Beaver Tournament

A few days after we got home from New York Chloe had a softball tournament in Beaver. Landon wasn't able to make it cause he was catching on stuff from work after being gone for over a week. So Chloe, Bryce, and I just went. We stayed at my Grandma's house in Cedar. Bryce was lucky enough to be able to stay with her during the games and they were both pretty happy with that arrangement.
Chloe played really well. She caught the entire time, since the other catcher was injured. She was pretty worn out by the time the tournament was over. I think she was asleep before we hit the freeway. If you think about it...that's a lot of squats in 2 days.

Party at the New House

We had our friends from our old neighborhood over to have a little party and let them see the new house. We had food, karaoke, and a outdoor movie-it was lots of fun. That's one of the things I will miss about our old house is the friends that were so close by and that we had known for so long and some of the great get togethers we would have.

The girls pulled a trick on the boys and pretended we were taking a picture and then someone snuck around the fence and threw a bucket of water on them.

Things got a little wild when Brandon and Landon joined the party on the trampoline. I think there was only one injury reported.

Yellow Beach Cruiser

Someone posted this yellow beach cruiser for sale and when I saw it I couldn't resist buying it for Chloe. It just spoke to me as being her.
It was yellow-her new favorite color and it was a beach cruiser. I mean how could she not love it..
...and she does.

Snakes in The Pool

We were swimming at my friend Lisa's pool and the kids kept telling me there was a snake on the bottom of the pool. I kept telling them it wasn't. I was like there is no way that is a snake its just a plant or something. Well Chloe insisted and swam down with a net and actually fished out two baby snakes that had drowned. I guess I was wrong. Bryce was pretty intrigued with it all, hopefully it won't scare him from swimming. ;)

Veyo Pool

One of our favorite summer time traditions is to visit Veyo Pool and Crawdad Canyon and least once. Since my Mom was still in town from watching Bryce and Chloe while we were in New York we decided to go with her and all the cousins.
The kids all had a blast catching crawdads and most of them spent all of their time down at the river doing just that.

Breckon and Bryce took a little time to swim in the pool.

It was a fun day. We are lucky to have so many cousins close by.

Happy Birthday from New York

Chloe turned 14 while we were in New York. My Mom was watching her and Bryce and she did take them camping for Chloe's birthday, but Chloe was still a little upset that we were gone on her birthday. Not just gone I guess, but that we were gone to somewhere really cool without her. I told her I would try and bring her a birthday cake back from Carlos Bakery. I thought it would be cool since we both enjoy watching the 'Cake Boss'. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get the cake through the airport, but I did and it all worked out. I think she was happy with her cake and it tasted delicious. We actually stopped by Carlos Bakery twice, one night just to get desert and the other time to get Chloe's Birthday cake.

 Happy 14th Chloe!!!

New York

The first part of Landon, Tanner, and I took a trip to New York. It actually ended up being the day after we signed papers and closed on our new house. The trip was a graduation/Christmas gift that we gave to Tanner.
We were all pretty excited and maybe a little nervous. I had never flown before and now I was going to not only fly, but to fly into one of the biggest US cities. I wasn't sure if I would have an anxiety attack or not, but luckily I did okay. Landon had flown before but never traveled to the Eastern part of the country-pretty much the same with Tanner except for that he had only flown once for a few minutes as a little boy.

We had a red eye flight from Vegas and it went off without a hitch, the only downfall is I don't think any of us got much sleep on the plane and when we got to NY we immediately started our first day of adventures.
We spent 5 days in New York. While there we covered a lot of ground and were able to see a lot of cool things. We walked a lot. I think we walked from one end of the city to the other more than once. We took Uber sometimes but mostly just to our rental house each night and then into town in the mornings. We tried a taxi one time, and we actually learned how to ride the subway and got pretty good at riding it and getting where we wanted to go (it was a learning curve for sure), but mostly we walked a lot.

Here are some of the highlights from our trip.
The Empire State Building
I'm glad we decided to stop by. The view from up top was pretty cool, you could pretty much see the whole city and we were able to spot some of the places we had already been and other places that we wanted to visit.

Brooklyn Bridge
We didn't walk all the way across, but about half way. It was definitely worth a stop. It wasn't on our initial plan to visit, but we had extra time one day so we decided to stop by.

Yankee Stadium
Even though Landon is a Red Sox fan through and through we thought this tour would be fun, and it was. We heard lots of Yankee History, which was very interesting. Landon didn't appreciate the digs at the Red Sox the tour guide made, but other than that very cool. We were able to go right out onto the field, in the dug out, and to the museum inside.

Times Square
Good people watching for sure at Time Square. It was always super busy day or not and always a lot going on. We were in times square daily for one reason or another or sometimes just to see what was going on.

Wall Street and Downtown
Tanner wanted to see wall street (the picture with the bull in it). We also stopped by the 9/11 memorial and saw several other famous streets and buildings. Our first day in New York we took a tour bus all around town and were able to get off a different places and kind of see where we wanted to go back to the following days.

Central Park
One of our favorite stops was central park. It is huge and we had originally planned to take a horse and carriage through the park but ended up hiring a guy with a bike and cart instead. It was well worth it. He took us around to many of the famous sites and told us about them. There are hundreds of movies that have been filmed in central park and it was cool to see some of the spots for our favorites like Elf and Home Alone. Our guide also pointed out lots of homes of some of the rich and famous around the park. Very Cool for sure.

Metropolitan Art Museum
The met is huge. We saw a lot, but I don't think we saw we even half of what was inside. There was some pretty interesting stuff. This was one of the places on Tanner's list of stops. After going here we had some lunch at a street vendor.

Statue of Liberty
We weren't originally planning to go out to the statue of liberty and I guess we didn't go out to it, but we decided to ride the Staten Island Ferry, which is free, and at least go out by it-the ferry takes you pretty close and you can get a pretty good view. It was worth it, and something Landon really wanted to do so I'm glad we did it.

Ripley's Believe it or Not
Since we are pretty big fans of The Greatest Showman we figured why not stop in at Ripley's Believe it or Not-because it kind of had some stuff about Barnum and Bailey. It was interesting, but probably not our favorite place we visited while there.

We had so much fun in New York. I'm glad we got to take this trip with Tanner and I hope that maybe one day we can visit again.
Now I guess we had better start saving up for Chloe's trip ;)
