Today was the day we were scheduled to travel home. Nobody really was too excited to go. We figured we didn't need to be out of our room until 10 so that gave us time for one last swim in the ocean. This time we were able to convince Bryce to really get in the ocean and play and he ended up loving the water and having a blast (maybe there is hope for him after all). The kids and adults minus Tanner swam and swam until we dragged everyone out and too the shower. That's what we didn't plan on was the time it would take to get everyone ready and all our luggage to the car and we were actually about 30 minutes late checking out and they were waiting to clean by the time we left. OOPS!
We also had to make one more run to the pier gift shop as Bryce broke his shark toy and convinced us to go back. After that we hit up a few local tourist shops. Chloe got some decor for her room and we all ended up with a souvenir t-shirt. It was almost lunch time by then, so we grabbed some lunch and finally got on the freeway and headed for home.
There was one more stop we needed to make on our way home-and that was at the state line roller coaster at the entrance to Nevada. It is like the tallest roller coaster in the US or something like that. Chloe and Landon have been planning and trying to ride this for years, but every time we have stopped it has been closed for one reason or another. This time it was there lucky day and they were able to ride it. Unfortunately the camera on the coaster itself was broken so I didn't get any on ride footage, just a picture at the beginning. Landon tried to take a little video footage but that only lasted a few seconds because of the sheer g-force which wouldn't allow him to hold out his camera.
While they were riding that Bryce rode the frogger ride. He really wanted to ride the roller coaster but he wasn't tall enough. Thank heavens-I don't think I would have let him go on it.
We finally made it home. We had a great vacation and spent lots of quality time. I think it was one of our funnest vacations we have ever had. Lots of memories.
