Christmas Eve- New and Old Traditions

We kept most of our Christmas Eve traditions, but changed a few things.
To start with the kids always get a gift on Christmas Eve. Usually it is PJ's and an ornament. We started last year giving the ornament when we decorated the tree instead of on Christmas Eve so they could enjoy it all season. I forgot to get pictures of this but they each got one from the Zoo when we went in the Spring and then Bryce got Pokemon, Chloe got a personalized softball one, and Tanner got one of the Empire State Building from our trip to New York.
Now about the pajamas-Chloe and Tanner don't really wear traditional pajamas-so if I buy them pj's on Christmas they would wear them once and then not ever again so it was kind of a waste of money. So I decided to get them something they do use and love-blankets. My kids all love blankets. They drag them around and snuggle up in them all the time. So Chloe and Tanner both got really nice soft Minky Blankets. Bryce got a super soft Pokemon blanket and pajamas. He actually love pajamas and will wear them all day if he can. He got the cutest one piece Christmas Tree pajamas!

The other thing we usually do is go see a movie. This year we went to see THE GRINCH. It was actually super cute and a great way to get us in the spirit and ready for Santa to come that night.

Afterwards, per tradition, we drove around and looked at a few Christmas lights and then headed home for bedtime and to await the arrival of Santa Claus.

The kids usually have a sleepover on Christmas Eve-Chloe and Bryce did and it wasn't long before they were both fast asleep.

The stockings were hung...

While visions of sugarplums danced through there heads...
