Fall Softball Acceleration League

This year we did something new in the sports area of our lives. Landon took the competitive softball team that he started over the summer and they played in a fall acceleration league. It was fun, but just a little bit cold. Thank heavens we had heaters for most of the games. We also stopped for hot chocolate a lot after games to help us warm up.
In this picture Bryce asked me for a slushie-despite the freezing cold and the fact we were huddled around a heater. HA!
The team won all but two of their games, and all of the girls and the team as a whole improved over the season. Chloe mostly caught during this season, but she did pitch a little and in one game played a little third and center field. She is doing great things as a catcher. She has learned to hustle if the ball gets past her and slide to get to it faster. She got several throw outs and even more close ones.
She has definitely improved in the pitching area too, even though her pitching coach has been out the whole season since she just had a baby. Chloe is getting faster and more accurate and is even working on a change up. She pitched the last game of the season and had several strike outs-two of them the last strike was a change up. With the help of her team mates they were able to hold the other team to two runs that game. She hasn't been quite as good hitting lately as she can be, but her swing is looking good, she just needs to get her timing down. It has been a fun season. The last two games were a double header, so between games I ran and got donuts and hot cocoa for all the girls-they thought that was fun.
