Disneyland Day 1

A couple of my good friends were going to Disneyland, so I took the opportunity to go with them and took Bryce. Chloe was a little bummed because she really wanted to go, but when you play a sport it's hard to leave for trips like this during the season. Landon happily stayed behind with her-Disneyland is not his happy place and Tanner wasn't interested either. So it just ended up being Bryce and I.

Bryce is a big star-wars fan and Disney just released their newest ride-Galaxy's Edge-which happened to be Star Wars- the week before we went so he was stoked.
For Christmas Bryce got a R2D2 suitcase filled with Star Wars clothes for the trip-even a pair of Star Wars Crocs. We made sweatshirts for everyone in our group and I even got in the spirit and had my nails done like R2D2.

We rode down to California with Amy and her 2 kids. The trip seemed a little long, but not unbearable. Bryce was super excited and just wanted to get there so he could go to Disneyland already. He was happy to have two of his friends to keep him company. The first thing they all wanted to do when we go to our hotel was hit the pool. It was a little cold, but we let them. They lasted for about an hour then we walked next door to a little pizza place and had dinner.

We got up bright and early to get to the park. I don't know who was more excited myself or Bryce. We used our magic morning the first day so we were able to get in an hour early. The first ride we hit up was the Matterhorn and we quickly followed that by Space Mountain. Welcome to Disneyland little buddy-no breaking this kid in slowly. (Before going Bryce had spent hours watching Disney rides on You Tube and he knew exactly what ones he couldn't handle due to something in them that would effect him sensory wise-the rides we didn't due because of this were Indian Jones, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, and Pirates) Luckily the list of no goes wasn't too long and we were able to do tons of rides both big and small.
The new Star Wars ride-Galaxy's Edge is a little bit different than traditional Disney rides in the fact that you don't wait in line or get a fast pass to get on. The minute the park opens (not including magic morning hours) you login with your app and if your lucky you get a spot. WE got lucky and got a spot. You hear everyone cheering when they get confirmation that they got a spot. Once it's your turn the app notifies you and you head to the ride. While we waited for our turn we checked out Star Wars land.

 Bryce got a pet Porg.

Here they are waiting to get on the ride-finally!!! The ride was so cool one of the best rides I have ever been on and it quickly became Bryce's favorite.

Disneyland was pretty much Bryce's birthday present. So for his birthday he got to build his own remote control droid. He thought that was pretty cool!

We were able to go on Big Thunder Mountain.
We had a park hopper so we spent the later part of the day at Disney's California Adventures. We all loved Cars land and the Cars Ride.

While waiting for some of our group to go on the Tower or Terror. Bryce and I got to meet Groot and Spider-Man.

We had a fun filled first day at Disney. Needless to say Bryce was out pretty quick once we got back to our hotel.
Can't wait for tomorrow to come!!!

Preference

Chloe went to her first high-school dance. It was preference (a girl's choice dance). She asked Clayton.
Here is the way she asked him...
His response
(I need to find a picture, but it said the answer is "simple" yes I will go with you. It had a cute sign and some lemons that spelled yes with some Simple Lemonade.

For their date they went hiking and then came back to our house for brunch. We kind of had a French theme. We called it Ellison Speakeasy. We served crepes, fruit, and bacon. Jessica, Vanessa's Mom, came and helped me prepare and serve the kids. Tanner mixed, fun, kid friendly drinks for them. After they ate they went out back and hung out for awhile.

Clayton really is a nice boy and he brought Chloe some flowers.
He even took some good humored threats from Chloe's "Aunt" (aka Fallyn) and myself without much of a problem in fact he told Chloe her Aunt was awesome. LOL
Later that day they had pictures and then went out to eat.
Chloe can never be serious-HA!

I think it was a good first dance experience for her. Hopefully she will want to got to other dances if the opportunity arises. Because after all these moments in high-school are some of the ones you always remember.

Sunday Hike-Hell's Hole Trailhead

Today we went on more of a walk than a hike, but at least we got outside. Bryce wanted to show Landon and Chloe the new park at Hell's Hole Trailhead so we just decided to walk on that trail for our hike that day.
