Instead of having a traditional Kindergarten Graduation, George Washington Academy, has started holding something called the Fairy Tale Ball instead. All of the Kindergartners dress up as a characters out of a Fairy Tale. It took some two different costumes and some convincing before we finally settled on a dragon for Bryce. Each class recites a poem, story (fable), or sings a song, and then the teachers say a few words, and they do a big group song. It's fun, cute, and quick not small feet with 5 classes of Kindergartners. The teachers did a great job with it. Bryce's class told the story of the tortoise and the Hare. Preslie's class sang 3 blind mice.
They do still take their graduation pictures in cap and gown-they just don't wear those for the actual program anymore.
Kindergarten is over. On to first grade now. #BryceEE
