The end of last year Tanner completed his Eagle Scout Project. He got the official letters and seal of approvals, but we had one last thing to do before it was complete and that was to hold a court of honor so he could be presented his award. We decided to wait until January because then we could hold Bryce's Birthday party and the Court of Honor on the same day-to make it easier on family that might want to attend both. Tanner just kind of wanted to keep things low key, so we mostly invited family and a few close friends and ward members.
Tanner receiving his award.
Not many kids could say that four of their Grandmas came to something. Tanner must be pretty loved.
Of course Bryce and Preslie had to have a picture with Tan
For refreshments we had an awesome fruit and cheese tray (shaped like an American Flag).
As well as a s'more bar. We used Sterno cookers to cook the marshmallows with. I think it was a big hit, We worried if we would get in trouble for having fire in the church, but the bishops wife gave her seal of approval and enjoyed two s'mores herself.
Bryce was so worn out after all the happenings from that day that he slept through most of the ceremony.
It was a great event. We are proud of Tanner for getting his Eagle Scout Award. We are relieved that he go it when he did, because if he would have waited any longer we are pretty sure he wouldn't have gotten it at all. He has kind of hit a stage where he's not to excited about scout stuff anymore. I think most boys hit that stage. Or I guess its most teenagers they just get to the stage when they are more worried about doing something with their friends than church or family stuff.
