Arizona Vacation: Zoo Day (Day 2)

Day 2 (Friday) of our Trip to Arizona was our ZOO DAY. We had originally planned to go to the Phoenix Zoo, but after a couple of different people told us the Wildlife World Zoo was better and you were able to get closer to the animals we decided to go there instead. Bryce was so excited he talked about going to the Zoo for weeks before we actually go there and now that he has been he talks about his visit.

Ready to go see some animals...
Bryce getting his first glimpse of the animals when we went through the gates...
Giant Tortoises...
Pretty White Peacock and two Pretty Girls
Cute Little Monkeys...
At the Sea Lion Show...Chloe was a little disappointed that they did have dolphins-LOL.
I just love all the pictures I got of these two...the really are best buds. One time you can still get a real smile on this teenagers face is when he is with his little bro.
This Zoo had a couple of rare Albino alligators. The kids all thought they were awesome! When we first saw them my nephew Braxton asked are those real?-haha you can see from his face he is a little leery of them.
 Off to see more animals...
Bryce and this bird have the exact same look on their faces:)

Now for the Highlights of the Zoo...
Log Flume Ride-Grandma went on this with the four older grand-kids-Bryce and Breckon were a little sad they weren't big enough to ride.
Train Ride-I mean you can't go to a zoo without doing the train ride can you?
The Petting Zoo-Bryce especially loved the petting zoo minus the turtles he wanted nothing to do with them.

Feeding the Giraffes-this was probably one of the funnest for everyone. The kids all got to feed and pet the giraffes. Most of them liked it the younger ones did not like their long tongues-Bryce just threw his food at the giraffes head cause he didn't want to get anywhere near that tongue. There were a couple of cute baby giraffes as well that were fun to see. How often do you get to see a 9 foot baby?

We ended up spending a good share of the day at the zoo. Bryce finally fell asleep and we decided to call it good even though we hadn't been to the Savanna to see the lions, hippos, etc.
We really liked this zoo...the exhibits were great and you could get pretty close to the animals. The down side was that a few animals were missing such as elephants and bears. Also the rides were pretty steeply priced and you couldn't purchase them in a package deal like at other zoos. All in all though it was good and we were glad we chose to go there.

After the Zoo we were all tired so we went out to eat at the local steak house and then just hung out for the rest of the evening.
