Summer Days

Well we went swimming once again. I realized I had better take the kids at least once this week, because next week is our last week of summer vacation before school starts up again. I can't believe that the summer is almost over, it's gone by super fast this year.
This picture is of Tanner and Chloe with their cousin Tyler they were just relaxing in their tubes for a minute a least, before they started some battle game with their new water guns from great Grandma and Chloe started pretending to be a dolphin leaping all around the pool and asking me to throw her treats. The games kids come up with. Anyways I think they had fun and I did get a little reading in admist all the splashing. I need to finish up my current books so I can read the new Stephanie Meyer book when it comes out tomorrow.

Molly and Casey

Molly and Casey are the new puppies at Grandpa and Grandma Ellison's house. While we were up there last weekend the kids had so much fun playing with them. Tanner liked to just hold them, and Chloe liked to pack them around and pretend they were her babies. They were pretty patient about it. We were quiet surprised that neither one of them asked to bring one home. Thank Heavens!
We also were able to see my sisters baby, Taelor, on the way home when we stopped in Cedar City. She is getting so big. She is smiling now, and making little gooing noises.

Left Hand Fork

Landon finally convinced me and the kids(though they didn't need to much convincing) to take a overnight horse ride with him up to left hand fork. I figured I might as well try it, one time couldn't hurt, and then if it turned into a disaster he wouldn't ever ask me to go again.
We left Thurs morning:
Everything is looking good at the trailhead the kids are happy and ready to ride

Here we are heading out, but wait one of those horses is missing a rider. Yes due to a little rodeo action from Frosty while he was tied to the trailer and waiting to go, with Tanner on his back I might add, Tanner decided it would be in his best interest not to go on the ride. Grandma to the rescue she was able to come pick him up at the trailhead before we left.

Here we are when we stopped for a little rest and a little fun it looks like. There's Chloe's cowboy hat from the yardsale she decided to let Geno or Unicorn as she called him (due to the bumb on his nose) wear her hat for a minute.

Chloe finally decide she was sick of riding with Mom so she hopped and Frosty and rode him most of the way to camp, she even had time to do a little stunt riding. Shown below

We finally made it to camp after about 3 hours I think, all in all the ride went pretty smoothly. We were all pretty tired when we go there but we had some time to play in the creek and Landon was even able to catch a few fish.

We headed back down when we woke up today. Good thing we left early so we weren't in the heat.

For the most part I think the trip was a success, we had no major problems. Just the norm a couple horses being stubborn at times, Clem truning around a following another group of riders, and a couple of bruises and alot of soreness. Chloe did get stepped on by one of the horses, but all is well and she was up and running in no time, luckily it hit just right so it more scrapped it and left a bruise than doing any other damage. It was fun, but I'm not sure I'll plan on going again anytime soon, but thanks for taking us Landon.

Family Night at the Rock Wall

Tonight we went over the the Rec Center again, though for a different reason than to swim, we went to climb the rock wall. I thought this would be easy since a couple of days ago I had watched my cousin Tyler who is about 10 scale to the top of it pretty quickly, boy was I mistaken. I actually found out I'm the wuss in the fam, being that everyone else climbed higher than I was able too. Landon was the only one who actually made it to the top. Tanner did get pretty close on one of his climbs. It was a fun activity. I'm sure we'll have to do it again sometime. I'd better start pumping some iron.

Washington City Rec Center

So today we went over to the Washington City Rec Center. Landon actually got to go with us. The economy is hitting everywhere pretty hard down here, so he gets off early at least once a week, which can be kind of nice sometimes. We decided to take advantage of it today and go swimming. The new rec center is awesome there is tons of stuff to do. There is a hydrotube, smaller slides, a huge dump tank that pours like 50 gallons of water down when it dumps, a lazy river, and lots of other stuff to play on. The kids had fun, Tanner was even able to meet up with one of his friends there.

The Joys of Owning a Dog

Okay so we get home and Licorice is in heat, so for those of you who know what that means, it's not a good thing especially with a house dog that's not fixed, so we had to be inventive. I made her this pair of pants as Chloe likes to call them which suits her just fine, because she is still able to run around the house as she pleases. When I first put them on her Chloe was just lauging her head off. Tanner was a little more reserved he said "were not going anywhere with her like that are we?" But hey you do what you have to do. Hopefully we won't have to deal with this much because we do plan to get her fixed we might let her have one batch of puppies though just for Dave and Kylie, but I'm not sure if it will be this time or next.

