Thursday 4th-we missed out on the festivities because we spent the day with my family.
Friday 5th-Tanner and Landon were gone most of the day to ball games but were back by mid-afternoon.
Craft time-the kids made really cool luminaries and family flags.
The Big Surprise...
Chloe had heard Grandpa telling Landon about the big surprise, so the first thing she asked when she woke up Friday morning was "is the water slide here?" ha ha! Most of us knew it was coming, but we didn't quite expect anything this big. The kids eyes got bigger and bigger as it went up. Then it was a race to be the first one in a swimming suit. Luckily Grandpa rented it for two whole days!
That night the kids put on a skit. Tanner had the lead role as a wise karate master. It was cute and each child had a part. They all did a good job.
The boys spent every spare minute from dawn until dusk playing baseball, basketball, or volleyball.
Whenever there was a dull moment the kids always had the old favorites to fall back on-the swings and trampoline...
That night we were in charge of dinner. We made Italian chicken and homemade ice-cream and cobbler. As we were finishing up dessert a horrible windstorm came through. We all gathered up stuff and quickly made it to the house. Big tree limbs came down and the next morning this was how our tent looked. It bent the poles and everything. Sad we have had that tent for about 10 years.
