A few months ago Chloe said all she wanted to do for her Birthday was go camping and fishing. So I made reservations then at Otter Creek. I was able to get a campsite right on the beach since I reserved so far in advance. Chloe was so excited, she kept asking when it was time to leave to go camping. We left Friday afternoon and kind of took our time getting there. We took the scenic route up over Cedar Mountain and stopped and got milkshakes along the way. Bryce did not enjoy the ride at all and was so happy once we go to our destination. My Grandma, Mom, and two cousins (Tyler and Sam) came that evening as well. My Mom stayed with us and Grandma and the boys stayed at a motel in a close little town. Once we got the tent up Chloe couldn't wait to fish. She wanted to catch the first fish, and guess what she did...
We had a fun night and actually all slept pretty well in the tent...
The next morning we got up early to fish. Only the women were having any luck. Chloe caught 2 more, and I caught one, and my Mom caught a really nice big one.
A little later my sister Mandy and her kids showed up, as well as Landon's parents and a couple of cousins. The kids tested the water a little bit and did a little bit of swimming...
Then we had lunch and a little birthday party...
We played a few "fishy games". Guess how many Swedish fish were in the jar and "Go Fish"...
We also had a fish pond...One of the prizes for the older boys was water balloons which may have mistake as we all were subject to being hit with one the rest of the day.
We also played the "bait game" kind of like the doughnut game where they eat the doughnut off a string without using their hands, but we used gummy worms instead of donuts. It was funny. The older boys just ripped the whole worm off the stick string and all.
It was a fun little party. Complete with fishing cupcakes for dessert.
Thanks to everyone who came Chloe said it was her favorite birthday so far :)
