Pokemon Go

Bryce has been really into Pokemon lately. Tanner introduced him to a game called Pokemon Go. You actually have to walk around different places with your ipad or phone and try to catch Pokemon. Bryce loves it. The only downfall is that the first little bit he was so excited about it that he would wake me up super early to go on a walk. I guess at least we are spending time together and he is being active right?!

Chicken Coop

Last year Chloe helped build this chicken coop at school. I think she actually did a majority of the work. This was her favorite class and her teacher loved her. I forgot to get a picture of her by it before school was out, so when we went to Bryce's back to school night to meet his teacher we took the opportunity to go and snap one.

Chloe's latest career choice is to be a builder. I think that would actually be a great fit for her.

Demolition Derby Washington County Fair

The county fair comes town every year. Our attendance is sporadic. We have gone different times for different events or things. We however don't attend every year. We weren't really planning on going at all this year, but Chloe heard advertisement about the Demolition Derby and decided it would be fun to go. So we ended up going. The weather was questionable when we got there, but before we were very far into it, it started to pour. Bryce and I quickly took refuge in a nearby building. We walked around and looked at the entries for different things, which Bryce thought was cool since the theme for the fair was 'Pirates'. After wandering around the building for awhile we ran to the car and sat in there for a little bit. The rain finally stopped and we headed back out. We found some cotton candy before meeting back up with Landon and Chloe. They had stuck out most of the rain, but at one point they too and taken shelter elsewhere when it was really bad. The demolition derby was okay. The people watching was probably better-if you ever want to see a bunch of rednecks just go to a demo derby. Bryce didn't love it and was pretty happy when it was time to go home. At least we spent some time together though.

Cotton Candy

Burnt

I don't love cooking. In fact it's not something I look forward to at all, which sucks because I love food and wish I was a better cook. I think I'm just not patient enough and don't want to spend the amount of time it requires most of the time to make something. Also I have one kid with an eating problem and two others who aren't home regularly at meal time and that makes it even more difficult. So our meals are usually pretty simple. However, there are times I do cook, and certain things I am pretty good at making.
One of them is lasagna. I have to admit it's yummy and everyone but Bryce will eat it. It takes time though to cook the meat, shred the cheese, make the sauce, and the put it all together and bake it. Well I did just that a few weeks ago-its actually been a long time since I have made homemade Lasagna (we have kind of started eating the pre-made frozen kind---easier and pretty affordable), but anyways I made homemade. And guess what it turned out. I got it out of the oven-it looked great. I set it on the stove to cool. Then I was in the front-room and I heard a couple of pops. I didn't think anything of it until it happened again. I went in the kitchen to investigate. The pan was shattered. The bottom of the lasagna was burnt. Apparently I hadn't turned off the stove after cooking the hamburger so when I set the lasagna on the stove to cool it was actually still cooking and also broke the glass pan. UGH!!!

Okay what is the number to Domino's again???

Vegas

I went to Vegas for a few days with my Mom and Sister Mandy. It was work related so we mostly just worked. We were at ASD Market week, which is a big conference of vendors for business's. We had fun, but were pretty tired so we didn't do a whole lot of playing on the side. We did eat some yummy food and desert though, and did a little shopping so I was able to get Tanner's birthday present and use a build a bear voucher I had and grab something for Bryce. We stayed at the Trump Hotel, which was super nice. It was nice being able to spend a little time with my Mom and Sister.

July Goal Review

July Goal Review

Red Means Not Doing Well
Blue Needs Improvement
Green Accomplished or on Target to Reach Goal

Spiritual
-Read Scriptures 5 Days A Week
-Read Lesson Material for Relief Society each week
-Attend 2nd Hour (family history or Sunday School more regularly)
-No Social Media on Sunday morning Before Church
-More Personal Prayers
-Don't work on Sunday (I do some work from home for my Mom and I want to limit this to Monday-Saturday and not work on Sundays)
It's really hard for me to want to stay 2nd hour of church, especially when I have a hard time sitting for that long and the teacher isn't really grabbing my attention and my couch and a nap are just across the street. This is going to be a struggle for sure, but at least I always go back for Relief Society

Health and Fitness
-Run, Walk, Bike, or Swim 1 mile once a week
I missed a week this month again where I didn't do a mile.
-Only drink Coke once a week except for my period/headache week
This one has been hard for me this month.
-Make a conscious effort to drink more water
I need to refocus and put more thought into this.

