Throw Up

For Basketball this season every one of Chloe's games was an away game. That meant a lot of traveling and sometimes meant we took other kids along with us. Luckily I was able to make it to all of her games.
One of her games was in Beaver. We ended up taking two other girls with us-her good friend Brydee and Isabelle. The girls talked and laughed the whole way their.
Chloe's Grandma and uncle Trevor were able to drive down from Fillmore to watch. I wish I would have gotten a picture. The game was tough. The Beaver team was huge-I mean literally some of the girls were bigger than my husband. Dixie ended up losing by quite a bit. The loss didn't dampen the girls spirits too much. After the game we stopped for some ice cream at McDonalds and then got back on the road.
The girls were back to talking and giggling and this is where things took a turn for the worst. Chloe was saying something very animatedly and started choking on something. The other girls, once they knew it wasn't serious, started laughing, and then Brydee laughed so hard that she choked on something and started throwing up. OH MY GOSH!
At that point I figured I had better just laugh with them or I was going to be seriously pissed of. I quickly pulled over on an exit in the middle of no where and we cleaned things up the best we could. Luckily she had her school clothes in her bag and was able to change into those. It is one road trip they will probably never forget! dang kids!!!

T-Ball

Bryce started T-Ball this year. He is on the Padres Cooperstown Team and he is the youngest one.
Landon took him to his first practice and they handed out jerseys and hats so of course Bryce wanted to put his on.
He is so cute!!! He's so excited to play. It should be lots of fun.

Spring is Here

Spring is here and you know what that means...
our lives just got busy.
This time every year it happens. Just with the normal baseball/softball season and games plus practices and coaching take enough time, but you add into that the fact the Chloe plays spring soccer and her basketball season also goes into spring and we are even busier. You would think that with Tanner not playing baseball this year we wouldn't be quiet as busy, but we actually seem to be even busier than normal. Plus Bryce is playing t-ball, so we have to add that into the schedule. Most weeks there is at least one practice or game every night but Sunday and a lot of days two.
Here is an example of our weekly schedule...
Of course this busy schedule means we have to make adjustments in other areas of our lives. We spend a little more on eating out, since at least two nights a week we eat on the go, and a little less on groceries. This year we even went as far as hiring a once a week house keeper to come in and help us just keep on top of things since we are literally never home. To make that adjustment we cut back our weekly gas money and petty cash, but let me tell you it has made a huge difference. Just the few hours she is here a week helps us stay on top of things.

Some people might think we are crazy, but we love our lives and wouldn't have it any other way. And although we aren't home much we are getting in a lot of quality family time.
Bring it on Spring!

Anniversary Weekend

A few weeks ago Landon and I celebrated our 17th anniversary. We usually just go out to dinner and sometimes we go skiing or bowling or something, but we haven't ever gone anywhere for the weekend. This year we decided it was time and we planned a getaway for the whole weekend. Luckily my Mom was able to come and stay with the kids.
We went back and forth on what we wanted to do, I have really been wanting to visit Universal Studios to see Harry Potter World, but we eventually decided on Brian Head ski resort as we both really like to ski. My one requirement as we looked for a condo to rent was a fireplace-what isn't more cozy and romantic than being able to cuddle up in front of a fire place, also I was hoping to get a little reading by candlelight in.
We ended up finding the perfect place. Cozy, comfortable, and affordable. Plus it was literally right across the street from the ski slopes.

It snowed most of the time we were up there. Saturday we woke up and it started snowing, but we headed to the slopes anyways. We still got a lot of skiing it despite the snow. The snow isn't the bad part, its when the wind blows and blows the snow in your face. It can make it kind of cold at times. We still got a lot of skiing in, but we did end our day a little earlier than we normally would have. Landon is a lot braver and more talented at skiing than I am, so although we hit some of the harder runs earlier on, we ended up sticking to easier stuff most of the day. I'm glad he still loves me and puts up with me even though he probably would have rather been skiing the harder runs. He's more of a black diamond guy and me more of a green circle type of girl, but it works for us, and has done for the past 17 years and hopefully many more to come.
After skiing we went out for some pizza and than retired to our nice warm condo.
Sunday we just hung out and played some board games before heading back home.

The kids had lots of fun with their Grandma while we were away and we were surprised with the new addition of some fish to the family-Bryce had really been wanting some and Grandma granted that wish. I think Bryce wished we would have stayed away a little bit longer.

Besties

These two have always had a special bond. I'm glad they have each other.
Bryce and Great Grandma Marshall. #besties #BryceEE

Slime

Around here we are up to our ears in slime. It's everywhere. It has taken over the backyard, it is stuck in Chloe's carpet, I constantly find my good Tupperware filled with it, and every time I turn around it seems like Chloe is mixing up another batch.

Apparently slime is a big craze right now. So big that for a while it was actually hard to buy plain Elmer's glue. It would leave the shelves as fast as the stores got it in, and the gallon jugs on Amazon were on backorder for at least a month. Luckily the glue has become easier to get, but the slime craze keeps going.
Chloe and her friends took it one step further than just making it for fun and actually started making and selling it on Instagram. They plan to use the money they earn for a fun day out. I'm glad they are using their creative juices I just wish all the mess wasn't going on with it-HAHA!

Chicks

Chloe was so "egg-cited" when her teacher chose her to bring the soon to hatch eggs home over spring break. The only problem was that we weren't going to be home for most of the time, but having the nice Dad that she does he agreed to check the temperatures, and add water each day while she was away.
We all kept waiting and waiting and then Saturday we noticed a hole in one of the eggs.
It took awhile but later that day it finally hatched out. It happened while Chloe was at her soccer game, but Tanner took this picture and sent it to her.
The little kids loved holding them....

and so did Chloe. She also named them all.

By the time Monday rolled around three had hatched. Chloe really wanted to keep them all, but I told her there was not way. We weren't zoned for chickens, plus we didn't have anywhere for them to live, so back to school they went.
Unfortunately at school the incubator got unplugged or something and none of the other eggs hatched. Also the black chick Jaycee died-Chloe was quite sad, but it got a nice burial in the school garden.
This was a fun experience for her, and I'm glad her teacher let her have it.

St. Patrick's Day Cupcakes

For St. Patrick's Day we usually don't do much besides wear a green shirt or something, but this year I saw some fun St. Patrick's Day cupcakes on Pinterest and thought we would give them a try. We invited our cousins over to join in on the fun.

They turned out pretty good, not exactly like the ones I saw, but cute non the less. Plus the kids had fun making them and that's all that really matters.

Cabinet Transformation

Home repairs are always something that needs to be done. There is regular up keep, repairs when things go wrong, and the home improvement projects to make things look better. We have done our share over the past few years and Landon has recently been doing some more.
Our goal is to sale our house next year, and move into a bigger place. That being the case we are trying to slowly fix up the things that need to be done to help it sale and also hopefully increase the value. The lastest project was transforming the kitchen cabinets. We didn't have the money in the budget to completely replace them, but we found this cool kit with good results where you sand and paint them. We decided to give it a go. The project ended up being a lot more time intensive than Landon thought it would be, but I think having the kids and I out of the house for almost a week helped as when we got home from Arizona it was finally complete and the results were incredible.

This is how the cabinets looked before the makeover...

This is the after...

It really changed the whole kitchen in a huge way.

Along with finishing he cabinets he also had painted the hall, front-room, and kitchen; put in new baseboards, and a new ceiling fan.

Everything looked great and it was so nice to come home too.

I am so lucky to have such a handy guy in my life.
