had better look out when a few of those kids throw you the ball. LOL

Ribbit! Ribbit!

On Saturday when we were planting the garden I unrooted this little toad as I was making a furrow. Luckily I didn't cut him in half with the hoe. The kids both liked him but neither one of them would touch him or hold him. Tanner did try for about 2 seconds and then promptly dropped him. Then on Saturday as we were walking into my parents house Chloe started screaming because a frog almost jumped on her toe. Landon picked it up and took it into my parents house. Chloe decided to be brave and get a closer look, not a good idea the frog jumped onto her shirt and started trying to climb down the front. She by that point was screaming at the top of her lungs then the frog jumped on her shoulder-by now she is bawling hysterically. Landon finally rescued her. Poor girl was traumatized. I asked her why she didn't just kiss it so it would have turned into a prince and she didn't think I was very funny at all.

I think I'm getting the hang of this

Here is my latest attempt at digital scrapbooking. I was actually really pleased with this layout. I am still using alot of templates to get me going and give me ideas but I am starting to pull in more of my own elements on top of that and am becoming pretty comfortable with the program. I am loving digital and have made a goal to get all of m 2008 stuff that I haven't already scrapped done ASAP. I have been doing about 2 layouts per week so hopefully I will have it finished soon.

Pitcher

Tanner pitched his first game of baseball last night. He did an awesome job! He even had 5 strikeouts. Another time he fielded the ball and threw it to first for an out. He pitched the first three innings. Know he won't be able to pitch until next week, because rules say with the number of pitches he threw he can't ptich again for 4 days. In his league they have the kids pitch and then they have the machine set up and running behind them. IF they get four balls then they pitch the remaing number of strikes from the machine. I can proudly say that while Tanner was pitching they didn't use the machine once! They came close one time, but didn't end up using it. Not so for the other pitchers from both the other team and our own.
His whole team played really well last night, if you don't count the first inning. They had two innings where the fielded so well. Three up three down both times. In the last inning one of the kids on Tanner's team hit an awesome run. They ended up winning 9-7. They also won last Thursday 17-16. Must be the great coach they have. wink wink

Happy Birthday Landon

It was Landon's Birthday on Friday. He is now a whopping 32 years of age.
The kids and I got him this new sleeping bag for the deer hunt. He had to test it out and of course the kids wanted to join him.
I feel bad because I didn't make him a birthday cake. However we did go out to Red Robin for a Birthday Burger. We also went out to ColdStone for some ice-cream which is almost as good as birthday cake anyways.
Happy Birthday Landon. We Love You!!!

Little Girls and Pocket Knifes= TROUBLE

I gave Chloe Landon's pocket knife and said take this to Dad. Note-IT WAS SHUT! A few seconds later she came running in screaming and crying I cut myself. Can you guess? yes she had decided that she needed to open the pocket knife up and take a closer look and sliced her thumb pretty good in the process. At first look we thought for sure she was going to have to have stiches but we finally got the bleeding to stop with her screaming the whole time I don't want to get stiches-and decided a bandaid should do the trick. Now it's time for some pain reliver and bed. Poor Little Inocent Girl. LOL
Well we're 3 for 4 on the finger accidents I guess I had better guard mine very carefully.

A Tale of Two Earrings

So as many of you may know Chloe has been counting down the days to when she could change her earrings, since getting them pierced last month. Easter was the official day for this. Well it didn't go as smoothly as possible. One earring came off just fine and we were able to change it out however not so with the second. The back just wouldn't come off and I am not joking. Everyone took a turn trying to get it out all the while her ear was getting sore and begining to bleed especially one time after mommy pulled on it a little too hard. Now what-I guess resort to tools yep Landon had to pull out some wire cutters and even that didn't make is simple he tried 4 different pairs and various attemps before he was finally able to break it and get the dang thing out. It took almost an hour. I was thinking we were really going to have to take her into the doctor and have them cut it off. She was so brave and patient through the whole process and was so glad when she could finally put her new "dangly" earrings in.
To bad I didn't get some pictures of the whole process they would have been a great laugh down the road.

EASTER

We had a great Easter in Flowell. It was so nice to see all of our family-many of whom we hadn't seen since Christmas. The kids had so much fun with all of their cousins. We had a massive easter egg hunt with 90 plastic filled easter eggs and probably about that many real ones. It was a little bit cold but we even made it out to the sandhills for a little while on Saturday. What a fun weekend we had.

Easter Eggs and Homemade Suckers

On Friday we went to my Mom and Dads to let the kids dye their Easter Eggs. Taelor came over too. They had fun!
Then Great Grandma showed up with an Easter Sucker making kit. The kids thought this was so cool. They had fun making suckers for themselves and cousins in Flowell.

All-Star

Tanner had his second game of the season tonight! It was fun to watch he is already improving and hit everytime and did a good job fielding and playing third base. He's is such a cutie. Look out he's going to be pitching in a couple of weeks! (they start kid pitch 2 weeks into it-Landon has picked about 6 of the players to rotate through as pitchers) It was still way to cold for St. George. I had to wear a big sweatshirt, gloves, and earmuffs to the game.

Paper Route

Tanner has his first official job as a paper boy. This is the perfect job for him because it is only once every two weeks so it's not an everyday thing, but just enough to let him earn a little money without getting burned out. He has 170 papers to start and will probably be doing 200 before long. It's 5 cents a paper so not a whole lot but enough for a little boy, though he wasn't to sure about it when he found out he had to fold them all and put them in bags before he could deliver them.
Fold
Stuff
Stack
Deliver

Usually he will be able to ride his bike and deliver them after school but due to that fact that he has a ball game tonight at 6:00 we wouldn't have enough time so I got him up at six this morning and drove him around to do it and yes he ran and dropped them off at every house. He also did most of the folding and stuffing last night although I did help him just a little bit. I think this will be a good lesson in responsibility, hard work and money management.

T-Ball

T-Ball is a new experience for us. Tanner went right into machine pitch so it is quite a difference. Chloe had her first game and if it hadn't been so blasted cold and windy it would have been quite humurous and enjoyable. Hopefully we can have nice weather the rest of the season so the kids can have fun to and not just be out there freezing there buns off. What a cutie she is though. The only girl on her team all decked out with pink from her mitt to her batt.
