One of our favorite days of the year is Pie Day. It is a fun tradition we have where we go to Grandma's house and spend all day making pies. We mostly focus on our famous "squash pies" similar to pumpkin but made with squash instead of pumpkin. They are delicious and everyone loves them. We make enough for the family and then usually a few extras to give away to neighbors and friends.
Chloe is becoming pretty good a rolling out the pie shells and crimping the edges.
We love our Grandma so much and are grateful for the time we spend with her and the things she teaches us. This year I think we made 18 pies-Holy that's a lot of pie! It was yummy too.
It was kind of hard to get through pie day this year without shedding a few tears, because while we baked we also packed, and we knew that this would be our last time having pie day at Grandmas house, at least this house. :(
