Baseball

Tanner has been playing baseball with a tournament league for the last little while. This weekend he was able to go to his first tournament with them. They played baseball all day for two days. Tanner was so excited to go! He was a little nervous especially on his hitting so he struck out a few times but he did get a pretty good hit on Saturday. Saturday afternoon he made an awesome play in the outfield. There were two outs and the bases were loaded and the guy hit a pop fly to right field, Tanner caught it, securing the third out and stopping a few runs from coming in. What a play! To bad I was in the bathroom with Chloe and missed the whole thing. At least Landon was out there, although he didn't see it either because he was sitting in a spot right behind the dugout and all he saw was the ball go up headed Tanner's way he didn't know he had caught it until he heard all the cheering.

Tanner is having lots of fun and learning lots with this team so as long as he is happy we will let him play-which of course couldn't make his father happier or prouder.

Fruit Leather

For Christmas Landon's parents gave us a wonderful food dryer. We were so excited about it and it has been running constantly since we got it. We have made beef jerky, dried apples, and our very favorite thing has been the fruit leather. I have to make it at least once or twice a week since it gets devoured so quickly.
It is super simple if you want to make some. Just get a couple of cans or bottles of fruit, drain the juice off of them, and then blend them up. If you want to you can add a little bit of Karo Syrup at this point but you don't need to. If you do blend again. Make sure your fruit leather sheets have been greased with vegetable or olive oil and then pour on the fruit and spread it out evenly. 6-10 hours later you have a super yummy and very nutritious snack. My kids LOVE it! I usually cut each sheet into 4-6 pieces and roll them up just like a fruit roll up. We have made apricot, peach, and pear and even mixed a few of them. The kids keep saying they can't wait until summer so we can have strawberry.

JUST DANCE 2

We went to our neighbors tonight for a little get together. We had a great time shaking our booties and the food wasn't to bad either. Thanks guys for inviting us we will definately have to do it again. In the meantime I'll be practicing my moves so I can have a better chance of beating Kaston. HAHA (FYI Kaston is their 2 year old and he has some serious moves he plays this game everyday)

Ellison Family be ready we are bringing this game when we come for Dawson's baptism and the laughs will definately rival that of new years.

a BIG OUCH

Chloe and her friend were out playing in the garage. I had been out there once and told them not to get stuff down off the top shelves just to leave it alone and play with something else. I was back in the house and I heard a big crash and Chloe crying. I went running out there and saw the ice auger laying on the ground-Oh no! I went over to Chloe and started inspecting her at first I didn't see anything wrong. Then the blood started dripping from her head.

Here is the gash-not the best picture since it is from my phone. Apparently the ice auger had fallen from the top shelf as they were trying to get stuff and hit her on the head. I can't believe it didn't knock her out. In fact she was running away from me hysterically as I was trying to get her to the car to go to the doctor-I was telling her stop right now before you pass out.

Look at the color of her hair it looked like it was dyed pink and not fun to try and wash out.

The verdict she has six staples in the top of her head and they will be in for about a week. Poor girl she was so worn out after the whole ordeal.
Well that's three scars on her head and face now and she's only six. I'm thinking of putting her in a bubble for a few years to keep her safe.

WHY?

Why does my son have to come home from school with his clothes looking like this.....

I'll tell you why grass that won't grow right+ weeks worth of rain and snow+a bunch of boys=lots of mud at recess. UGGH I am so frustrated! Maybe it wouldn't be quite so bad if he didn't wear Khaki pants to school everyday!

Her Very Own House

Chloe's Grandma gave her the perfect gift for Christmas-a cardboard playhouse. It sets up so easily and the best part is that is designed so that the kids can color and decorate and when it has finally met it's usefully days you can simply take it down and throw it away. Chloe loves it! We had to put it up as soon as we got home from Flowell. We found the perfect spot in her room for it and she actually slept in it for the first three nights. The neighbor kids think it's pretty cool too. Thank you Grandma Wendy.

No Snow Day

Yesterday we woke up to snow! What is there to be excited about many of you are probably wondering? Well for one thing we live in St. George it rarely snows here and when it does it hardly ever sticks so when it does there is need for much celebration.

We were sure they would cancel school for a snow day but the Charter School were we go to said no snow day-I think probably due to the fact that we already have to make up days due to starting late and didn't want to have to make up one more.

So the kids all went to school and their dreams of playing in the snow were dashed. However when I got off work at 11 I checked them out as well and we came home to play in the snow. Good thing we did because not long after that it was all melted away. Snow in St. George just doesn't ever stay. A Story behind this picture I went to take a picture of Tanner and he threw a snowball right at me hitting the camera square in the lens. The snow actually went down into the lens part and the whole camera shut down. I was SOOOO MAD! I thought for sure it was ruined, luckily it turned back on later, but hopefully it doesn't get rust in it or something like that.

Christmas Clothes

It is a Christmas Tradition for Grandma Robison to give the kids church clothes for Christmas. We LOVE this tradition! The kids always look so nice in their new outfits.
Thank you Grandma (and Taryn too :)

Sledding

Despite it being freezing cold while we were in Fillmore. We ventured out one afternoon to take the kids sledding. They had been dying to go since they never get to see the snow. After going up and down the hill a few times it really wasn't bad out. They had a blast with their cousins Dawson and Dakota. We finally made them call it quits after about an hour though they would have gladly kept sledding for a lot longer if we would have let them.

To Grandma's House We Go!

The kids had been waiting all week to go to Grandpa and Grandma's house for the Holidays. Thursday afternoon we headed out. They were so excited they could barely remain calm on the drive there. We finally made it there and they had the time of their lives playing with all of their cousins for three whole days. They really didn't want to come home yesterday-it is always so sad to leave :(

We had such a fun new years with everybody. We had a great party playing jeopardy with a little twist, opening white elephant gifts, eating lots of yummy food, and watching movies. It was great to get to visit and see everyone. Sorry I didn't get any picts of all the happenings.
