Family Night Bowling

Last night for Family Night we went bowling. Grandma Tawny came with us. It has been awhile since we have gone and it was lots of fun. Tanner ended up wining with a score of 131, and Mommy came in a close second. Landon used to be the best bowler ever, but since his accident with his fingers he kind of struggles cause he can't really hold the bowling ball now. He still usually wins me though, so I was surprised that I beat him, however it was only by a couple of points. Chloe had lots of fun, but at the end she was crying when she realized she didn't win-haha. It was fun to watch her she would go up there and like roll the ball down the lane, sometimes she would have her butt completely in the air trying to give the ball a good hard push. Then she would be dancing and skipping around-always a little live wire.

Last 2 Soccer Games

This week Chloe played her last two soccer games. It seemed like the season went by super fast, but I guess that's what happens when your playing two games a week. Chloe's team ended up being undefeated for the entire season-which is quite a feat. It's not often you can say you were on a team that never lost a game. In fact they only had two goals scored against them the entire season. One in the first game and one in the last.
On Wednesday they won 1-0. It was a really tough game, but they fought through it. Chloe got a ball to the stomach at one point that knocked the wind out of her, but she got right back in there. She didn't score the goal but she had a lot of assists and great defense as well as a couple of near misses.
On Saturday they won 4-1. Once again no goals, but awesome D and teamwork. Chloe has lots of support at her games. Great Grandma is the number one fan and Grandma Tawny has been to several of her games as well. Aunt Mandy and Saydee attended the last one and Grandpa Leland and Kathy were even able to make it to one of them.
At the end they got trophies and their coaches had pizza for them. All of the girls on Chloe's team were awesome. It was fun watching them play together all season.

13 Weeks=3 Months=A Quarter of a Year

Well Bryce is 13 weeks old, 3 months,a quarter of a year old. However you want to say it our baby is growing up fast.  He weighs 13.2 oz and is 24 inches long.
I couldn't help taking his pictures while he was asleep this time. He is so cute, but especially cute while he is sleeping. He is such a good and happy baby. He loves talking with brother and sister and will have long conversations with them. The other day Tanner asked if he could read him a story-his new favorite Star Wars ABC's. After the story Tanner was telling me which characters he liked and of course Yoda was his favorite. Chloe is always telling me big plans for her brother what he'll do, what he'll dress up like for Halloween, what we'll get him for his 1st Birthday. I love that they both love him so much. The other day I jokingly said that Bryce didn't think he wanted to play baseball when he got bigger-this didn't get a very good reaction from Landon and Tanner, but Chloe thinks he will be a great soccer player. HA HA only time will tell what our little guy will become.

Career Day

Yesterday was career day for Tanner. They were supposed to go to work with someone instead of going to school. He chose to go with my mom. She works for an eye doctor as the office manager. So Tanner got to learn how to do lots of cool things like give an eye exam, take a picture of the eye, sort frames, bill insurance,  and help build a sandcastle (part of a publicity stunt). He had a fun and was happy he didn't have to be in an actual classroom. After work him and Grandma stopped at SWIG for a smoothie :)

My Brother is a Tease

One day while Tanner was home recuperating I walked in the front-room and saw Bryce like this-with his socks on his hands. I was like what in the world? Big Brother has started the teasing already :) I couldn't help but laugh and take a picture.
 Stick up your dukes Tanner?

Baby Breckon

My sister Tiffanie had her baby on Monday April, 22, 2013. Breckon Hunter Bulow 7 lbs. 13 oz. 21 inches long. Yesterday I was able to go over and see him. He is such a little cutie. I can't even believe how big Bryce seems already compared to him. When I was holding him he seemed so little, and yet Bryce was even smaller when he was born. It made me sad to realize how quickly you forget and how fast they grow up. I am glad he is finally here, and happy Bryce will have a cousin so close in age to play with. Chloe is so jealous she hasn't seen him yet and can't wait to get her hands on the little guy.

