Therapy Update

Bryce has been continuing on with his eating therapy. A month ago, he was still at the making improvement stage-very slowly. The last few weeks though he has been making much better progress. He still will only touch most wet things or sauces with one finger (the goal being his whole hand), but he touches them. He has stopped gagging on most things although he still does sometimes if the food is "wet". However, as long as it's not beans or sauces he is willing to not only try most things now, but to actually chew them-he can spit them out if he wants to. That is huge progress.

We try and do fun things at home. I found these cool Jello sets at Target and Bryce has enjoyed making and playing with the jello-he did taste it, but does not like it.
We also will try new ice cream flavors and he even tried a drink the other day-it was called Shark Week-it was made with sprite and blue raspberry flavor with whipped cream and gummy sharks. He said it was spicy since he has never had carbonation before, but he said he liked it even though he only drank a few sips before he was done.

Sometimes when we eat out. We end up having him build things with the food he's not eating.
Sometimes Chloe will go to therapy with us and that has actually been really helpful, because she is not afraid to get messy or get down and play with him-sometimes they both end up with their faces painted with pudding or something.

We are trying to be consistent with him and have more regulated meal times instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It's helping. The therapy is helping. His therapist said he could finally see and end in sight. YAY! Let's hope the progress continues. Only a few more weeks until I have to start packing him lunches for school.
