Christmas Vacation-Bearizona and The Polar Express

For Christmas this year my Mom and Jeff decided to do things a little bit differently and buy all of their kids and grandkids a trip for Christmas instead of presents. It was the best idea ever and so much fun. They rented a cabin in Williams, Arizona, which is just outside of Flagstaff. Along with the cabin the took everyone to Bearizona and also on The Polar Express. Everyone had a great time.

The Cabin.
The cabin was huge and there was a room for every family. The kids had so much fun running around and playing with their cousins. It was a little bit to cold to do much playing outside, but there was tons of room inside for them all, plus we didn't spend a whole lot of time there mainly just time for meals and between adventures.

Bearizona
On Saturday morning we all bundled up and headed to Bearizona. Bearizona is a cool drive through type zoo featuring bears and wolves. During part of the drive you can have your windows down and even touch some of the animals, but in the bear and wolf enclosures your windows must remain up and your vehicle is supposed to keep moving. You can drive through as many times as you want. Then there is another part where you can stop and get out if you want and see other animal. In the walk in section there more bears, buffalo, bobcats, otters, and lots of other smaller wildlife animals. Of course there was a gift shop as well so the kids each got a souvenir and I got my trademark magnet. It was lots of fun and something we would most likely do again if the chance arouse.

The Polar Express
After having lunch on Saturday we all got in our pajamas and headed over to the Polar Express. The Polar Express is a fun train ride which is acted out just like the book and movie. Most people wear their pajamas just like in the story. It was fun seeing some of the pajamas people had on. My Grandma and Mom had made us all fun Christmas beanies to wear with our pajamas. The conductor came and called all aboard and it was time to load. They served hot chocolate and cookies and told the story of the Polar Express as we made our way to the north pole. At the north pole Santa boarded the train and we sang Christmas carols while waiting for him to visit our car. He visited each child and gave them a special Christmas bell from one of his reindeer. It was so much fun and such a special thing especially for the little kids.

This was definitely one of the best Christmas presents we have ever received. I can't wait to see what fun adventure next year brings. Thanks so much Mom and Jeff.