Weekly Little League Update

I have no pictures to show for this week, it was just a bad week for little league.
On Tuesday they lost, don't even remember who they played or the score but they lost. Tanner was too sick to even really play. Yesterday they lost it was a debacle really. They did alright the first few innings, but then they just lost control. Tanner did some pitching but you could tell he still didn't have the strength to do as good as he usually does. His first at bat he got an awesome hit but the right fielder got lucky and caught it, and he struck out his next at bat. His team made tons of fielding errors, and it was just a nightmare. To top it all off I got hit hard on the top of the head by a foul ball from a neighboring field. Glad it was me and not Bryce. Hopefully next week will be better.

Soooo Sick!

On a previous post a wrote that Tanner wasn't feeling well. Well he was sicker than I thought at the time and sicker than I think he has ever been. He was seriously down flat for at least three days and out of commission for about 6 days. He missed almost a week of school. He had a really bad stomach flu virus that has been going around and it hit him hard. He didn't eat or keep anything down, combined with a high fever for the first three days. Then after that it took him several days to even be able to walk without almost passing out. On Tuesday he really wanted to go to his game, so we went, but he was only able to sit in the dugout and almost couldn't even handle that. Yesterday he was doing much better and today I would say he is almost back to normal. Hopefully the rest of us don't get it.

Still Undefeated

Chloe's soccer team had a game yesterday and once again they won. 4-0. They are still undefeated with only two games left to go in the season. I didn't get any picts yesterday cause Landon and I were coaching as the coaches were out of town. Chloe got hurt in the second quarter when she was trampled by a clumsy Neanderthal on the other team. I am not even joking the girl was taller than Tanner and weighed twice as much. It almost crushed Chloe's foot. I know she was hurt bad because my Chloe doesn't really cry she is a really tough girl and she was crying and even came out of the game. She shook it off pretty good though and got right back out there a few minutes later. No goals for her, but lots of good defense and hard work.

12 Weeks Old

Look at those smiles! Isn't he cutest thing ever?
In these pictures he is wearing one of my favorite outfits. He smiles so much now and is really close to laughing. When he gets excited he kicks and waves his arms as fast as he can. Sometimes he moves himself around as he kicks :)

Weekly Little League Update

Here is the weekly little league report.
Tuesday Mariners vs Cardinals (worst team in the league) 0-13.
Really! Can you tell the whole team was apparently having a bad night, the freezing cold and rain didn't help much. Tanner didn't hit, couldn't throw, couldn't catch it was the worst game I have ever seen him play, and the rest of his team was playing the same way he was. Wow! bad bad night
Thursday Mariners vs Red Sox (best team in the league) 11-4
Seriously! How does that happen? You lose to the worst and win the best. I guess that's baseball right. Tanner caught for most of the game and pitched the last 3 innings. He had 8 strikeouts and only let one kid even touch first base in those three innings. He hit too, and got on base twice. This was a much much better game to watch :) Landon keeps stats online and sometimes they are fun to look at. Here they are for Thursday's pitching...

After the game we took Tanner to get a frozen yogurt-his fave, he got really sick and didn't even eat it. He started having the chills and was running a fever. The flu has been going around his class, so I guess he finally caught it. He is supposed to play in a ball tournament this weekend, but this morning he is still on the couch asleep and not doing so well, so we'll see how he is feeling after a bit. Maybe he can at least play in the games tomorrow.

Trouble at School

Well yesterday something happened that I never thought would happen with Tanner. I received an email from his teacher with a bad report. I was somewhat relieved that the same note went out to three other parents as well. Apparently Tanner and some of the kids at his table were disrespectful to their teacher during class by talking while she was presenting even when she had repeatedly asked them not to, at one point she was giving an important message and they continued with their chatter. She asked them each to stay in from recess, and assigned them a paragraph to write on disrespect, as well as sending each parent an email. She was nice enough not to send them to the principal.
When Tanner got home I told him that I was disappointed in his actions. I also required that he write his teacher a personal apology before he was allowed any electronics (t.v., computer, phone, wii) or any type of baseball including at home practice with his Dad. I hope the message got through. I realize that Tanner is going through a time in his life where he is trying to figure out who he is and how he fits in, but at the same time I still think it's important that he learns respect for those around him, hopefully this won't ever happen again.

