Quiet Pills

Today after church Chloe showed us some candy her teacher had given her. Then she said Brother West is funny because he called these smarties quiet pills., and there not quiet pills there not really pills there candy. HaHa Little did she know he was actually more right than she realized.

Yard Sale

Yesterday we had our Semi-Annual Yard Sale. Some of my Grandmas neighbors heard we were having it and brought stuff over as well, one neighbor said that she had been setting stuff aside in her garage anticipating us having another one. She thought she would bring it to us instead of trying to do her own because we were so organized. So we ended up with a lot of stuff. The grand total raised was $433, not including the money the kids made selling muffins and cookies. We sold a lot of stuff and had steady traffic throuhout the whole time we were open 7am-12. At one point when we had a lot of people there Chloe was standing across the street yelling into her fake microphone "Yard Sale, Yard Sale"-what a kid.

Scouts and Snakes

On Wednesday we had Pack Meeting. Our group was in charge of the skit. We sang a song about what cub scouts might have hidding in their pockets one of the last mentioned in the song was a snake and guess what we brought a couple of real ones (thanks to the Davey's). The boys and audience loved them.
Also Tanner is now sporting the blue neckerchief instead of the yellow one, since he has officially moved on up to the bear den. This leaves us with one lone wolf in our den until December when we start getting some more.

Primary Program

Today was the annual Primary Program. The kids both did good with their parts.
Chloe's part "family members have important responsibilites".
Tanner's part "Family history and temple work bless all generations of my family".

When Chloe got up to say her part she said the first two words and then looked out into the audience and went blank they whispered the rest to here and she did fine. I was glad she didn't just stand up there in silent mode, because she hasn't been to excited about the whole thing. In fact she kept telling my Grandma she didn't have a part because she threw it away.

Tanner did great on his and said it without a hitch. We asked him though why he was scowling through the whole program and he said he wasn't scowling just having a serious face; smiling faces were only for the 3 and 4 year olds. What a silly kid.

What could the program be without a few funny moments one time a kid got up to say his part and they went to help him and he yelled into the microphone I KNOW! and of course there had to be a few kids up there picking there noses and dancing around. ALL in ALL I think it went really well though and all the kids did a good job. My Grandma Marshall along with Tyler and Sam came to watch which was nice.

A Very Clean Kitchen

So I have to brag on Landon a little bit here. Yesterday he decided that we were going to deep clean the kitchen. I helped a little bit by cleaning the microwave and by giving the kids a little help who were in charge of cleaning the walls, but for the most part he did it himself. Yep cleaned the whole thing top to bottom. I mean he took everything out and scrubbed down, cupboards, wallls, counters, air vents, and even the blinds. He even cleaned the oven and swept and mopped as well.

All I can say is "Thanks Landon it looks great!"

The Story of the Yellow Shoes

Okay so you definately need to hear this story, especially since there is a real possiblity in the near future you will probably see Chloe running around in these beautiful yellow shoes-and no it probably will not match whatever it is she has on.
So here goes on Tuesday she went to her friend Brydee's house. Brydee's mom (Brittany) had hit the jack pot at Wal-Mart and stumbled across an unheard of clearance on children's shoes, most pairs were down to $1. She bought Brydee about 5 different pairs. So when Chloe was over there playing she fell in love with the yellow ones. I told here that I would try to go to Wal-Mart in the morning and find her a pair. I did but with no luck. She came home from school and the first thing she said was you didn't get the shoes did you, because she couldn't see them anywhere. Then she almost started to cry. Then I got a call from Brittany she had gone back to Wal-Mart and dug through the bins and miraculously found a pair stuffed inside another pair at the very bottom of the bin. Chloe was so excited to hear this bit of news, she kept asking me all day when she was going to be getting her shoes. Finally later that night when the doorbell rang she jumped off the chair and said that's my shoes and went running for the door as fast as she could. She was right and was so excited to finally get them. She immediately put them on and wore them the rest of the night.Today when she got home from school the first thing she said was now I can put on my shoes.I don't know what it is about these shoes but both Brydee and Chloe love them. I think they will probably both have them on in church on Sunday and most likely not have dresses to match them.
Thank you Brittany you made Chloe's Day!

Dance and Gymnastics

Yesterday Chloe started her new dance/gymnastics combo class. We found a lady whose kids go to GWA who teaches in her basement. I thought this might be better for Chloe to introduce her a little bit more to dance, instead of scare her to death when it's time for a recital-like her dance class last year did.

I showed up a little early to get her and watched for a few mintues, surprisingly she was right in there doing the dance. (Last year it took her so long to warm up and even then she was very reserved about who saw her dance.) I think the smaller, less intimidating environment is working already.
Anyways after class she said "mom next week just pick me up after the gymnastics part of the class." I was like why she said "because my legs hurt the teacher kept making us do plie's and then stand up." I just laughed and said whatever Chloe you jump rope all day long I think you can handle a few plie's plus it will help your muscle get stronger. I told her Shawn Johnson and Hannah Montana both took dance, so I think that sealed the deal. I told her we'll do the class until Dec. and then if she wants she can keep doing it, or choose just dance or just gymnastics. So I guess we'll see what happens. I should add though that all night she was busting out in dance moves.

School Pictures

The kids have school pictures today. Hopefully they will turn out okay. As you can see in the picture I took Tanner is trying to scowl and smile at the same time, not really working for him. He was pretty upset with me because he always likes to wear red shirts to school-his last two years of school pictures he has been in a red shirt. This year I have been making him wear a blue shirt once a week, which he has gotten used to, but he only wears it on Wednesdays. However mean old mom made him wear the blue shirt for pictures and yep it's Monday. Once we got through the tears and the tantrum he seemed okay, by the time he left for school he was back to his old self so hopefully he'll stay happy and smile for his pictures. Chloe I'm sure will smile as big as she can she was happy about her new bows.

Camping Trip to Yankee Meadow

Over the weekend we went to Yankee Meadows Camping with Landon's Family. We borrowed my parents motor home and the kids had a blast. All in All we had 20 people there. 9 adults and 11 kids. We only ended up having a couple of hours of bad weather on Saturday afternoon, other than that it was pretty nice. The kids had fun playing from dawn until dark. We built them a hut on Friday night which was quickly commandeered by some kids from a neighboring camp so they didn't get to spend a lot of time in it. They found lots of other stuff to do though shoot home-made bows and arrows, learn to whittle, go for walks in the woods, play in the motor home and trailer, and play at the lake.

We had a great time with the family and a nice weekend, but it is still so nice to just be home now.
