Baseball Update April 27-May 1 Dixie vs Canyon View

Last week Tanner had his last two ball games of the season. They were both against Canyon View (a team from Cedar City). On Tuesday the team traveled to Canyon View. Tanner only played for about the last inning and his team lost by 10 run rule. Friday they played Canyon View @ Dixie. (a little side note this would be the last Dixie Game played on Flyer Field as a new field has been built and will start being used this summer). Unfortunately Dixie lost again, but at least they didn't get run ruled. Tanner had an awesome game-he started out in right field. After playing there for two innings he was moved to second. Then a short while later the catcher was hurt so they had Tanner switch to catcher. He really is a utility player-meaning he can step in and play any position and do a good job at it. No other player has played three different positions in one game the entire year-let alone played three different positions overall throughout the year, though a few of them have played two. It goes to show that even though Tanner hasn't gotten to play every single game and although he has sat out for several innings in many games that his coaches know he is a good player and that they can count on him when they need him to step in and play a position.

a little catching action...