Pink Eye

My poor baby boy has pink eye. It's so sad his eye is just all yucky and I have no clue where he got it from. Hopefully it will clear up in a few days : (

Saturday-Yard Sale and Soccer

On Saturday we had our annual family yard sale. We had tons of business and did better as a whole than we have in awhile. I did pretty well bringing in $75, which is really good considering I didn't sale anything that was over $10, and most of the stuff I was selling was like .50. So that shows just how much stuff we got rid of. Chloe and her friend Brydee wanted to sell stuff, so we let them set up a muffin and drink stand. Brydee would stay at the table and Chloe would run up and down the street to the corner holding a sign and flagging people our way-ha ha. I seriously think she helped our traffic flow. Muffin sales were great. I think they made around $22 and then split it. They are always wanting to do things to earn money and are both such good workers, last week I seriously had them scrub my kitchen floor and was so happy with the results, I considering hiring them on a weekly basis. The labor is considerably affordable too :)
We left during the yard sale for Chloe's soccer game. They won 12-0. Chloe had 3 goals and she had even more assists. Her team is still undefeated and she doesn't let us forget that. Our new tradition after her Saturday games has become to stop at Dixie Nutrition and get her a frozen yogurt : )

Teacher Appreciation Week

For the past three years I have been in charge of teacher appreciation week at my kids school. This year was my fourth year doing it. It is a pretty big ordeal and takes lots and lots of hours to prepare. I have to make sure all the doors in the school get decorated and the halls are hung with signs expressing appreciation, make and deliver little notes to the teachers/staff each day, bring in snacks and goodies for them to eat throughout the week, do prize drawings, and put on a lunch for about 80 staff members. In the past I have even done an assembly and video. I definitely could not pull it off without lots of good help thank goodness for good friends and willing volunteers.  It makes it worth it because the teachers/staff are always so appreciative of what we do. Landon usually ends up getting roped into doing at least a few of the doors for me. Here is the one he made for the janitor.
There is no "puzzle" about why we love our janitors!
Here's the one he did for Chloe's teacher. She helped him and loved every minute of it.
"Here's the scoop-we love Mrs. Erickson"!
I wish I would have taken pictures of all of the doors, because some of them were truly sights to behold. I think the people that decorated them seriously must have spent like 20 hours on them.
We served Chinese food at the lunch for the teachers/staff. The theme was - We are very "fortunate" to have you working here. I wish I would have gotten more pictures of all the decor, but it was cute and fun. One of the janitors at the school makes cakes on the side and he made this awesome Strawberry Short Snake or Dragon to go along with the theme.

11 weeks old

I wish I could freeze time for just a short while-my baby is just growing up way to fast. I can't believe he is already 11 weeks old. I don't feel like it has been that long, but it has. He is smiling a lot now and he will coo and goo at us. He doesn't really cry much-he more like fusses when he is hungry or upset. He is such a little trooper being dragged around as we follow big Brother and Sister to there many endeavors  They both love him to pieces. He still spits up but not as much as he was before. Landon can't wait to get home everyday just to see him.

Details

I don't want to forget the little things about Bryce as he is growing up so quickly. One of the things that we have noticed is that he always holds his hands like this-in a fist with his thumb up under his pointer finger. Just a little detail about him I don't want to forget.

Little League Update

Little League Weekly Update
Tuesday Mariners vs Angels
They tied 5-5. Highlights from the game :Tanner pitched for 4 innings. He had at least 7 strike-outs and a couple of catches to make an out. When he was done pitching he played short-stop.
Thursday Mariners vs Rangers
They lost 2-3. Highlights: Tanner caught the whole game. He came really close to getting a couple of throw outs. He scored the first run of the game
He is doing pretty good in little league so far this year, but is not without errors. So far he has only been on base once, but his at bats are looking good. He has made a couple errors in his fielding, but for the most part he is spot on. He gets a little frustrated because most of his team is not at the same level he is so they can easily miss a ball that he throws to them. He is pretty hard on him self when things don't go right so we try to make little league more about him having fun and doing his best and not take it quite as serious as travel ball.

Soccer Double Header

On Wednesday Chloe had a soccer double header. She had one game at 5 and then one at 7. It was so cold and windy that Landon and I took turns sitting in the car and watching so Bryce didn't get to much wind. He helped me honk the horn when Chloe scored a goal :)
In her first game they won 1-0. Chloe scored the only goal of the game. She also played goalie and rocked it.
The second game they won 6-0. Chloe had 1 goal and a couple of nice assists. So far her team is undefeated. I heard a couple of the coaches from other teams talking about how good Chloe's team was. They were impressed that it seemed like they all really knew how to play soccer and were doing things like stopping the ball and turning it and that they had some pretty nice foot work and fast players. Landon said Chloe's team is stacked. Good for us-bad for everyone else.

