Thanksgiving and Black Friday

This year for Thanksgiving we stayed in town as we were having dinner at my Grandma Marshall's house. We sometimes leave the day after to go to Fillmore but this year we opted just to stay home the whole weekend, it was really nice and relaxing.
Thursday morning first thing, per tradition, I went out and bought a paper, so that later on at my Grandma's house we could all sit around and scour the ads.
Little Bryce couldn't handle all of the excitement and he took a pre-dinner nap. What a cute little turkey!
The kids were so excited because we opted to do their cousin gift exchange that day. Chloe got a new outfit for her American Girl Doll; Tanner got a $10 Arby's gift card; and Bryce got a cute little frog toy-that he absolutely loves!!!
Everybody hanging out waiting for dinner-Landon was in charge of carving the turkey. Also this time in between was when we spend time looking at the ads and making our lists. Black Friday has become a tradition for us-and it is usually lots of fun, and an all night event.
Some pictures of the tables settings and place cards we made...
My Mom put together this awesome turkey veggie tray...
Yum look at that delicious spread of food...

We had a great time and yummy dinner. It is always fun to get all of us together.
After dinner we went home and got a little rest in for about an hour. Then it was off to shopping. The Stores opened at 6 pm our first stop being Wal-Mart-we took all the kids with us here-lol. It was crazy busy by Landon, Chloe, and Bryce were checked out and to the car by about 6:10 with our first two things, but then I had several other smaller things I grabbed and so we ended up waiting in line for about another hour to purchase those. It was pretty successful though because there were only two things on our list we didn't end up getting.
Next stop to drop the kids off at home, except for Bryce, and continue shopping. We headed to Dicks Sporting Goods and Old Navy. We got some great deals at these two stores, but we probably waited in line for about 2 hours. Waiting in line is the only part that really sucks about Black Friday Shopping!!!  We were home by just before midnight with round 1 of our shopping done.
The next morning I woke up around 6 and Chloe was up to-so I decided we would hit a few more stores on my list. First stop Rite-Aid. Then the lifetime store-to grab a couple of wiggle cars. It actually opened at 8 am so we waited in line for about 30 minutes. We were about the 5th people in a line of about 30 people. It was cold, cold, cold. I was glad Chloe had her blanket with her. After we checked out there they gave us donuts and juice-Chloe thought that was pretty fun. Then we ran over to Joanne's to grab a few things-luckily I didn't need any fabric cut so we were in and out really quickly. We were back home before 9. And chalked up another successful shopping trip and luckily was able to mark off most of the items on our Christmas Shopping List.
The rest of the weekend we spent just hanging out, working on projects, and we went out to dinner one night to Paula's. Oh yeah and Chloe had her first sleepover at our house with her BFF Brydee. It was a nice relaxing and fun weekend. It has been so nice these past few weeks to not have any other obligations on our weekends. I will definitely enjoy them while I can :)