Financial
-Do better at staying on budget and not spending my weekly petty cash before I have it
um what can I say-new house + kids home during summer make it hard
-Save any dimes we get for the year (we read something about it and want to test it out)

Educational
-Read at least 3 books per month (I want to focus on reading more and being on social media less)

Personal
-Continue Blogging
Still not caught up...but I'm working on it.

-Do Better at Keeping the House Clean--FOCUS on LAUNDRY
Focus on the Dishes!!!

July Book Recap

What I read in July...

What I liked this month...
Three Weeks with my Brother
Matilda (I reread it since Chloe and I went to see it at Tuachan)
The Magnolia Story

I didn't really like anything else that much. I didn't hate them. I just didn't like them either and ending, no ending, or how the story was written something about all the others just didn't get more than 3 out of 5 stars for me.

By looking at the books I am really liking lately it seems that what I tend to really like are true stories and also Newbery Award books.

24th of July- Parade, Lake and Fireworks

On the 24th our ward put on a small kids parade and breakfast. We decided to go for a few minutes even though we were planning to go out to the lake with my sister and her family. Bryce didn't want to ride his bike in the parade. He opted to ride his scooter, which didn't really work out well because he couldn't keep up with the other kids, partly because he was being kind of nervous and shy about the whole thing. We ended up ditching his scooter when we passed our house and just walking the rest of the way. After the parade we grabbed some breakfast and the left so we could get to the lake.

My sister and her husband have had a boat for awhile, but it hasn't run. They put some money into it and got it going this year and were eager to test it out. We were excited to spend a day on the water, except for Chloe who was in Arizona with Grandma and Saydee she was a little bit sad to be missing out. We also rented a jet ski for the day. We all had fun. The only incident was when Tanner tried to pull me on the tube behind the jet ski and wasn't very nice about it. I ended up hurt and in tears and on top of that lost my brand new Oakley sunglasses that I had just bought in New York-yeah we will try to forget that incident. But other than that we had fun. Tanner enjoyed the jet ski. Bryce liked the tube and was happy riding that or in the boat, but he did not want to get in the lake water and swim at all (he doesn't like that dirty water). It was good to see my sister so happy and smiling as she struggles with some pretty serious depression most of the time. Hopefully we will get to spend many more days on the lake now that they have a working boat.

After boating we went out to dinner and then we took Bryce and let him choose out a few fireworks at a firework stand. He had fun with Tanner lighting them off in the backyard.

Afterwards we went in and then I looked out the back window and saw a fire. I had forgotten to put water in the bucket they were putting the sparklers and stuff in and it had caught fire and burned the whole thing down. I had to grab the hose and put it out. Good thing I noticed it when I did. Bryce was very amused by the whole incident.

I'm glad we were able to spend the day together. It was lots of fun. We definitely missed Chloe though.

Twins

These two :) I walked in to find them asleep like this in the exact same position. Ha! So funny and cute I couldn't help but snap a picture. They really are twins. The other two for sure have a lot more of my looks. People comment frequently on how much Chloe and I look alike. Bryce for sure you can see a lot of Landon in him, but he is also a pretty good mix of the other two kids as well.
Love these two boys!

Blue and Tango

BLUE AND TANGO

Unfortunately in the move to our new house we lost our cat, Cotton, who we had for the past 12 years or so. We told the kids that once we got settled they could get a new kitten. We ended up with 2. Blue and Tango (their names come from the new Jurassic World movie which we had recently seen-Blue and Tango are two of the Raptors). First we got Blue-we adopted him from a lady who had pampered and taken care of him. He was and continues to be a very calm cat he puts up with anything from Bryce or other little cousins. Bryce oesn't really like to share him much, so Chloe decided she needed her own kitten and we ended up with Tango. Tango is a little more on the wild side-you could tell he had not been handled as much as Blue. In fact I thought I was going to take him back after the first day, but I gave him another chance. He has settled in, but he is still a lot different than Blue. He still runs from you most of the time when you try to pick him up, he will even occasionally hiss at you if you startle him. He has settled down a lot from when we first got him, but he is for sure a much different cat than Blue. It took awhile for the kittens and Becket to adjust to living together, but now they all get along without a problem. Bryce does a really good job of feeding the cats every day. It's funny Chloe is the one who really wanted the kittens, but Bryce is the one who has become their owner. He is a cat person for sure.
Bryce and Blue the perfect photo op

Tango

I can't say I have ever been a huge cat person, and I don't like them in the house, but I tolerate them because Bryce loves them so much. They started out mostly in the house, but they live outside mostly these days, although Bryce will bring them in any chance he gets.
