Still trying to catch up, but am getting closer.
A few weeks ago we took a little ski trip. Landon and I love to ski, but haven't gone in several years. We took Tanner a few times when he was little, but he hasn't gone in probably like 6 years or so.
Here the kids are ready to hit the slopes...
We decided to have the kids take an hour long session with an instructor just to get them in the swing of things. It was just the two of them and the instructor so they were able to cover a lot of ground. Since they started a little late, he actually gave them an hour and a half. While he had them he taught them the basics as well as loading and unloading on the lift.
While the kids were with the ski instructor Landon and I went off and did a little skiing on our own. It was fun. My ears have a really hard time in the cold, so I always look like a thief in my full on face mask.
At the end of the kids ski session we picked them up and went up to the lodge for some lunch. That was a joke. We paid like $50 for the four of us to each lunch. WOW!!!-next time we are packing a cooler with some subway sandwiches and a thermos of hot cocoa-they probably would have tasted better anyways.
After lunch we headed out to the slopes and skied the rest of the day until it closed at 4. It was lots of fun and we all got sunburned-ha-ha! By the end of the day Chloe was going down the hill so fast I couldn't even keep up with her if I tried, so her and Landon kind of skied together while Tanner and I took things at a more leisurely pace. Chloe will probably be like Landon and be a more aggressive skier. She is just fearless! At one point her took her straight off the face down through some powder and she handled it like a champ-she even tried a few jumps-ha-ha. Love that little spunky girl. Love Tanner too and glad I have someone to ski with my while the other two are racing down the hill, and before long we can have Bryce along for the ride-only time will tell what kind of skier he will become.
Chloe was so worn out she was asleep within 5 minutes of getting in the truck.
