Crazy Hair Day

It was spirit week this week at Chloe's school. Landon had seen this idea online somewhere and helped her pull it off.

Today Bryce swallowed a screw

You always hear those crazy stories about someone's kid swallowing something weird like a magnet, or penny, or something like that. Well today Bryce is one of those such stories. Landon was tending Bryce and they had been doing some projects around the house. Fixing things up and the likes. They took a little trip to the mailbox and on the way Landon noticed Bryce had a few of the little screws he had been using and was throwing them up in the air and playing with them. Landon decided he had better get them, so they didn't end up lost. He asked Bryce to give them to him. Bryce decided to be funny and thought he would throw them in his mouth so Landon couldn't get them. Well much to his surprise and Landon's, one of the screws went right down his throat. GULP! We called the doctor and he said he thought he would be okay, and that hopefully it would pass it 4-7 days. He also told us symptoms to look for that would be reason to worry. Crazy kid! I don't think he will do that again. That is definitely a first for us, none of our other kids ever swallowed anything weird like that.
No whenever he goes to the bathroom he says the screw didn't come out yet-HAHA!

Primary Program Debut

Last Sunday Bryce had his Primary Program Debut. The primary program is a day at church during sacrament meeting where the primary age kids (3-11) each say a part, and the whole group sings lots of songs, for the congregation. I was unsure if he would not only go up there, but also if he would talk in the microphone once it was his turn. To my surprise he did both, willingly and also seemed excited about it. Landon and the older kids were out of town deer hunting so they didn't get to see it. Grandma Marshall came to watch. It was such a great moment. When it was Bryce's turn he was so short that we couldn't even see his head, but we heard what he said really well. "My name is Bryce and I love Noah". It was so cute and I was so proud of him.

We are asked to not video or take photographs during sacrament meeting, so I took this cute video of him just before going into church saying his part for me.
To celebrate afterward I let him choose a treat for us to make together. He chose sugar cookies. After making them he wanted to deliver them to people, so we made plates of them and took them around to a few family and friends. It was a fun day for me and the little guy.

Deer Hunt

After our little trip to Salt Lake, Chloe and I met the boys in Fillmore. It was time for the deer hunt. Landon and the two older kids were planning to go with Landon's brother Layne and some other family and friends-per their yearly tradition. Tanner and Landon both had deer tags. Chloe put in but didn't draw out, so she will probably get one next year.
While they were getting everything ready to go Bryce had lots of fun riding the donkey and horses. I thought he would cry when they finally left, because he would want to ride out with them, but I think he missed me a little bit the two previous days, so he was happy to stay with me.

Goodbye hug for Daddy

Even though they didn't end up getting anything. I think for the most part they had fun. Tanner whined and complained about going home a lot especially right at first, but towards the end he settled in and had fun. Chloe would have stayed a whole week if Landon would have let her. Tanner and Landon both got a couple of shots at a deer, but neither one hit one. One of the people in camp, did get a small one, so they cut it up and ate it and made jerky at camp. The kids both loved it-I was pretty surprised cause I didn't think Tanner would like it at all. All in all I think it was a good experience for them and will be a good memory of something they did together.

While the other were off hunting Bryce and I spent a few days in Flowell. We visited with my sister Mandy and Bryce played a little bit with Hanxton, but mostly we just hung out at Grandpa and Grandma Ellison's house. Bryce was the only grandkid around, a rare occurrence, so he loved having free reign of all the toys and space. He had some good one on one time with Grandma and just thoroughly enjoyed himself. He is already looking forward to going back for Thanksgiving although I think that will be quite a shock to his system because the whole family and all the cousins will be there.

USA Women's Soccer Game

Last week the USA women's soccer team came to Salt Lake. Chloe begged for tickets to their game as part of her Christmas. We bought them for her. She was so excited counting down the days to the game. I got a few days off work and her and I headed to Salt Lake. The game was held at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. The stadium was super nice, and the atmosphere and excitement in the stands was lot of fun. Chloe had a blast! We both did. The USA team won, which made it even better. The only downside was that a few of her favorite players didn't play during the game. We bought her some fun soccer gear as memorabilia. I think we will definitely be going to more pro soccer games if the opportunity arises.

After the game we went and spent the night at my Aunt Joyce and Uncle Paul's house. The next day we did some shopping and then headed back to Flowell. The boys would be meeting us there the next day, so Landon and the two older kids could go deer hunting.

It was a fun little road trip for Chloe and I.

Bryce's Prayer

I love listening to Bryce's prayers. I'm pretty sure the whole family does. He never asks for anything in them. He only lists the things he is thankful for. He is always thankful for some interesting things. I guess we can all learn a lesson to look around us at all we should be thankful for each day after listening to him. :)

Here is his prayer from last night...

Thank you for zebra's, giraffes, and monkeys. Thank you for the cereal in the morning and for bed. Thank you for bounce houses and playgrounds. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Sleepy Hallow

We went to 'Sleepy Hallow' at the Western Legacy Ranch and Farms in Hurricane, Utah with some of our friends. We had never been before, in fact I had never heard of it until this year, but I guess this is it's 5th year in operation.
I would say it is probably geared more towards younger kids, but I think Chloe still had fun. There is a corn maze, hayride, zip line, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, a movie, a fire pit with smore's kits for sale, pumpkin catapult, and lots of fun activities and games. Part of the stuff is included with your admission cost and other things you have to buy tickets for. There is also food you can buy.
Bryce loved everything about it, except for the headless horseman-he did not want to go near him at all. He didn't want to go home when it was time. Go figure. One of his favorite things was the fire pit-of course the one thing we have at home-HA.
I didn't get any picture of Chloe on the zipline or bucking saddle.

Fall Yard Sale

We had our annual Fall Yard Sale. As usual it was very successful, but also a lot of work. The girls helped a lot setting stuff up and pricing. They also wanted to be in charge of the money, we let them, but I think next time we will rethink it. I think there were just to many cooks in the kitchen and they had a hard time keeping accurate track of whose money was coming in, but I think we got it all worked out in the end. ;)
Bryce was so cute. He kept wanting to shop at the yard sale and would come and ask me if he could buy something. HAHA Luckily other people had brought stuff too, so he did get some new items, but I think he "bought" a few of his own items back as well.
Until the Spring...ps I have already started collecting items for it.

At Miss Gaye's

I am lucky that I was able to get Bryce into Mrs. Gay for his babysitter. She really is one of the best daycare providers around, and probably one of the only ones I would have even considered leaving Bryce with.
Bryce has finally adjusted to going to her, except for the eating lunch part, we are still working on that-he is just super picky so he doesn't eat much of what is made for him, but he is making baby steps.
Mrs. Gay really goes above and beyond planning out fun activities for the kids each day. She gets them outside and many time her helpers and her will bike or walk with the kids to nearby parks or other things.
A really cool new park opened in St. George-Thunder Junction All Abilities Park- and she took the kids over and spent the day. Bryce loved it! Luckily she also has a "private" facebook page, so I am able to get fun pictures of their outings and adventures.
