Memorial Day Weekend Part 2

While in Fillmore we spent some time down at Landon's parents house as well. We ate a nice dutch oven dinner with them on Saturday night. Sunday we went to church with them and then after having dinner with my family we went back down there to to spend the rest of the day and night there. 

Sunday afternoon we went out on the desert for some exploring. First stop, was the 'Hole in the Rock'. The kids all went running eager to climb into the cave-when they quickly backtracked with word that there was a snack right at the hole of the cave.

 Don't worry Uncle Trevor brought his pistol for just such an instance and swiftly took care of the 'rattler'.

 Kylie was brave enough to pick it up once it was dead.

I guess Landon is standing watch or something over the hole in case another snake emerges. 

I wasn't sure if it was safe to go down into the cave after finding the snake and I definitely wasn't going to do it, but Landon, Trevor and all of the kids, including Bryce, boldly went in. Chloe of course was the first one down there-brave girl. I was surprised cause even Tan went down I thought for sure he would say no way to that one.

After that little adventure it was time to load up and head to the next destination-The Hieroglyphs.

The kids had fun seeing the hieroglyphs, but even funner for them was climbing the rocks and racing to the top of the hill. We fared alright as we only had one kid hanging off the edge of a cliff before we were done. Landon and Tanner rescued him pretty quickly though, so no fatalities occurred.
