School's Out for Summer

I can't believe another school year has come and gone. Chloe finished 6th grade and will be moving onto 7th. Tanner finished 10th and will be moving onto 11th.

Chloe has had a pretty good year in 6th grade. She did really well in every subject except for math, she made some great friends, served on student council, attended her first school dance, and had some great teachers. I'm sure she made lots of memories. We had thought about moving her to a different school for 7th grade, because the academic rigor of GWA is getting a little bit hard with her athletic schedule, however things didn't work out as planned so for now our plan is for her to stay at GWA for 7th grade. I was working on the last day of school, so I wasn't able to get any last day pictures, but luckily one of Chloe's friends/classmates snapped this one and shared it.

I'll be honest Tanner had a rough year. His grades and many of his choices were not the greatest. He got in some trouble and barely ended up passing one of his classes the last semester. Even though it was a rough year it wasn't all bad and there were some good things. Some highlights were that he learned to cook, he passed drivers ed, and he played on the baseball team. I guess in being fair I should say that some of Tanner's highlights for himself were probably the fact that he got a girlfriend this year and also was able to wear a man-bun or rather a man-ponytail (it's the in hairstyle right now-I guess it's better that a mullet;). We saw great things out of him when he would apply himself. It's helping him find the motivation to do so that we need to work on. Hopefully we can put this year behind us and move forward with a better year in 11th grade.

Now that schools out it will be nice to have a few months to somewhat relax. We have several camping trips planned, and I'm sure we will spend lots of time at the pool. Yeah for Summer!!!
