Chloe's Thumb

When Saydee and Gavin were down Chloe got a cut under her thumb. Then somewhere along her adventures probably at gym or swim she picked up staff infection in the cut. Her finger started swelling up and just looked horrible. Landon and I tried to doctor it and get out the infection on our own but finally on Friday morning (July 19) I decided it couldn't wait any longer and took her to the doctor. He said it was really infected, he had to numb it, and then lance out the infection, and cut off a bunch of skin that was dead and ruined. Chloe was so brave she didn't cry once even while getting the shots to numb it.
Little brother helped to cheer her up....
After the ordeal I took her and brother to See Monster University as a special treat.
Brother Chillin with Sully after the movie.
The doctor also put Chloe on a really strong antibiotic. It made her really sick to her stomach and also made her mouth break out in cancers. Also Friday night she woke up with a really high fever from the infection and fought that for about 24 hours. By Monday she was doing better, but when I took her in they discovered the antibiotic they had put her on was ineffective against staff infection so they switched antibiotics. The doctor checked it again today and said the infection is doing better, but if it doesn't start to heal a little bit better by Tuesday he is going to have to put some liquid nitrate on it to get the wound to close up, which won't be fun. We'll cross our fingers and say our prayers that she is doing better by then.
This whole week she has been out of swim and gym. She has been dying to get in the pool. The doctor gave her the go ahead to go to swim team tonight, so she is there as I am typing probably swimming her little heart out.

Poor Chloe! Laney got a staph infection in her big toe a couple of months ago from a rusty nail. Luckily the antibiotics took care of it. I hope the antibiotics help with Chloe's.

What a tough girl! That sounds just awful. It is the worst to watch your child be sick or in pain. I hope everything heals up quickly and that she feels lots better soon!