Perm Job

Last night Grandma Tawny gave her another perm. She absolutely loves it. She has been bouncy around all morning saying now it's time for the Frizy Lizy Show-ha ha!

All Tuckered Out

Poor little guy all tuckered out after a long hard day...

2 Goals

Chloe had another soccer game on Saturday and I'm happy to report our girl is back. She had two goals and near misses on several others. She also had several good assists and great defense. At the first of the game she volunteered to sit out we were both shocked. She said it was because she wanted to sit out first so that she could play the rest of the game without a break. That's our girl a real go getter. The fields are longer this year so by the end of her game she is purely exhausted. There is no way I could run up and down the field as much as she does without passing out. Her team ended up wining 6 to 0.

10 Weeks

He smiles so much more these days, but they are still hard to get out of him. I have yet to capture a good one on camera. He is getting bigger and more alert every day. He has started following you with his eyes when you walk away from him, and I think he can claim the title of being to more sporting events than any 2 month old out there-lol. He for the most part is a really really good baby. Love Him!!!

It has begun

Well Little League has officially begun. These pictures are of opening day. Tanner was so excited for it to start up and so far his team is off to a great start.
Game #1 Mariners vs Rockies they won 4 to 3. Tanner caught the whole game and had an awesome throw out at second.
Game #2 Mariners vs Dodgers they ended in a tie 0 to 0. Really! Tanner caught for most of the game and then played an inning and a half at short stop. He came in to close as the pitcher. They had two outs and needed one more. He threw 4 times and that was that the game was over. 1 ball and three strikes.

Easter

We celebrated Easter on Saturday this year. Growing up that's what Landon's family always did so a lot of times that's what we ended up doing. The kids were super excited for the scavenger hunt to find their Easter baskets. We usually just hide them but this year they had clues to follow to find them-it will definitely be a new tradition. They had fun doing it this way. Chloe got some chalk, a new, book, some clothes for her doll, and of a chocolate Reese's bunny. Tanner got a basketball hoop for the back of his door, some Nike sandals and socks, and a Reese's bunny as well. Bryce got some books and toys. I never thought I'd see the day when Tanner was so into clothes and how he looked. He couldn't have been happier and immediately put on his new attire.
Saturday afternoon we went over to my Dad and Kathy's house for a little get together. It was nice because all of my sisters were able to come and the kids always love seeing their cousins. We had a big Easter egg hunt and a BBQ. Chloe found the golden ticket, or I guess Tanner did but he gave it to her, it said it was  "good for a camping trip with Grandpa and Grandma." She was pretty excited about it.
Sunday we had Easter Dinner at my Grandma Marshall's. Two of my sisters and my cousin Audria along with their families came. As you can see from the top photo Choe's little cousin Audria loves her to pieces. We started with another Easter Egg hunt. The kids each had to find a special egg with a golden dollar inside. We had yummy barbecue with Grandma's famous potato salad. I made a pineapple upside down cake and Gram made a bunny cake. I asked Landon if the bunny brought back memories as that is the cake he would get for his birthday most every year when he was growing up.

Easter Tournament

Last week was the Easter Baseball Tournament. It was a Thursday, Friday, Saturday tournament. So on Thursday I took the kids, and my Grandma and headed to Vegas. Tanner had two back to back games and they won both. They turned out to be a landslide wins. The first one they won 24-1 and the second was like 26-4. It was like batting practice for them. In fact in the last few innings of the second game the coach was letting the boys bat left handed and use wood bats. Tanner got on base a few times hitting lefty.
Friday there were more games. They were a little closer but they still won both of them. Making them 4-0 and getting them the #2 seed for the championship round.
Saturday morning they sadly got beat out in their first game. It was disappointing-but Tanner did have two great catches in left in the first inning.
Chloe is glad to have Bryce to hang out with in the games. Luckily we had a tent and some umbrellas to try and keep him out of the wind and sun as much as possible.