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

We were sure glad to be home on Sunday afternoon. Though the trip was fun it's always nice to be in your own house again. It looked like Landon had kept busy while we were gone, doing little projects and rearranging the house to his liking. He reorganized some of the furniture in our bedroom, patched a hole in the wall, made and hung a shelf to put all of his hats on (finally), bought and installed another shelf in the kitchen, and put a new door knob and lock on the front door. I was pleasantly surprised by these projects. I had been wondering what he was up to all week.

Diva to Cowgirl in 5.2

Chloe is at it again with her dressing up. When I went up to get Tanner on Thursday I bought her a couple of outfits for Preschool. She of course had to try them on as soon as she saw them along with my new purse and sunglasses to accesorize. Then today we went over to a yardsale by my sister's house and she just had to have the black cowboy boots along with matching cowboy hat that they had there. Of course she put them on before we left the yard. She said she needed them to ride horses with. Landon has now promised her a horse riding trip in a couple of weeks.

Wall*E

Tonight we went to Delta to see Wall*E the new disney movie about that cute little robot. It was Chloe, Tanner and myself along with Grandpa and Grandma Ellison and cousins Dawson, Dakoda, and Saydee. The movie was good the kids were for the most part well behaved as long as they had popcorn to munch on. Saydee fell asleep for awhile and when she woke up started to cry, she must not have realized where we were at, so I had to take her out for a couple of minutes. I had bought Tanner the junior novel of this movie last week so he was all prepared he knew what to expect and when to warn you of a good part coming up. If you want to go I would recommend it for older kids maybe at least 5 or 6 and up and adults, because it is good, but there is not a lot of actually talking so you have to be able to read a little and have knowledge about certain stuff to know what's going on. On the way home from the movie Tanner and Dawson schemed up a sleepover at Grandma's house-imagine that.

He's Back!

Tanner is back, and although he is back were still not home yet. I went up and got him yesterday on the way I called and asked if he was ready to come home he said no. Well at least I know he was having fun. Thank You Shawna, Kylie, Brian, and Alice. He had lots of fun riding the horse, visiting places, and just playing with Kylie.
We are now back in Flowell for a couple more days. Hopefully we aren't wearing out our welcome here.
Oh yeah Tanner finally saved enough money for his D.S. so on the way home yesterday he bought it. Now I'll just have to make sure I'm strict on the time limit so he doesn't just play it all day like he would like to.

I'm glad to have him back though whether he wants to be here or not.

4 Wheeling

We went 4 wheeling up Fillmore Canyon today. We being myself and Chloe, Brenda and Jack, and Mandy and Saydee and Gavin. It was fun. The kids loved the 4 wheelers. At times we had to go through some pretty deep water I'm not sure what Jack thought of that. We stopped at one point and let them play in the creek the water must have been really cold because they didn't stay in for long. They had more fun just throwing rocks in the water. Gavin was having a hard time towards the end, but we made it back without any major meltdowns or accidents.

Swinging and Picking Peas

Every since we got to Grandpa and Grandmas house Sunday night all Chloe has wanted to do is swing or pick peas. She will do other stuff for awhile but then it is always back to will you swing me and then whenever were outside she has to run over and pick some more peas. She is having a fun week.
We talked to Tanner last night he seemed to be having fun, he said him and Kylie were going to ride horses today. YE-HAW

4th of July Weekend

Over the 4th of July Weekend we went camping with the Ellison Clan at Whitney Lake in the Uintah Mountains. It was lots of fun the kids enjoyed spending time with their cousins and running around getting as dirty as possible.

(This picture was taken the first day so the kids were still relatively clean looking.)

Landon spent a lot of time fishing usually with at least 1 if not all but the littlest kids tagging along with him. He did catch some fish though despite constantly baiting, casting, and untangling snags, or pulling kids out of the water.I think most of the kids managed to bring a fish in as well. Some of the adults went on a hike with the kids 2 miles up and 2 miles back. They did pretty good on the way up with only minor whining. The silver lining there was a lake at the end of the tunnel that they could play in. Well we finally made it and they were so happy to splash in the water for awhile. Notice the boy on the end of the log-Dawson-doens't he look full of mischief you can imagine which one was crying the hardest when we headed back. It just so happened that right as we dragged them all out to head back a cloud moved over head and the wind started to blow. Of course they were all upset and cold. We ended up carrying all of them but the oldest two out, until we were able to make contact over the walkie talkies and someone came and picked up all the kids. Thankfully we didn't have to carry them the whole 2 miles back. We did see a moose on the way home.

Of course what would camping be without the food. Shown above Landon in a serious corn eating contest with some of the kids and Chloe enjoying a smore.

After the fun is all over it's time to head back home to reality however the kids and I will extend our vacation a little longer Tanner went to his cousin Kylies in Ogden for a couple of days and Chloe and I will be staying a Grandpa and Grandma's in Flowell for the week, so look for updates on that.
