Primary Program

Today was the primary program. Chloe did such a good job on her part and sang her little heart out. Since Tanner has actually officially graduated from primary he didn't have a part this year, but they did ask him to give the opening prayer for Sacrament Meeting. He did a great job! He is really growing up it's nice to see him passing the sacrament each week now. We were really proud of both of our kids and hope they keep on improving their personal testimonies and making right choices.

It's a...

Championship Game

Last Weekend Tanner's baseball team went to a baseball tournament here in St. George. They won 3 of their games and tied 1 which put them in the championship game. They had an awesome go of it and Tanner's defense was impeccable. He even got a couple of sweet hits in the game that determined if they went to the championship or went home.
They played hard but they ended up losing their championship game. The thing that really sucks is the team they lost to was a team they had beat to get into the championship game. It was still great though and good to see them accomplish this, it has been a long road but they have grown and progressed a lot over the last year.
The other team wanted to get a group picture-how heartwarming.

Tanner is so competitive (I wonder where he gets that from) that he really wasn't even happy about his second place trophy-he told me that they were dumb because it was like here's a trophy for losing-haha. What a kid! After I forced him to get a picture he quickly handed his trophy over to me.  Meanwhile the rest of his teammates were proudly carrying theirs around. He was more excited of the promise of a trip to Pizza Factory after the game :)

School Pictures

The kids school pictures came back on Friday. I was so glad that Bell Photographers finally made an affordable option to just purchase the disc.

Here is my big 7th Grader...
(smart as ever, straight A's at mid-term, a little bit sassy though and definitely becoming a teenager)

Here is my sweet and sassy 3rd Grader...
(who only gets her card changed some weeks-haha)

Oh wait never mind I don't have Chloe's picture sometime between when her teacher gave her the disc and her getting home she lost it. Hopefully I can find it somewhere at the school. UGH!

Weekend Fun: Scout Camp; International Days; Rodeo

Last weekend was jam packed with fun activities. On Friday afternoon Tanner left for scout camp-it was his first scout camp that Landon didn't go on with him. He was excited about it. They must have had a good time because when he got home Saturday around 1. He fell asleep on the couch and slept until I woke him up around 5:30.
Friday night Landon and I went to the temple with our ward for a special ward temple night. Chloe had a girls night and she went to dinner and frozen yogurt with Grandma Tawny and Aunt Sandi. Then she went to Great Grandmas to watch movies and play until we got home. She was asleep by the time we picked her up.
On Saturday our ward held an international days celebration. It was where we could go and visit different classrooms where people who had lived in or visited different countries taught us about them. They gave everyone passports as you got there. We were able to visit China, Egypt, New Zealand, Spain, and Germany. It was fun and interesting to learn new things about these countries. Tanner was still at scout camp so he didn't go with us, but Chloe loved it. Here are some pictures of her from our trip to Spain wearing her hat and neckerchief and eating her pan.
Saturday night was Rodeo time. Ever year we go to the Annual Dixie Round Up Rodeo. It is the biggest event in southern Utah. We usually luck out and get good seats due to family connections, which was once again the case this year. The kids had fun, although Tanner did ask to go home early to go to bed-haha, but he really enjoyed the rodeo food. It was so crowded where we were sitting that we decided next year even if we had tickets for good seats we might go sit somewhere else where we might have a little more room to stretch our legs and our backs out just a bit. Sunday afternoon Chloe put on a rodeo for us all using her fake horse. She did every event and would drag different items out on the front lawn to be the barrels, or the steers she was roping, etc. It was pretty entertaining.
We had a good weekend but were all exhausted by the time Sunday afternoon rolled around.

Activity Days Talent Night

Last Wednesday for activity days we had a talent night...
Each girl made there own name tag and brought stuff to set up a display table about their talents. Then they were each given the opportunity to either talk about their talents or to perform one of them. It was great to see how talented these young girls were. Chloe did her own display and she even made the scrapbook pages by herself. I guess soon I will just turn over all of her pictures to her and have one less thing on my plate-lol. It was good to let the girls see their talents and realize that they are each special in there own way.

Baby Update

Last Thursday I had a doctor appointment. Once again Chloe accompanied me. Things are going a little bit better I have started to feel better the last week or so though there are days that I am still pretty sick. I think I will continue to improve. I had actually gained a little bit of weight or at least gained back what I had lost so that is good I guess. I am starting to show a little bit too and I guess I should be since I'm now 16 weeks along. The Doctor let Chloe run the heart monitor while we were there to listen to the babies heart beat. She loved it, but what she was even more excited about was when he told her that it sounded like a girl heartbeat to him :) Now we just have to wait about two weeks to actually find out.

Priesthood and Scout Advancement

The last two weeks have been filled with exciting events in Tanner's life. Two weeks ago on Sunday he received the Aaronic Priesthood and he was ordained a deacon. Grandpa and Grandma Ellison were able to come down for this event and most of my family who lives in town was able to come as well. It was a special day. Afterwards we had a nice dinner, including cheesecake, at Great Grandma's house.
That night there was a scout court of honor. Tanner moved out of the 11 year old scouts to the regular Boy Scouts in the 12 year old group. He received his 2nd and 1st class scout advancements.  He also got his Robotics, Orienteering, and Communications Merit Badges.
Another thing is that he moved out of Primary into Young Men's. I can't believe it-dare I say that he is not really a little boy anymore he is growing up and yep-GASP-he's pretty much a teenager now.
This week in church he passed the sacrament for the first time. He did such a good job even though he was a little nervous. I was so proud of him. He also got to go and collect fast offerings after church for the first time.
A lot of first in the last two weeks and a lot of growing up. We are proud of Tanner and hope that he continues on the path he is on. I have meant to get a picture of him all decked out in his Sunday attire the past two weeks but alas I have failed-maybe next week I'll remember.
