Anemia Scare

While we were at the ski resort we got a text letting us know that my Grandma was being hospitalized. She had really been struggling for the last little bit and seemed to be getting worse not better. She had a hard time walking anywhere without getting winded. She had no energy, no appetite, and was always cold. She had gone in the day before for some testing and blood work to try to get to the bottom of the problem and when they called the news wasn't good. They told her to get to the hospital now. She was severally anemic. Badly so. Normal levels for her age are between 12 and 14 she was at 4. They determined she was bleeding from somewhere slowly for it to be this bad. First on the list was a blood transfusion then more testing. They determined the cause of the loss of blood was severe ulcers in her stomach. She was released and sent home after a few days and is already starting to do better though they say the road to full recovery will take at least 3 months. We stayed at her house as planned Saturday night even though she was in the hospital. I went and saw her that night with my Mom and all of us went in for a visit Sunday before we headed home. Landon was able to help give her a blessing, and Bryce and her got in a few games of Guess Who (she had given it to him for his birthday and they hadn't played it yet). We are so glad they figured out what was wrong with her and can't wait to have her back to her usual self again.
